Causes: Environment, Environmental Education
Mission: Parvati Foundation is a not-for-profit dedicated to a healthy planet. Our long-term vision is the Global Peace Sanctuary, to address poverty and hunger around the world. As a first step, we are focused on protecting the vulnerable Arctic Ocean ecosystem because it plays a pivotal role in sustaining life on Earth as we know it.Whether flying across the world on their own time to represent the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary (MAPS) on the global stage, creating an international treaty, or showing up in a hundred everyday tireless ways, our volunteers—from the newest enthusiastic helper right on up to the founder—are motivated by love for our world. We believe in better. We commit, every day, to embody peace, compassion and interconnection. MAPS is not just our mission. It’s our ethos. We have no financial interest in Nature conservation initiatives—only a human one. We wish to see all free from suffering, misery and lack. We are all interconnected as one Earth family.
Target demographics: The Arctic Ocean ecosystem because it plays a pivotal role in sustaining life on Earth as we know it.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Our Parvati Foundation advocated for MAPS, the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary to save the Arctic Ocean through our presence at numerous international environmental conferences including; COP25, United Nations General Assembly events, EarthX, Earth Day and AREDAY.
Geographic areas served: We serve the world through our global all-volunteer team of MAPS Ambassadors
Programs: Parvati Foundation is creating MAPS, the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary, to save the Arctic Ocean. MAPS, the Marine Arctic Peace Sanctuary, is by far the largest marine conservation area in history. It declares the entire Arctic Ocean north of the Arctic Circle an international peace park, free from exploitation of all kinds, in perpetuity. MAPS: Protects the fragile Arctic Ocean ecosystem, which has been a peace park for thousands of years by its very nature. Safeguards remaining sea ice from damage by exploitation, helping to keep the planet cool. Helps prevent natural disasters such as forest fires, floods and droughts.
