As an advisor to the team, I have come to know PfD quite well. Having said that, I have seen how their size ensures their unique ability to quickly and effectively respond to the needs of partners, donors, and communities.

In an increasingly complex development assistance landscape comprised of highly competitive networks of technical assistance providers from which donors and funders identify partners, PfD has consistently demonstrated its business acumen, technical capabilities, value for context, and thoughtful approach to design and delivery.

As they continue to evolve and improve, I am hopeful and confident that they will also continue to attract new and exciting partners and opportunities to address the many existing and emerging challenges facing communities.

Partners for Development (PfD) is a very effective humanitarian organization, both from the perspective of impact it generates at the community level, and efficient use of limited resources. I believe PfD's work has directly or indirectly contributed to saving lives, and improving economic conditions of thousands of vulnerable people, particularly women and children in resource scarce environments.

PfD works directly with communities and empowers them to create sustainable solutions. This type of ownership is crucial to success. By providing new skills and opportunities they are making a real difference. I highly recommend this nonprofit.

Of all the NGOs I'm familiar with -- and I've been in development almost 40 years -- without a doubt PfD is one of the most effective, efficient and cost-effective. They genuinely serve communities, women and children...And they have sustainable impact.

I serve as a board member of PfD and since I started with them I have learned that they do not just give aid but they empower people. They empower people through micro finance, education, training on nutrition, hygiene, health, Agriculture and Agriculture inputs and a host of other sectors. One of my favorite things is the Girls scholarship in the North Eastern part of Nigeria. Please visit pfd.org to find out more

I am an enthusiastic Board member of Partners for Development (www.PfD.org)! As an experienced international development professional, I am choosy about the organizations I support, and what I value about PfD is that it works for and through LOCAL community organizations serving the poor. Also, the interventions are designed for lasting impact-- involving communities from the beginning and helping them gain the skills to carry on the work afterwards. Finally, the organization is very resourceful in making good use of donor money, relying heavily on resident country staff in Asia and Africa, and keeping the headquarters organization lean. I have worked for a multilateral development Bank, two non profit organizations, and several consulting firms, and the dedication and results I have witnessed at PfD, and the collaborative work we have done on the Board has been among the most rewarding of my career. I am proud to support PfD and I invite you to as well!

PfD's approach focuses on local empowerment to develop sustainable solutions. I had an opportunity to visit PfD staff in Cambodia, and words can't describe how passionate and committed they are to their work. Truly, PfD's work resonated in the region and has made a positive and sustainable impact in the communities served. I found my internship at PfD to be invaluable as there were opportunities to expand upon my international development knowledge and to become more familiar with the functions in HQ and in the field. PfD is transparent, innovative, and an organization I am proud to support.

There are many compelling reasons to support PfD—the programs are solid, the management is efficient, the impacts are real. But most of all, PfD believes in people—be they interns, local staff, or program beneficiaries; and in the end, that is the kind of organization that I want to be associated with. PfD made me the international development professional that I am. PfD trained me to do rigorous work that respects the people I am working for. PfD taught me how to enjoy working with a diverse group of people, and to invest in them. PfD showed me good development that empowers local communities and magnifies local solutions. PfD showed me what it means to see value in a young Nigerian girl (me!) who just wanted to make a difference in the world.

As a former intern, I had the privilege of working with Partners for Development (PfD). The dedication of the staff in improving the lives of the local communities on a global scale is remarkable. My time there has taught me important experiences in the realm of business development and program communication. Gaining valuable insights from the headquarter office gave me much appreciation on the amount of effort it takes to implement projects in the field on a grassroots level. It also strengthened my perspective on the importance of collaborative work to help others who are less fortunate. As a graduate student, PfD was extremely accommodating and flexible with my schedule. Most importantly, I felt like part of a team where my contributions were valued. Not only was I able to utilize my international experience and background in global health, there were plenty of opportunities to learn and integrate my interests with the assigned work. Its leadership and management team strive for transparency, partnerships, open to ideas, and they welcome feedback; for me, this is a trademark of a trustworthy not-for-profit organization. PfD is like a hidden gem in the sand. To discover for yourself, learn more at www.pfd.org.

Partners for Development has not only advanced my career development as a former intern and employee but also made significant strides in access to health, education, agriculture and microfinance in communities in Liberia, Cambodia, and Nigeria among numerous other countries for more than 20 years.
Coming from a developing country, it was rewarding to be part of this organization. PfD’s "bottom up" approach through partnerships with local organizations maximizes impact and makes a positive difference in the lives of so many people.

All of the employees, whether based overseas or at their headquarters office are 100% dedicated to the mission. The staff is committed to engaging with the communities in which they work. They truly listen to their stakeholders and apply the advice they receive to improve their project delivery. They work in communities that others often bypass.
