Mission: The mission of Part of the Solution (POTS) is to be a loving community in the Bronx that nourishes the basic needs and hungers of all who come to our door.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 25,000 people, and sadly, 8,000 of those are children.
Programs: POTS’ ‘one-stop shop’ model is designed to meet the multitude of client needs through a diverse array of poverty-fighting services. POTS’ Community Dining Room and Food Pantry address the evident need for basic nutrition; the Community Dining Room serves primarily adults and the Food Pantry has a greater focus on families with children. POTS’ Day-to-Day Services include Showers, a Mail facility, Barbershop and Clothing Room to help individuals with daily essentials. POTS’ Next-Step Services include Case Management and a Legal Clinic and is intended to help individuals address crises, such as an eviction notice or financial distress, and to take necessary steps to improve their lives. Additionally, POTS hosts a Medical and Dental Clinic and Immigrant Justice Corps Fellows to enhance its comprehensive suite of services.
As the former bookkeeper I have "inside information". I can absolutely ensure you that every dollar is spent well, all avenues for funding are explored. The staff are some of the most caring individuals I have ever met.
If I had not retired to another state I would be honored to continue my employment with this outstanding organization.
The mission is to bring people from crisis to stability to self sufficiency. Every need is met for those who walk thru their doors and every one is treated with the utmost respect.
My husband and I are living on a fixed income but we try to contribute what we can several times a year. We know that every dollar goes to help those in need with a very small allowance for overhead costs.
I would strongly encourage you to consider supporting this fine non profit.
POTS is a non profit that provides help in moving clients from crisis to stability to self sufficiency. They help with food, training, medical and dental care, legal help, mailboxes, showers, clothing, and more. Full time social workers and lawyers take on the monumental tasks for securing homes and keeping clients in homes when eviction is threatened. Run by a knowledgeable, caring team whose first concern is to help with whatever issue the clients bring to their doors every day.
