My Mother Dr. Marilyn Peterson started this facility back in 2002 to help benefit Children with Special Needs such as my adopted brother Julian who has been diagnosed with Autism and many others like him to come have a safe and loving environment to provide them with Equine Assisted Activities and other such therapeutic needs. I have seen this place change the lives of many many children and their parents and has improved their quality of life in ways that border on a Miracle in some cases. I am proud to be part of this organization and vow to keep it and all that it stands for available and operational to the best of my abilities for the rest of my life :)

Parkwood Farms Therapy Center is an incredible facility with the goal of helping children and adults with Autism and Downs' Syndrome, and Behavioral issues, just to name a couple of disabilities. I met Dr. Marilyn Peterson about 6 years ago and admired her stamina and drive to help others and to reach out to the community. She also coaches for the Equestrian Special Olympics, giving of her time and her person finances. No one is turned away from this therapy center for the inability to pay or the severity of their disabilities. I love the attention given to children and the love this center provides to families and to the community. That is when I felt they needed more support to fund the programs offered and began volunteering by setting up the annual Holes 4 Horses charity Golf Tournament. This year will be the 2nd tournament in Sept 2014 and I am so excited about the difference every person can make to offer scholarships. In order to operate and maintain this facility, expand services with new and innovative programs; Parkwood Farms requires increased funding. I have taken on the mission to set up a golf tournament that will provide a long-time relationship with companies that will support this facility.
