I am a retired Kindergarten teacher and have been helping the 4-year old children with their academic skills for the past 8 years. I have seen wonderful progress from the time the children are checked in September until they leave for kindergarten in May. All of the teachers and volunteers here are very caring and supportive.

Going to the pre-school is the highlight of my week and certainly my day! I have a very busy schedule. Liz, the leader, is very flexible with me to come when I can and go when I must. I absolutely enjoy being with the children and the staff are very appreciative of any time and energy I can give.

I have worked with the preschool for more than 10 years as treasurer and on the board of directors. This is a wonderful organization that cares about at-risk children and their families, working hard to prepare children for a successful start in Kindergarten. The school not only take's care of the children but also assists the entire family with parenting classes, donations of used clothing, and our emergency fund for unexpected expenses.
The classrooms are small and are staffed by loving teachers, aides, and volunteers who care about each child and can offer individual attention. My home church, University Mennonite Church, has always been a strong supporter of the preschool, providing volunteers and funding.
We have been successful in our mission and that success is demonstrated in the fact that one of our current teachers was a former student in preschool.
I believe in this organization and the good work that it is doing for children in the State College area.
