Causes: Employment Preparation & Procurement, Job Training
Mission: To help parents - especially low-income single mothers achieve economic security to insure that their children are well positioned for academic success.
Programs: Parentjobnet supports public school parents in three core program areas: 1)workforce training and education: job readiness, career support, financial literacy, computer, esl and adult literacy 2)job networking events. 3)job placement services. Working in public schools in which a high percentage of families live below the poverty line, pjn offers parents access to the resources they need to obtain jobs, enhance their careers and improve their financial security.
in-kind support: created to respond to the lack of access to job resources necessary to help many low-income parents in nyc public school community achieve economic stability. Parentjobnet has partnered with many organizations and has attracted a substantial amount of in-kind support over the years to help meet those needs(see schedule o).
