Mission: Pantano bhs provided family-centered behavioral health services designed to comprehensively address the unique needs of title xi and title xxi individuals and families. Pantano bhs was organized around a network model, subcontracting services to outpatient providers through contractual agreements. The change in regional behavioral health authority that took effect on 10/01/2015 would have required significant restructuring of pbhs and the decision was made to cease clinical operations on 09/30/2015.
Programs: During fiscal year 2014, pantano bhs, inc. ("pantano") continued to provide behavioral health services to over 5,500 children, adolescents and young adults. The intake department at pantano performed over 2,100 intake assessments on potential clients. Of those served, over 1,900 clients received medication services from the 13 psychiatrists working with pantano. Pantano further developed its array of services by expanding its therapy team and by developing a case management team specifically devoted to children involved with the department of child safety. Additionally, pbhs contracted with over 30 providers of outpatient and residential services in pima county to ensure a wide variety of choice for the clients receiving services through pantano. Approximately 45 youth per month received out-of-home services in residential placements. The organization continued its ongoing emphasis on working with the families within their home and community environment. As part of the meet me where i am program pantano provided support services, including living skills, family and peer support and respite services to families throughout pima county. Through a specialty grant pantano also provided behavioral health services to over 250 members on the tohono o'odham nation. New therapy groups were added to develop leadership and social skills for teen girls and boys. Traditional individual and group counseling continued to be offered to meet the needs of our clients.
