In 2016 we adopted our sweet Boomer Bear (then Rufus) fro Panacea. Kristina, his foster mom, brought him to a park near our home so we could meet him. She had worked to socialize him, leash train him, had him around kids and lots of people. She could tell us with confidence where he needed work and if he would be a good fit for our family. When we finally made our decision she delivered him to our home equipped with a chip and a collar. We had a great experience.
In 2012 I was a board member of this organization. I repeatedly asked for financial reports but none were ever given. I resigned my position after the founders brought the board together for the first time ever in my one year on the board and asked that one founder be given a paid position as manager of the organization. All this without ever providing a financial statement to help the board decide whether the organization could afford to pay someone out of the donated funds. It is my understanding that after my resignation the board approved this move but yet, after all this time, you cannot find any information about the financial status of this organization. I do not falter anyone in their quest to help animals and improve their lot but I would be cautious donating to this organization.
