What a great place to go and relax. Also was a great place for a wedding I attended. The semi-annual plant shows are a great mix of plant and craft vendors, music and sweets. The tropical fruit tree area is interesting, but I really like the big swing on the pond.
Palma Sola Botanical Park is simply a great place to spend a few hours relaxing and enjoying nature. I love taking pictures of wildlife and this park is a great place for that with their variety of unique plants, fruit trees, and all the wildlife that they attract. I moved to Florida from Ohio and the first time I visited the park the front office ladies gave me a bunch of helpful information on not only their park but also surrounding areas for photography. I highly recommend people visit Palma Sola if they get the chance
Had my wedding reception at Palma sola bay botanical garden and it was spectacular. No need to decorate with all the garden and views everything and the staff are just perfect

This is Bradenton's only botanical park open to the public and it has flourished through the direct involvement of the community. Every tree, every bush, every flower, and the gazebo to sit by the water, was placed on these 10 acres through the effort of those who love nature. Palma Sola Botanical Park has humble origins, continuing for many years on a limited budget that supports this beautiful and serene setting.
I'm so proud to be a part of a small organization working so hard to provide the community with a natural, relaxing and educational source that is the Palma Sola Botanical Park. It has come a long way from it's very humble beginnings, and the employees and board are so dedictated to sustaining the park and seeing it's growth both in the park itself and its recognition within the community. Everyone is hands on with adding to the park, maintaining it, and all the fund raising efforts to keep it going. New visitors come everyday to enjoy the grounds and the plantings, enjoying a quiet time with nature. I hope to see the park continue to grow and bring in many new supporters who want to make sure we retain place of natural beauty.
If you like tropical plants, PSBP should be on your list of places to go. The park offers a tranquil setting cited on 10 acres in the midst of suburban sprawl. Enjoy the stately Royal Palms, rare fruit trees, exotic vines, bromeliads, cycads, succulents and flowering plants of all kinds. The park is a great place to birdwatch and the three ponds team with fish and turtles. You can even purchase a rare plant in the nursery. There you will find plants not available at the big box stores at a reasonable price (all proceeds benefitting PSBP)! The park is constantly adding to its plant collections. Best of all...no admission fee. Donations greatly appreciated. Enjoy!
This lovely little botanical park is always blooming and well taken care of by its small staff and a group of dedicated volunteers. It’s a community gem, available to all, open 7 days a week/365 days a year from 8 am to dusk. The plantings combine native and exotic flora, there are scads of native butterflies, local birds abound and the occasional otter, armadillo, raccoon, etc. can be seen rambling along with turtles and tortoises. The three ponds are home to fish and the shell paths are dotted with benches for a moment in the shade.
The Park gratefully encourages donations left in a box at the base of the office stairway/ramp...but admission is free!
A lovely place to spend an hour or the day!
I’ve been coming to Palma Sola Botanical Park since moving to Bradenton Fl about 2 years ago. I was struck from the beginning how much beauty was packed into this park, beautiful flowers, butterflies, a section of fruit trees and several picturesque ponds. I’m an amateur photographer and I’ve been lucky to have had some great bird sightings at Palma Sola. Egrets, Herons, Wood ducks, Kingfishers, and even a Tanager. It’s the kind of place where you never know what you’ll see!
Palma Sola Botanical Park is run by very friendly and helpful people, they’re always working to keep the park neat and beautiful and they even put on a plant/antique show twice a year. It’s a wonderful place to visit. I’m posting a few photos taken at the park as a sample of things I’ve seen there. ~Holly Avedisian
I am a local to the Bradenton Area and stumbled upon Bradenton, Florida's only botanical park and was instantly pleased to find a community park with so much Flora and Fauna. They have approx 10 acres to enjoy a quite stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the normal tourist areas. So much of the area is residential I am grateful to still be able to take a breath of fresh air while enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Thank You Palma Sola Botanical Park for providing a place for nature lovers at no admission.
The park for provides a beautiful place for people to go and relax get in touch with nature and enjoy the beautiful flowers and trees
Bradenton's Gem of horticulture. Large variety of tropical plants and rare fruit tree area with 65 trees located in a cold protected northwest corner of Bradenton. Weather protected screened in picnic area and playground. Meeting rooms and popular wedding site venue are nestled in a wonderful variety of plants, water features all maintained by volunteers. Open every day and FREE!
There is tremendous beauty and serenity throughout the Park, which also includes a large Rare Fruits exhibit - this is a hidden jewel located right near Ft Desoto park and Robinsons nature preserves
Not only am I a volunteer at the Palma Sola Botanical Gardens, I am also a visitor of the Park for nearly 15 years - there is so much beauty and serenity that is generated from a "walkabout" at the Park - I live about 10 mins from the Park and many of my neighbors visit the Park at least once a month - I encourage all visitors to the Manatee County area and the beaches to make sure they come to the Park and spend a wonderful time enjoying all the beautiful sights...
