Thanks to Pacific Rim rescue our sweet dog Gidget got a new lease on life. She had been a breeder mama stuck in a mill in the Midwest, forced to have litters over and over and over again, despite having a heart defect and being much underweight and malnourished. She was forced to live in a tiny cage and had never even touched grass. During one of their rescue operations, Pacific Rim found this mama was too sick to travel, and so they put her into the care of a local veterinary team in the Midwest and kept her safe until it was time to rehome her here in Washington. We were her lucky fosters and fell in love immediately. Despite her heart condition, poor eyesight, and the fact that half of her teeth needed to be removed, Pacific Rim didn’t give up on her and we couldn’t be more grateful. They knew gidgets life mattered and now she gets to live a spoiled life on the beach with her two sisters and two legged brother and sister, snuggled between mom and dad on the couch, playing in the gardens and never again being subjected to a cage or breeding. Thank you PRR for saving Gidget and hundreds more.
We have fostered 13 puppies over the past year and a half for Pacific Rim Rescue and also adopted one. He was a medical needs pup and we just couldn't let him go! They have supplied everything we need for each individual animal - from food, toys, bedding, and medications to almost round-the clock availability if an issue arises.
Many of these puppies and adult dogs come from deplorable situations. I want to reinforce the fact that many of these dogs were not "given" to PRR. They were rescued from a life of breeding at USDA sanctioned sales events. If Pacific Rim had not purchased dogs, they would have been sold to a breeder and grown up/lived out their lives reproducing in a cage. Adoption fees cover the cost of transportation, food, vaccines, vet care microchipping and supplies for Foster families. This is NOT a "for profit" rescue, and anyone that states that obviously does not understand what goes on behind the scenes.
Pacific Rim Rescue is also very selective about the families that adopt their animals. They strive to find the very best fit for both Dog and Adopter. Occasionally a family is just not going to be a good candidate for having a dog. Period. They would be in dereliction of duties if they ignored the results of the potential adopter interview.
This is not just a business, it is a labor of love for everyone - and a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization.

We can only do this work with families like yours! Thanks to your family for being the lovely fosters and adopters you are! You show up for the dogs, and that is what we are about. Thank you and your family for your #rescuehearts!
Pacific Rim Rescue is amazing! We applied for a dog that we saw online and heard back with a phone call. After chatting about our family’s needs and wants, Mindi thought that maybe that dog wasn’t right for us, but she had another one in mind. He was in need of an immediate foster family and we agreed to take him. They were supportive of us every step of the way. They provided food, treats, toys, a crate and bed for our foster. Most importantly, they helped us with advice for behavior issues while he was getting settled in our home and provided vet care. Our foster had a few health issues that needed to be resolved and they made sure that we were taken care of even after we decided to officially adopt. I can’t say enough about how great Pacific Rim Rescue is. Our family feels complete now!
I never thought fostering pups could be so easy.. and then we met Mindi from Pacific Rim Rescue! We have had such a wonderful experience with PR2 - the people and pups we have met have made AMAZING impacts in our lives! PR2 provides food, treats, crates....EVERYTHING! We provide the hugs and love that these furry friends deserve and it has changed me and my family for the better. THANK YOU Pacific Rim Rescue for all that you do - not only the dogs benefit from your hard work!

We are so grateful for people like you and your family! And your #rescuehearts! Thank you!
BEWARE!!!
True rating would be 0 stars.
They are NOT willing to accommodate allergies at all. If you have any concerns over allergies go elsewhere. We were very upfront with our concerns from the beginning of the adoption process, but found a pup who fit a “hypoallergenic” dog.
After we went through the adoption process we didn’t hear from anyone (no text, phone call or email - nothing) for over a week+.
I’d reach out and would be told they were busy and would be following up soon.
Then we got a phone call on a Friday saying ready to arrange pick up. No previous dates or locations were shared at all and we were prepping to be gone over the weekend.
After we waited for a delayed pick-up to be approved we got another call from a VERY hostile aggressive volunteer. We again mentioned the allergies and that we wanted to be sure we were as prepared as we could be for welcoming the dog. This person proceeded to falsify that we said our family wasn’t allergic to dogs during our interview and that we should have been ready (again after NO communication), and that we “weren’t ready to bring home a puppy” and “should find another rescue”. I was in shock honestly by the way the person behind such an honorable cause would speak to a potential owner. We ended the call that we’d proceed with the adoption and our family would pick up the pup that coming Monday.
Our family jumped through hoops getting prepared, told our VERY excited children and completely shifted our days around to be ready to welcome our newest family member that coming week.
Later that same evening we were sent an email that they were pulling our application and wouldn’t be proceeding with our adoption. They based this on OUR poor communication (what!!!). We were in shock and heart-broken. Again BEWARE of Pacific Rim, especially the adoption coordinators and as they will NOT accommodate allergies but will expect you and your family to be treated without respect or regard during their adoption process. Disappointment and bewilderment are understatements for our experience.

There is truly no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog, but we did try to work with this applicant to find a low-allergen dog for their family. We work countless hours as volunteers and give our all to the dogs and puppies in our care and feel strongly that we need to be their stewards to put them in the best situations and families in order to be successful and happy in their lives. After speaking in depth about this application, reviewing the many communications and considering the best situation for our puppy, we did not have confidence in moving forward with the adoption.
We worked with Pacific Rim Rescue to adopt 2 rescued puppy mill mama's! They arrived unsocilaized, needy, dirty and in need of Proper veterinary care all of which were taken care of by pacific rim. They came into our homes as fosters. And we knew we could never let them go. They have become such valued members of our family. We will never bring another that into our home. Except from a quality rescue such as Pacific Rim Rescue

The mamas are the lucky ones! Thank you for fostering and adopting!
They are NOT a non profit or a rescue. They are BUYING dogs and mostly designer puppies from Midwest auctions selling them for $1250 each. They say it’s “breeder release” puppies which is false. This organization, constantly crowd funds, asking for money to rescue animals while they fly across the country supporting and humane breeders.
