There is really no other organization like the Pachamama Alliance - driven by passion to envision a just, sustainable, fulfilling world for all beings and grounded in such deep integrity and authenticity. Since volunteering at the annual luncheon last year I have participated in several events: Awakening the Dreamer symposium, Game Changer Intensive, Awakening the Dreamer facilitator training, etc. Pachamama Alliance not only offers the tools to create a better world, they empower individuals to become change makers and instill confidence that we all have a role to play in addressing huge issues like climate change. And the alliance is 95% individual donor funded, giving them even greater integrity (not being funded by corporations with special interests.)
My participation in their online courses have been nothing short of life changing!
Having also had the privilege of being an intern within the organization, I can attest to the integrity and depth of commitment within the entire staff. They successfully cultivate and support an entire global community whom they inspire into action on behalf of an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on the planet.
In whatever way you are considering engaging with nonprofit organizations, Pachamama Alliance is deserving beyond measure of receiving it. They have lifted my view of what is possible for humanity and what a gift that is!
On every level of integrity and service, Pachamama Alliance is reaching its goals and bringing great benefit to this world.
I have participated in 3 of their online courses and what a professionally run and meticulously organized system they have created to inform and inspire.
Beyond that, I am so motivated by their contribution that I have changed my entire engagement as a citizen of this country and world.
I am continually nourished by their networking and support that remains ongoing and available on so many diverse topics.
The relationships that have been fostered as a result of their planning and organization are valued and growing.
They model everything that I aspire to as an individual!
I've been supporting Pachamama Alliance for 20+ years and I'm always impressed with the global impact they are making with such a lean organization and budget. Their partnership with the indigenous Amazonian organizations not only helps protect one of the most important eco-systems on earth, but also is helping shift the worldview of the modern world to realize that we are all a part of nature.
The Pachamama Alliances work around the world is making a difference in bringing forth "an Environmentally Sustainable, Spiritually Fulfilling, and Socially Just human presence on our Earth." I am privileged to be part of that change with my volunteerism in China. I have brought the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium there in the past eight years with the support of the organization's global coordinator for the past four years.
My life has changed in unexpected ways since 2011 when I joined the Pachamama Alliance. My growth as a human being on our Earth has blossomed and I am grateful and honored to be a part of helping our Mother Earth thrive for future generations.
I love this organisation a group of really sound genuine people with no agenda other than to create a socially just economically sustainable spiritually fulfilling presence on the planet cool
I am very impressed with Pachamama Alliance’s professionalism and inclusiveness of all kinds of people, especially folks who disagree with their mission. I am planning to make a monthly donation.
So much GREAT awareness and eye-opening, I mean heart-opening materials!!! I am so grateful to Pachamama Alliance for their partnership with Drawdown.org and their standard set of courses! Also for the accessible online education opportunities! We are just starting a new organization that is focused on being future-fit and bridging initiatives. Pachamama's online courseware will allow us to quickly educate many people through partnering as opposed to trying to create our own courses. Thank you Pachamama Alliance!!
When I came across Pachamama Alliance's Awaken the Dreamer online course I was so in awe of what I was reading that I completed it in one sitting late at night. I loved that you could chose what you donated for the course. I eagerly joined the next Game Changer Intensive and then a journey to the Amazon Rainforest as part of their 'Journey program'. The organisation was amazing and the experience unforgettable and life changing. I enjoy connecting with like minded people in groups on their private online platform and value the speakers they provide for online 'calls'. But the most important work is assisting the Indigenous people's. Projects like the Amazon headwaters and supporting the Ecuadorian Amazon communities by providing income for their offerings of hosting eco-healing journeys is really valuable. Although I don't directly volunteer for the organisation it has led me to volunteer in other ways, doing 'healing intentions' for the Amazon forest and local workshops. I highly recommend this organisation.
Pachamama Alliance appeared on my Facebook page with so much serendipity. I realised the work they were doing and educating people about was my calling. The resources for the two courses I have done were awesome. They have helped me feel connected to a greater good and have helped me on my journey to help others. I look forward to being involved with this them into the future.
The Pachamama Alliance has expanded my horizon on issues that matter to me the most. It is an incredible organization with the wisdom and love to empower the human experience.
Pachamama Alliance is a real leader in work to save the rainforest, the planet and its inhabitants. I currently work on a local Drawdown committee, through Pachamama, to reverse global warming. I have also traveled with Pachamama to visit the Achuar Tribe in the Ecuadorian rainforest, which was life changing. The organization is well run and true to its mission.
Every now and then I heard "Pachamama this... Pachamama that..." and everybody around me seemed to know what this was about. I knew it should be something good, since I appreciated the people talking about it. It took me some years to investigate further by myself... and falling in love with Pachamama Alliance was very quick! In one of his newsletters David Spangler quoted the Drawdown project, this was the last impulse I needed.
I went to the website, searched and got immediate contact to real people, many individuals sharing a language of the heart with me. Direct, open, authentic friendly... I started by engaging myself with translations of Drawdown materials. This activity increases my sense of belonging and at the same time I am free to discover so much more... Pachamama Alliance's website its huge, it is like a big birthday present I unpack... and find so much to draw upon!!!! Sometimes I take part at webinars, again a wonderful chance to nurture my care and my love for Life. I do bow to the deep commitment of the team behind all that...
Pachamama has been a word we use now at home, I refer to it and my child knows what I am talking about. The good and blessed energy of all it involves is part of our daily lives in the most gentle and genuine way!
The Pachamama Alliance's stated purpose (to nurture an environmentally sustainable, socially just, spiritually fulfilling human presence on the planet) is inspiring, and their work bears it out. Their educational programs to bring this positive outcome about are outstanding. Their environmental classes based on the book Drawdown are getting people into action to solve the climate crises. I've been facilitating these classes for a year, and they are getting people into effective action and bringing grounded optimism around the globe.
I have been involved with the Pachamama Alliance since 2012 and it has become a community that grounds my life and empower me into action! From my first transforming experience at an Awakening the Dreamer program, then another indescribable Journey into the Amazon - my heart was opened in new ways and my worldview transformed forever! From that new indigenous vision of the interconnectedness of all life, I am fully immersed in the mission of the organization - helping create a world that is environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling. This organization has given me a community (national, global and local) that has empowered me into personal growth and action. The empowering leadership/culture of the PA has been a model to me in creating and growing our own local Pachamama and Drawdown communities in the Rochester NY area. I am so grateful and encourage everyone to learn more! Go to www.pachamama.org. First I recommend watching the Awakening the Dreamer on-line course! Then the on-line version of the Introduction to Drawdown! And then go deeper with the 8 week webinar - Game Changer Intensive! There's so much to learn and action to take as we create the better world we want for future generations! And always with the support of community! Thank you Pachamama Alliance for opening doors to my heart, community and the world!
I've thought of myself as a Child of the Universe for over 50 years. With Pachamama Alliance I've been able to meet a lot of other children like me.
Pachamama Alliance is a great place to learn - you can awaken your dreamer, become a game changer, participate in drawdown ... and, and, and.
A lot of roots are planted there and the followers are striking at those roots that are problematic. Terrific organization!
I am an avid volunteer with Pachamama Alliance . I have been with them for well over 10 years. I facilitated Awakening the Dreamer Symposiums for many of those years. I've met the leadership in the organization by attending their annual luncheons in San Francisco and San Diego. I've traveled with them to Ecuador to experience first hand the lives of some of the most remote indigenous tribes in South America. These tribes were the inspiration for the establishment of Pachamama Alliance. I looked at them from top to bottom and from experience declare them, "The Best".
I've been involved for years with the Pachamama Alliance, first as a student in their GameChanger course, and then continuing as a facilitator/moderator for the course several times afterwards. I am continually invigorated with their work, message and progress in this world for it is greatly needed.
I love them! PA does incredible work with folks in the Amazon as well as in the rest of the "Modern" world to get people into action.
This organization is instrumental in a most important effort, to return our planet to sustainability and balance, our social systems to justice and our lives to being fulfilled and vital. Please support Pachamama Alliance and all of it's world wide projects.
Have funded and have travelled to the Amazon Rain Forest with representatives to learn form the Achuar people.
Pachamama Alliance has been a catalyst for my shift in philanthropic focus. For years I have been trying to figure out how my company could make an impact on the environment and now I have found my path. Pachamama works in partnership with indigenous people to co-create solutions that will protect the sacred headwathers of the Amazon rainforest. The team is exemplary in how they are leading global change.
The Pachamama Alliance has so inspired me that I have touched thousands of people with their message and their unparalleled programs. I'm speaking around the world, training others to do the same, helping design initiatives, presenting in online programs, leading people deep into the Amazon rainforest and more.
I didn't recognize how much I needed this avenue to contribute to environmental sustainability, social justice, and spiritual well being on a global and local level until I found TPA. It has changed the trajectory of my life and all of my family, in beautiful and unexpected ways!
The Pachamama Alliance, while waking up the world to climate change, also woke me up to my place in the process, gave me skills and hope and a way to move in this changing world.
I trained as a facilitator for the Awakening the Dreamer course, presented a couple of years and now am living the course material in my life, living the teaching each day, sharing with my community and doing all I can not to be part of the problem, to lead others to solutions.
I have learned information I am able to use personally and share with my family and community about what I can do in my home and neighborhood to care for Pachamama. I am also more informed about what is happening on a global level and feel that is useful in my meditation as well as investmeny and political choices.
The Pachamama Alliance is laser focused on their mission, "To Create an Environmentally Sustainable, Socially Just, and Spiritually Fulfilling Human Presence on this Planet". Their approach is one I can support - empowering local leadership to be the solution in their communities, from the Achuar in Ecuador to me in California. The educational materials the provide to support this empowerment are first class. I feel my financial support has been well utilized.
I have to say that the online offerings of Pachamama Alliance are truly outstanding. They are total quality from start to finish, free of charge, and come with a human support system! I plan to start offering opportunities for people in my community to experience these courses in groups ... at libraries, churches, schools, etc. I know that others who are involved with the Pachamama Alliance (PA) are doing this and I'm already in touch with them by way of the Global Commons forum, also provided by PA. I cannot speak highly enough of the amount this organization is doing to spread the word about climate change and to encourage people to treat the earth respectfully. I've been doing some online courses in various areas of interest and nowhere have I encountered such a high quality, wholistic approach as PA provides. I also like the fact that PA works hand-in-hand with indigenous people, bringing support to them and their worldview to us so that we can truly be one humanity in spirit while respecting diverse ways of living. So far, I have done the Project Drawdown and Awakening the Dreamer courses. I plan to share both of these courses widely.
I’ve attended training and participated in calls. This group is part of the heart of the world and so necessary. Professional, compassionate, doing good things with humor and love.
Pachamama is at the forfront of intersectioal thinking - the interconnecedness of all life and issues. This organization weaves together issues around the environment, indigenous peoples, animals, etc. - issues that are all connected to the dominance culture as a current paradigm, one that we must change to make the world safe for all beings - Like the Extiction and Climate crisis we face on this planet. We humans must wake up to the interconnectedness of all! Our congregation uses Pachamama's materials in our social and environmental justice work. Thanks!
This is the kind of nonprofit I fully support...they are a grassroots, non-corporate, no big overhead, highly focused, hands-on and getting things done. I've been a supporter and involved for most of the 21 years of its. existence and know many of the dedicated, LOW paid and passionate full-timers...
The Most inspiring organisation I have come in contact with. I am changing to a better person thanks to this community. This community is the future - sustainable, spiritually connected and advanced on all levels.
I find them extremely functional in having the biggest positive impact for the budget they have. Very efficient and effective!
Pachamama Alliance is a well respected, professionally run, and highly effective social profit organization. The staff and volunteers who run the org in the US and partner with the indigenous people in the Amazon have huge hearts, filled with compassion and are totally passionate about the mission....bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on this planet.
If you are considering donating your time, money, or resources, I highly recommend Pachamama Alliance.
I have known about the PA and its excellent work for years, and in 2016 I met some of the staff at the Transitions and Permaculture event in Hopland, CA. The direct, specific exercises on leadership, and their personable attitudes led me to connect with the PA more deeply.
Since that time I have been a volunteer for the PA, helping in the initial development of the course based on Drawdown, attending events, and traveling on their Game Changer Journey to the Amazon [see photos]. Meeting the Achuar and other indigenous people directly has deepened my respect and appreciation for the work PA does. Their founders and all the staff are caring, genuine individuals who recognize the critical role of community in our transition world.
Their vision, mission, and commitment continue to move me, and I am intensely supportive of the work of the PA. We have just announced the debut of the Humboldt Pachamama Community here in Arcata, CA, where we will continue the work of PA through the workshops and events they provide.
I could add to 'my role' that of 'expertise in this field' for the work I'm doing with them on computer mapping; this keeps me involved, learning, and excited. I am truly a GROUNDED OPTIMIST, as described in the PA course materials and videos.
Some final notes - the workshop development and events done by the PA are extremely professional, their videography is excellent, and the international network of communities is exciting, impressive, and inspirational!
Using their excellent material I have been able to play a part in inspiring hundreds of local people in West Africa to understand what we are doing to each other and the planet and to consider what they might do about it
Pachamama is an amazing movement that comes from the South American meaning of mother or from mother earth. It's driven to bring earth into the rights that we give to business.... its time to honor our mother!!
Never have I worked with such empathetic, encouraging, and candid individuals. Every member of this organization emulates the mission created by Bill and Lynne Twist and John Perkins with their indigenous partners. The office buzzes with a hopeful and driven atmosphere--everyone has a role to play and a passion for playing it. Volunteering as an intern and table captain has been invigorating and I am now swept up in the fervor of shifting popular knowledge to understand and respect the worlds most precious natural spaces. THANK YOU PACHAMAMA ALLIANCE!
My preferred non-profit. Ever. The scope of their work, their spirit, their dedication is unprecedented.
Pachamama is all about making the voice of the unheard reach the masses; the voice of the planet, of nature, of animals, of indigenous peoples and of all those suffering silently and waiting for people to change their ways so that we all live in harmony.
The Pachamama Alliance is one of the most persistent, organized and thoughtful organizations I have worked with. They not only address the issues that matter to us most as human being with a clear and achievable vision; they also have years of experience and practical tools to assist people and communities around the world to work together. It’s been a privilege volunteering with them.
I have watched this community from afar and admired their tenacity, spirit and ability to organise without losing sight of their values. If anything - their values have evolved to be deeper and better understood by themselves. People within this charity have flourished and learnt leadership skills. They have the ability to engage others worldwide as their quest in their own country resonates with others in theirs.
Pachamama is truly a grass roots organization of people who love our Mother Earth and are working to honor and care for her around the world.
Amazing work by Sheila Blake. She is a trail blazer for this Organaization in Texas !!! Keep doing the great work of being the voice for our planet and the people who live in harmony with it.
I love this organization because it empowers people from around the world. It connects people who want to make a difference around the climate and encourages all the small steps that are taken.
Pachamama Alliance is at the forefront of true grassroots organizations whose beginnings and core aims are exquisitely targeted on core Whole Planet values.
Pachamama Alliance is an inspiring organization of highly dedicated people who are working for the planet, the Amazon Rainforest and for a better future for everyone on earth. I have been a donor for more than ten years and every month when my donation processes I am glad to be involved
Pachamama Alliance is an organization that’s partnered with indigenous leaders for the last 20 years. I’m proud to be a part of an organization relentlessly pursuing a thriving, just, and sustainable future, and to help implement our new goal to secure permanent protection of the southern basin of the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest, which would otherwise risk destruction from oil drilling and other extractive industries.
I am moved by the work Pachamama Alliance does to bring forth a thriving, just, and sustainable world. The educational programs are incredible, and it is fantastic that the organization goes beyond a fixed curriculum to connect participants on an ongoing basis to discuss shared experiences. Those connections are powerful, and offer a very unique opportunity in the world. I am happy to support this wonderful organization!
The Pachamama Alliance walks its talk -- its use of resources, its practices and ways of being are consistent with its purpose of creating an environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling human presence on this planet.
I know it from the inside out and am happy that such an effective vehicle of love exists.
The impact the Awakening the Dreamer - Changing the Dream had on individuals in our community in the Sea to Sky Corridor of British Columbia, BC was simply profound. People from all walks demonstrated a deep connection with the materials throughout each phase & Swiamish residents touched by the event supported it through a heavy snow fall, a myriad of other conflicting events and many didn't want to leave the event afterwards, staying on to talk for hours about potential next steps. Our experience felt supported yet challenged us to work through the material as partners in the venture, inspiring a rich curiosity around each phase of the material, and we enjoyed the additional time spent Together working out the kinks [now ironed out by this highly accountable organization. Their integrity & forthrightness are a balm to the spirit & we have so much gratitude for our hearts have been blown wide by the material & intention behind it that mived through us all that day. THANK YOU FOR THIS TREASURED EXPERIENCE! We will host it again in the coming year
I look for two things in choosing nonprofits to support and found them both in the Pachama Alliance:
1) one whose purpose or mission I related to the most: while Pachamama Alliance's started with the focus on empowering indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest to preserve their lands and culture, it has broadened to educate and inspire individuals everywhere to bring forth a thriving, just and sustainable world. In plainer terms, for me, that means to be conscious as we consume, buy and use things, about what we truly value and want to leave for future generations.
2) how the nonprofit conducts itself in pursuing their mission; e.g., the leadership being paid too much, is their efficiency in getting funding to the purpose of the organization, is the focus consistently on the mission and are results being achieved.
The Pachamama Alliance fulfilled and exceeded both of these for me over the 15 years that I supported it.
I support Pachamama Alliance. Their outcomes of "delivering educational programs to thousands of participants, helping them awaken to the needs of our time, and become=ing inspired to take action for a just and sustainable future" is so meaningful.
Pachamama Alliance is, in so many ways, the answer to the question I had long been asking: is there a single non-profit organization that resonates with my values and my Vision that I can align my life with? Last year, I realized that I was a member of numerous organizations that were all doing good work on the whole, but that I was doing little of that work myself. Though each organization had meaning for me, only Pachamama Alliance connected with me in a holistic, affirming, fully empowering way. It took a wake up call (literally) from a friend in Brazil to remind me what a jewel of the Amazon and what a great hope for the World the Pachamama Alliance is. And now I am all-in! I love Pachamama Alliance and the great colorful hope this organization brings to the World!
I first volunteered 45 years ago, and participated in my first political campaign 40 years ago. It wasn't until I connected with Pachamama Alliance two years ago I finally found a social enterprise that offered not just opportunities to serve and to do good, but also education in effective social and political change grounded in best practices from both ancient indigenous and contemporary wisdom teachings; support for building and sustaining local, engaged "pro-activist" community; and training and empowerment for individual volunteers to carry the alliance's message of environmental sustainability, social justice, and spiritual fulfillment to others around the world. I tear up thinking how long I've felt alone and isolated in my call to action for peace and justice, and how now with Pachamama Alliance I finally feel at home. This group is one in a million.
I have been aware of the Pachamama Alliance's great and important work for years. Finally, recently, at my company's (Powur PBC) first training and business event, I was able to experience the Pachamama Alliance's powerful, cathartic, inforamative healing, and motivational "Awaken the Dreamer" program! Loved it! I would recommend this program for anyone, from anyone walk of life. I hope to host "Awaken the Dreamer" in my town too.
I discovered Pachamama Alliance about ten years ago. They got my attention and interest for their work in promoting what is really important and essential in life to include our interconnectedness with nature. When I saw the Amazon journeys I told myself I would go with them and did in 2013. They are doing an incredible job in raising awareness and getting people's commitment in improving quality of life on this planet.
I appreciate PA and the awakening the dreamer, changing the dream symposium because of its simple yet comprehensive mission , clarity of vision and willingness to ask tough questions, find allies in unlikely places and offer inspiration to every person on the planet!
Pachamama Alliance is active on the front lines in the Amazon to support indigenous people in saving their home - the Amazon rainforest. They also develop innovative programs that reunite people with their natural origins and empower them to take action in the world. The Pachamama Alliance is an active and innovative organization making a difference for all of us on the planet.
I've been a supporter for 15 years and have never regreted it. I think they practice what they preach. The message is represented in the name.
I follow the work of Pachmama Alliance mainly through their Facebook page, which I find informative and unbiased with excellent colourful photos. This page does an excellent job of informing a wide audience about their work in supporting indigenous people and their lifestyle and their rights to continue their lives, disseminating how the knowledge and and awareness such people hold in relation to living sustainably is absolutely vital to the humanity and the planet itself. I as a human being am so grateful that Pachamama Alliance exists - and I love following their Facebook page.

Michelle, thank you so much for your review! We are so grateful that you feel this way! It is exactly what we intend for people to get out of our Facebook page and our work in general. :-)
In 2013, November, I attended a symposium during a Sustainability conference at Ananda College in Oregon state. 'Awakening the Dreamer', the symposium presented by Pachamama Alliance, was one of the top mind-altering and consciousness shifting experiences of my life. I would highly recommend to anyone concerned with the immediate and/or eventual future of this planet, to attend one of their symposiums or events, or purchase the dvd online. It's simply wonderful. I can't praise it or their work highly enough. I thank them here, and hope to be able to volunteer with them at some point. Namaste
