Results: Statistically proven in LA County, Black and Brown people are arrested at a disproportionate rate making up an average of 78.26% of all arrests from 2019 -2022 despite being only 56% of the LA City population. To help reduce these outlandish numbers, we must focus on the youth and provide them a positive trajectory in life. P2P has always taken a special interest in our youth as we are aware of the negative effects of social injustice, systemic racism, over-policing and the injustice and inequities within the criminal justice system that has had a severely negative impact on our communities. To meet the needs of the local community, P2P Community Development organization was established under Dr. E Hamilton’s leadership in 2020. As a three-time recipient of the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. E Hamilton’s commitment to building a stronger nation through volunteer service includes the implementation of several programs for our youth to provide them with the tools, support, and opportunities they need to overcome challenges, expand their minds and unlock their potential so that they can create the bright future they can envision and deserve. P2P is dedicated to empowering at-risk youth to rise above their circumstances, realize their potential, and be positive change makers to make meaningful contributions to themselves, families, and their communities. With the assistance of the P2P Board, each year an average of 3,500 hot meals are provided, an average of 10,000 pieces clothes, blankets, toys, hygiene kits, school supplies and backpacks are distributed. These community services further provide to serve the broader needs of the community, generate kinship and foster relationships. In 2021, Provoked to Purpose Mentorship program was launched to continue the mentor program it was expanded to not to assist young males but also to aid people who have been incarcerated to make a successful transition in all stages of personal, basic support needs after incarceration, relationship, educational, career/entrepreneurial, and professional development. Each participant has a personalized journey guided by a mentor that includes workshops to address the participates current state/need and project future state/need.

Programs: P2P is a grassroots organization that are on the streets daily meeting those where they are at and addressing needs for, housing, food, jobs, training and educational resources, substance abuse issues, domestic violence, prison ministry, prison release reentry, mental health challenges, youth advocacy, youth entrepreneur training, development, mentoring, counseling, and spiritual upliftment.
