the rural health and specialty clinics, including behavioral health clinic programs, performed 379,429 clinic encounters with patients during 2014. The rural health and specialty clinics made up 127,404 of those encounters, with the remaining 252,025 encounters belonging to other behavioral health care clinics. Behavioral health care offered services such as psychotherapy, psychological testing, case management, psycho-social rehabilitation, medication management/services, family assistance, and crisis stabilization services.
riverways programs serviced patients through 98,162 visits during 2014. Programs include: riverways home care (health care provided to patients in their homes using skilled nurses, home health aides, rehabilitation therapists and social workers), riverways support services (homemaking, personal care, respite care, and in-home companion care), riverways transitions (end-of-life care offering assistance, encouragement, and support), riverways hospice (physical, emotional and spiritual care in the final stages of illness), and riverways adult daycare (a safe place for adults who are unable to stay home by themselves).
