I have volunteered with this nonprofit. They have a large, temperature controlled building. I have never seen mouse droppings or bugs. Things are carefully arranged and Safety is obviously important.
Excellent Cleanliness; gloves provided for sorting food; warm gloves on 'freezer' days. Produce carefully examined for mold. Use by dates read and food processed or discarded accordingly.
Much food unable to be used goes to "Hog Farmers" so that it is not wasted.
Easy to sign up for shifts electronically --up to the last minute .
