Mission: The specific and primary purpose of overeaters anonymous (oa) is to aid those with the problem of compulsive overeating to overcome that problem through a 12-step program of recovery. Oa has approximately 60,000 members attending 6,700 weekly oa meetings in over 80 countries.
Programs: Group support and referral services. Conducted membership survey to update information we provide to professionals about the program, as well as online international public awareness efforts which resulted in press releases and coverage in newspapers, magazines, internet ads, and distribution of public information posters to local communities. Lastly, oa provided financial assistance to local groups to exhibit at professional trade shows.
