My experience with Outreach360 has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. From the moment I joined, I felt welcomed, valued, and deeply appreciated. The kindness of the team, my fellow teachers, and the students made this journey unforgettable, and I will always be grateful for it.
I have served as a volunteer ESL teacher with Outreach 360 from April- July 2024. The team was amazing, very supportive and I loved every day spent with the students. It was great to make a difference in these children's lives!
I was a volunteer English teacher with Outreach360. This was an amazing experience for me. I was blown away with the quality of the program. These students really work hard. They want to learn English and put in the work to do it. The curriculum is excellent! Everything is laid out for you and you don't need to wonder if you are doing enough. Coco and Adie help you to succeed. The value that I got from it was not just knowing I was doing something useful but it was Joy. I got joy from working with the students. They are so funny and just a joy to work with and encourage. Have no doubt about it. Outreach360 is VERY worthwhile organization.
Volunteering with Outreach 360 has been a great experience. The students’ continuous desire to learn has only fed my motivation to teach. I recommend volunteering with this organization, because not only will you gain insight and knowledge that you will be able to apply in the classroom, but the support of the staff will remain consistent.
Being an English Language at Outreach 360 was one among the best experiences that I have ever had. Everything is so organized starting from the application process until being part of this hard working team! I would like to thanks Madam Coco for her patience and help to make be join on board as she was very active, friendly, and professional while contacting me. In addition, another thanks goes to Teacher Adie for her knowledge and enthusiasm that she shared with us.
I did love the atmosphere, system, teaching, books, the platform, the homework especially the lovely students that I will definite miss them so much. The students at Outreach360 are very smart, cheerful, lovely, and eager to learn as I was able to built a very good connection with them in order to create a joyful surrounding for studying.
Special thanks goes to teacher Alma who I will definitely miss so much. She is a lovely teacher filled with love, kindness, energetic, knowledge, and joy. Working with her made me love to be part of the team as we learned a lot from each other. Of course Teacher Michelle deserve many thanks for her daily conversation that is so interesting to listen and share with because she is like a book full of knowledge about any topic and I did really enjoyed enhancing my methods of teaching as well as my knowledge and perspective of life.
Thanks to Teacher Ali who was a great and comfortable colleague to work with.
Thanks to my 5 lovely students Abigail, Kamila, Oswaldo, Santiago, and Sebastian for being so lovely and obedient. I can't imagine I had volunteered for 8 months which went so fast!
Outreach360 is a great and safe environment for kids to learn and for teachers to teach.
Adios!
From May 29th to August 18th, I embarked on a journey with Outreach 360 as a Virtual Volunteer English Teacher, and it turned out to be quite the adventure. I was unsure about my future in English teaching, so I thought I'd dip my toes in, and boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise!
What really struck me about this experience was the incredible support from the teachers and staff. They were not just helpful; they were compassionate and accommodating. They genuinely cared about both the students' well-being and their English skills. Whenever I needed assistance or guidance, they were there to lend a hand. It made the whole teaching process a breeze.
But the real stars of the show were the students. They were not only eager to learn but also incredibly appreciative. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and it made each day a joy. Their genuine gratitude for our efforts was heartwarming and made the whole experience worthwhile.
Whether you're an experienced English teacher looking for a change of pace or a newbie like me, Outreach 360's Virtual Volunteer English Teacher position is a fantastic opportunity. It's a chance to try something new or, more importantly, to make a real impact in the lives of young learners.
To sum it up, my time with Outreach 360 was transformative. The caring staff, combined with the students' enthusiasm, created an environment that was not just about learning English but also about building connections and finding purpose. I'd highly recommend this experience to anyone who's passionate about education and making a positive difference. It's a ride you won't want to miss!
The Virtual English Academy inspires me to know that everything can be learned with discipline and patience. It has motivated me to continue studying so that I can help the people around me. It has helped me with my English and to move forward in life. I have improved my performance at school, too.
The Outreach360 Virtual English Academy inspires me to think about what I want to be in the future, and it makes me fly very high. I know that I can achieve it because Outreach360 has helped me, first and foremost, to believe that it is possible, and that I am capable of doing jobs that I thought I could not. I have a long way to go and many goals to achieve. Outreach360 motivates me by bringing so many volunteers, who are a fundamental part of our teaching, and helping me believe that at some point I will be one of them.
I feel that learning 1:1 and in small groups in the academy is easier, because I have the opportunity to interact more with my teachers, and I can pay more attention because the teaching focuses on me. I have used my English skills in a real way, interacting with native speakers that I have had the pleasure of meeting at tourist attractions in my country.
The Outreach360 Virtual English Academy has helped me to be responsible and invest my time in education, and it has awakened in me the desire to excel personally and professionally. The private and semi-private classes with personalized teaching have helped me gain more confidence and develop a desire to learn things that used to be complicated and overwhelming. Also, by having better opportunities as part of the academy, English lessons at my high school have become easier. My classmates ask me very politely to explain topics, which has not only helped me, but also allowed me to serve others and share my knowledge. Furthermore, the academy has also helped me think about my future business and communication with future investors, and it has motivated me to contribute to the good of my community in the future. I think one day I could contribute by giving good business advice to the inhabitants of my city.
The Outreach360 Virtual English Academy has inspired me to think about possible job opportunities that a person can get by knowing English and having good grades. The academy has also helped me overcome obstacles in my life with the advice given, which I have tried to put it into practice. Being involved with the academy has made think about helping others to learn English, so they can have the same opportunities that I have.
I enjoy having private and semi-private classes in the academy because I have more opportunities to participate in class and get my questions answered by teachers. It has helped me learn English more efficiently. Sometimes I use the English I've learned outside of class to say phrases, or for my school English homework. My English teacher at school even assigns me to be a monitor and help my classmates.
The Outreach360 Virtual English Academy has inspired me to speak English to get another scholarship or better living conditions in the future. The Academy has given me the ease to work as a member of a team and present in public. The academy has also made me think about improving the quality of life of my community and making better use of my time. It has taught me to listen, be more patient, and be more in the moment, and to take notes without being prompted. I have used the English skills I've gained to translate for other people who have needed it, such as interpreting orders and announcements.
I have been inspired by the Outreach360 Virtual English Academy because it gives me more opportunities and has helped me be able to study my school subjects using English books. I get very good grades as a result.
My experience in small classes has improved my learning a lot because you have to focus and pay a lot of attention to learn, and I get less distracted. I use my English skills to chat with my English-speaking friends and watch English-language shows.
The academy motivates me to be more interactive with others, and to think about how in the same way that my teachers are helping me, I can help others. For example, in my community, I can help others to learn English.
The Outreach360 Virtual English Academy is an inspiration for the future. It has motivated me to think and want to share my knowledge of this incredible language. I want to be a virtual teacher on YouTube and other platforms to teach English following the legacy of the academy and teachers that I admire a lot. At school I feel proud for being one of those who stands out in English. I would like my classmates to speak it like me too.
The Virtual English Academy has given me security and confidence. I thank my teachers for their dedication and belief in me. Having private classes helps me learn more every day.
A few weeks ago I was in a hotel and there was an American girl who didn't speak Spanish. I approached her and we started a conversation. It was incredible to be able to connect thanks to English.
The Outreach Virtual English Academy has inspired me to forge my university future, having a good foundation and knowing that English is essential for professional development. The academy has given me tools to interact and establish conversations with people around me and from my school. It has also helped me create my own ideas that can be highlighted and taken into account. It has helped me develop better in terms of communication and security as well. In the future, I will help other people by teaching my knowledge currently acquired in the academy to those who need it. In the same way that I received it, they can prosper in their development.
Having individual and small group classes has helped me to be more careful with my pronunciation and writing, to be able to speak more natively and more fluently than I ever did before. I have learned many phrases that can help me with my creativity and speaking. I use the English I've learned in my school education and to help my family.
The Virtual English Academy has inspired me to never stop, never give up, to keep learning, and to tell others about this great academy. I like that it has helped me a lot with my schoolwork and to be ready for everything that happens. It has motivated me to stop pollution and take care of the earth. My experience has gotten a lot better since I've started having 1:1 and small group classes. I like both ways, to be with other students or alone with the teacher. I have used my English skills to help my family with things they don't understand, to communicate with my family, to watch programs, and for school.
I volunteered with Outreach360 the summer before my senior year of college. I had decided I wanted to apply for a Fulbright grant to teach English abroad, and I wanted to gain some experience with teaching before I applied. This is how I found Outreach360. One of the best parts about getting involved was that no experience is required, and Outreach360 provides training to make sure all the teachers are as successful as possible. My time with Outreach360 allowed me to gain valuable experience and further cemented my desire to teach English. I learned different teaching strategies based on the needs of each kid I worked with. The kids and other teachers in this program are all amazing, and volunteering quickly became my favorite part of the day. I highly recommend getting involved with this amazing organization.
It is extremely rare to find a nonprofit that does its job as well as Outreach 360 does. I highly recommend it as a volunteer experience.
I have volunteered for several nonprofits since retiring as a teacher, many in Latin America, many with teaching as a focus. In my experience volunteering I had come to expect a certain amount of chaos, disorganization and amateurish reinvention of the wheel as part of the package. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not at all the case with Outreach 360. From the first day of training (a great rarity) to the last note of appreciation (another rarity) I experienced a superb organization, run with competence, vision, and a great deal of respect for volunteers, staff and students.
The onboarding was expertly handled by the talented and capable team of the academic director and the President/CEO. After the orientation we joined our virtual classes five days a week. Outreach 360 has chosen a good curriculum from a credible publisher. My sessions were run by a university student from Nicaragua. He was very well organized, showed a lot of insight into the students, oversaw a well-paced schedule and incorporated input from the volunteer teachers.
All the staff at Outreach 360 showed a great deal of respect for their volunteers, who range greatly in age and experience. The staff made a point of communicating with us regularly, both informally and with a mid-term questionnaire. They responded to feedback about the students in a way that showed that they genuinely cared about them.
The students were amazing. The ones I worked with were very committed and showed noticeable progress in English during the months I was there. It is delightful when a ten-year-old Nicaraguan begins to understand knock knock jokes. Although it may sound trivial, it demonstrates a deep comprehension of a foreign language.
Outreach 360 is a worthwhile organization that is extremely well run. I highly recommend it.
Outreach360 is an exceptional nonprofit organization that has truly redefined the meaning of global impact and educational empowerment. With an impressive 28-year track record, their commitment to providing transformative educational opportunities for students in Latin America is nothing short of remarkable.
One of the standout initiatives that showcase their dedication is the Virtual Impact Program. Through this innovative program, volunteers from all corners of the world are seamlessly connected with eager students throughout Latin America. What sets this program apart is its emphasis on breaking down barriers and enabling access to education through the Virtual English Academy. It's heartening to know that students attend this after-school program on a full scholarship, demonstrating Outreach360's unwavering dedication to inclusivity and creating pathways for learning.
As a virtual volunteer, my personal experience with Outreach360 has been exceptional. The organization's commitment to making a difference is palpable from the very beginning. The support I received was unparalleled - from a comprehensive orientation and thorough training to access to a well-structured curriculum and teaching materials. This level of preparation ensured that I could make the most of my volunteer journey and truly maximize my impact on the lives of young learners.
What truly resonated with me is how Outreach360 values its volunteers. By providing opportunities to give back through virtual volunteering, the organization has harnessed the power of technology and connectivity to create a global community of change-makers. As a Virtual Volunteer English Teacher, I not only had the privilege of helping students achieve their language learning goals, but I also gained invaluable international teaching experience and professional development through their thorough training program.
The beauty of this volunteer experience is its simplicity and accessibility. Armed with just a computer, an internet connection, and a genuine passion for teaching, I was able to connect with motivated students who were hungry for knowledge. It's a testament to Outreach360's visionary approach that they have managed to harness the potential of technology to bridge geographical gaps and create meaningful connections that transcend borders.
In a world where education is a cornerstone of progress, Outreach360 stands as a shining beacon of hope. Their dedication to making education accessible, coupled with their unwavering support for volunteers, has left an indelible mark on my heart. I am immensely grateful to have been a part of this organization and to have contributed, in my own small way, to the brighter future of the students in Latin America. If you're seeking a meaningful use of your time, I would recommend spending your time with this group.

I spent last Fall teaching the most amazing group of children. I am a professional ESL teacher who teaches online. Most of my students are high school, university, and professionals who need English for business purposes. There was a pop-up request for volunteers to teach English to elementary school students scattered across Latin America. These classes are free to students who otherwise can not afford the additional schooling. English is an important language since it will help them economically as they become working adults. Materials are provided free of charge, classes are daily, and best of all there are additional enrichment classes teaching current technology. I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am by this group. Will I continue volunteering with them? I will and look forward to this next semester.
This organization is doing amazing things and I'm grateful that I found it. I would highly recommend this organization if you want to serve.
I wish I could give them more than five stars LOL.
My experience as a volunteer at Outreach360 was the most amazing thing that has happened to me this year. I'm so honored that they chose me to be part of their team. The support I had from day one was out of this world. The team is very professional and always willing to help, the students are beautiful souls and I enjoyed every second with them. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you Outreach360
For six weeks I taught children ages 8-10 fundamental English principles via zoom. The kids were very well behaved and always curious, and all in all a joy to teach. I also got my TEFL certification through this role which was a very big plus.
I spent my summer being a volunteer English teacher with Outreach360. It was a great experience and I learned so much about being a teacher and the teaching profession. All of my coteachers and leaders were also very helpful and kind-hearted. They made me feel welcomed, and always were there to support us in case of a technology issue, or anything else that came up. The kids I taught were extremely intelligent and respectful, and seeing them everyday for class became a joy. Definitely would recommend Outreach360! ❤️
Had such an incredible, fulfilling experience working with Outreach360! Felt like my Spanish improved over the course of the session, but more importantly, I was able to create amazing bonds with my students. I really do feel like I was learning just as much as my students were—so grateful to have had this opportunity.
I've just completed my first session as a Virtual English Teacher with Outreach 360. It was a great experience for which I thank The Lord Jesus Christ so much, because I truly believe He gave me this opportunity. The teachers, as well as the students, are very patient, welcoming, accepting and really helpful. It has made for a smooth transition from training to actually being responsible for my own set of students. It was so easy to fall in love with the students. I couldn't stand the thought of not seeing them again, so I decided to return for another session.
My time in Outreach360 was heartwarming and wholesome. The team makes sure you are ready to go with Zoom and the student platform before you start teaching. There's a training part, and teacher meetings so everyone's on the same page. The program is very organized. They share with you a lesson plan, and a class structure full of resources to work with every day. And for the fun part, you get to work with an amazing and engaged group of kids. The energy put into this program influences not only the children but everyone involved. And it's impressive and fun to see how curious and creative the children are. They learn a lot in such a short period of time. I was able to see commitment and effort put in order to make things possible for everyone, and that only reflects that they'll keep going forward. I'm grateful for the time I could share here and for the awesome people I had the chance to meet.
Hi. They are incredible and really supportive. Youcannot imagine how amazing and kind and engaging students are. Thank you Outreach360 for your impact on teachers and students. 5 stars
A fun, rewarding, and engaging experience. It was amazing to become close with my fellow teachers and students. It was so cool to see improvement among the students that I was teaching!
I had an amazing time during my 6 months teaching with Outreach360! Everything was way better than i expected, from the structure and materials provided to the people that i got to meet. I'd definitely recommend this program to anyone who is interested in volunteering as an English teacher.
Outreach360 has done wonders for me! Becoming a Volunteer teacher and working with the students and co-teachers was life changing and I would highly recommend any one who wants to pursue a career in teaching or anyone who wants to make an immediate impact on these students lives to join and be apart of Outreach360! I will never forget the memories that I have made with my students and the experience that I have gained in becoming the teacher that I am today. Outreach360 is an organization that the world needs, helping young students learn and thrive in a safe and healthy environment is what they are all about and I am blessed to have been part of it all!
I have had the privilege to be involved with this incredible organization on more than one occasion and the experience never fails to exceed my expectations. You are supported throughout your time with the organization and feel like a valued member of the team. Helping support young children as they develop their English language skills is an amazing and rewarding experience . Another element to my experiences with this organization that I find particularly special is the many lessons these young children teach me along the way and the many opportunities for personal growth.
This has been an expectational journey for me. From the beginning of the training session I had no idea how to operate Zoom neither to teach online. However, Teacher Coco and Teacher Adie made everything so easy for me. I love teaching with Outreach 360, it's such a wonderful experience to have. All the teachers have been supportive of one another and I have made many friends with teachers' all over the world.
I began being part of this organization when I was seven years old. There were people from all around the world teaching English to us (we were people from low resources). They provide us with a high quality education that we won't easily find here in our country. On the everyday classes, when I was a kid, we read fun books, learned, played and had a great time with them. I have spent more than 10 years with this nonprofit organization, and I'm so grateful and glad to have the opportunity to be part of it. They really effort in giving all the resources and help you need, to learn English. They cover other subjects, such as: Spanish, Math, Science, and more. I had the opportunity to graduate high school with honors, last year, and it was a big part thanks to the help I got from it. I have had awesome education, I've met so many people from different countries, professional development opportunities and months of experience teaching English to Young learners in this nonprofit. I'm so happy to see how these last years it has grown so much on quality and quantity.
I'm Tipan from Indonesia. I've been sharing my experiences with my friends about how awesome it is to get an opportunity to serve virtually in outreach360. Indeed, tho our time zone is like 12 hours away but every time I woke up to teach around 3 am, I feel so energetic because of the vibe only speaks positivity. Everyone is amazing individually, it's also really inclusive. I am soo grateful to be part of this.
Outreach360 is a great place to be. My experience from training, academic English classes with my students and leadership are amazing opportunities I would never want to part.
I've been with the organization since I was nine years old. Since then, I have met so many amazing people that have changed my life completely. Outreach360 didn't just teach me English; they taught me to have dreams much bigger than the ones I could have come up with on my own. Being part of this organization is the most incredible opportunity I've ever had in my life.
This is a completely life changing experience, It has opened many doors that will be helpful for my future. I am going forward to achieve all my goals and dreams that I have since I was a child. This experience has also given to me the chance of meeting amazing persons, persons that I know have made an impact on me, and I know I will be lifely thankfull with all this great persons.
I am a volunteer Teacher Phumzile, i was initially dazzled by the leadership style of Coco and Adie( top management staff) which is transformational, something rare. They are accepting, even-tempered, innovative and strive to bring out the best of everyone. They develop students in totality, not just academically. The environment is "cosy" and electrifying. The students are well-behaved, smart and striving for excellence. 360 degrees is a revolution angle which is what Outreach360 is all about!
Its been an amazing experience working with Outreach360 as a virtual teacher volunteer ,the past 6weeks has been really fulfilling.
thank you for this wonderful experience.
I really believe in this organization. Through the years, I have been seeing many students and families in my country, learning, growing, sharing with this organization. Many of them today, have the opportunity to get a job because of this.
I first joined Outreach360 as a 2-week volunteer back in 2004 and I have been involved with the organization ever since, wearing different hats both in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and now virtual! I now serve as our Virtual Impact Program Director and President. I am excited about how our organization was able to adapt to a virtual world and I just love seeing our volunteers connect with our students across Latin America in Zoom rooms! Our Virtual Impact Program connects volunteers from across the globe with students throughout Latin America, who attend our after-school Virtual English Academy free of charge. Together, volunteers and students bridge cultures digitally and inspire and empower each other to reach their potential. We have opportunities for teenagers, young adults, and professionals!
Our Episcopal school had just lost a treasured connection with an Episcopal School in Santiago, República Dominicana, in 2011, but we were fortunate to receive promotional materials from Outreach 360 at just that moment. We planned our first volunteer experience in Monte Cristi in 2012, and we were overwhelmed by the simple, happy work of teaching English and the welcoming home into that small town. Over eight years running, we have seen the power of "poco a poco" sustainable development in the community, in the buildings and above all in the Dominican elementary students we first taught who are now volunteer leaders within the Outreach 360 program as they work towards college degrees. When my students witness how much they can empower young Dominicans like Griselis and Pedro by opening up the world of English, it encourages them to take action back at home as teaching assistants, as mentors and as active learners. As a teacher, I know that one week a year helps each of us make a bigger impact than we can any other week, because we are part of a chain of many volunteer weeks working with our local Dominican partners in simple, meaningful ways.
I started my journey with Outreach360 in 1996. I have made many, many trips as a volunteer and know the experience can be life-changing. I don't go as often as I once did but as a donor and board member I am so proud of this organization. I know that my money is well-managed and makes it possible for many children to have a better education and more opportunities than they might otherwise have. The inspiration our volunteers and students both get and give never fails to make me so thankful that I am part of Outreach360.
Outreach360 is helping underserved communities better their lives and help themselves through education.
The inspiring, dedicated staff do so much for these kids to give them opportunities they deserve. It was a privilege to work alongside the staff as a volunteer.
My family and I have volunteered with Outreach360 six times over the last eight years and have loved every minute of it. They do exceptional work with highly deserving kids and really make a meaningful impact in the communities they serve. Highly recommended!
Outreach360 has had a huge impact in my life and my family's too. Since Outreach360 started in Nicaragua back in 2010, my little sister has been part of the Learning Center program, improving her English skills and now teaching what she has learned to younger students. That was the fuel that motivated me to volunteer for the first time in 2016 when I was in college. Education is just the greatest weapon to change the world. That idea made me volunteer and serve again every year since then. Currently, I am an OLÉ Volunteer Leader in the Dominican Republic, where I have the opportunity to support amazing students and short-term volunteers.
I had the opportunity to volunteer at this amazing nonprofit after graduating from college. While in college, I went on a couple of one-week volunteer trips. When I went to Outreach360 I had an idea of what I was going to do during my time there. Those trips were eyeopening and life-changing, but Outreach360 had the biggest impact on my life. Knowing how much of an impact it had on my life I can't imagine the impact I made with the students I served.
Our family volunteered with Outreach360 in both Dominican Republic & Nicaragua and it changed our lives! Our kids were 6, 9, and 12 the first time we participated; it was amazing to see our kids teaching other children English and feeling the joy that comes from doing service. The staff at Outreach360 were wonderful in leading us through lesson plans, teaching us about the culture of each location, and helping us integrate into the volunteer experience in a meaningful way. Another wonderful part of our time with Outreach360 was meeting some amazing volunteers from all walks of life! We highly recommend Outeach360 for anyone looking for a “turnkey” (your housing and meals are taken care of) service experience that will both change your life and the lives of the children you are serving. You can go alone (there will be staff there to work with you), take a friend or school group, siblings or parents, or better yet your entire family!
Though I’ve never been to Nicaragua or the DR to volunteer with Outreach360 the people working within the organization and the kids are inspiring. Hearing stories of the kids in Nicaragua, made me laugh out loud and inspired me to donate. It’s an honor to play even a small part in what are bright and hopeful futures. Outreach360 is an amazing example of volunteerism with love as the forefront in everything they do.
Outreach360 is an amazing organization! I am so humbled to have had the chance to work alongside them and I am forever grateful for the life changing experience I had while teaching their students.
Outreach 360 is doing wonderful work in a critical location, I had an amazing time volunteering with them! From lesson planning to student interaction, every step of the volunteer process felt important and enjoyable.
Couldn’t imagine my life without this organization. Grateful every day for their approach to sustainable community development.
Outreach360 changed my daughters life and it’s trajectory and consequently changed mine. As often happens with young adult children (I like to think with our encouragement) reach for their dreams, work hard for them and find them in the most surprisingly wonderful way. They pull us along and we find our selves sharing. Outreach360 is a wonderful, full hearted, successful non- profit. Going myself to Nicaragua volunteering was a life lesson for me. I learned a new level of compassion and that I do have an ability to connect with children and hopefully make a difference in their lives and futures. I felt like my parenthood expanded in such a beautiful, universal way. Even if someone is not able to go and experience teaching them yourselves… one should seriously consider donating to this most worthy cause.
Outreach360 holds such a special place in my heart. The love the students and community has for O360 is unmatched. O360 has greatly impacted my life for the better! I am grateful for the times I have had to pleasure to serve alongside them.
I am absolutely in love with this organization! I´ve volunteered twice in Nicaragua, first for two weeks and then three weeks. The organization is extremely ethical and thinks deeply about the well-being of the students, volunteers, community, and employees. There was consistent guidance from long-term volunteers and knowledgeable employees in regards to the tasks that were required of us as short-term volunteers. In addition, they brought us to local sites of interest to learn about Nicaraguan culture.
I can´t remember the exact time schedule, but a typical week, the last time I volunteered in summer 2015, was the following: breakfast around 8am, work at 8:30 until lunchtime (approximately 11:30/12pm), an hour/hour and a half lunch, then back to work with the second group of students in the afternoon (approximately 1pm-4pm). There were different groups in the morning and afternoon. While the volunteers taught English to half the group, approximately 7-10 students, the other half learned Spanish literacy (taught by a local Nicaraguan teacher). A long-term volunteer (a two-year position, similar to the Peace Corps) assists with lessons and lesson planning. As short-term volunteers, we were required to lesson plan at night (with guidance from staff/written outlines) and teach during the day. Local visits (all optional) included a coffee shop, a hike up the local mountain, visits to the market, and a church service. A longer trip is frequently available to a local eco coffee plant, which I also greatly enjoyed.
I 100% recommend this organization for anyone volunteering, for the first or hundredth time. I hold this organization as a standard for other organizations that I choose to work with.
Outreach360 has motivated me to change my life path. This program inspires positive change, not only in the volunteer's lives, but also in the student's lives that Outreach360 educates. I think it is rare to find that in a non-profit organization, but Outreach360 has far exceeded my expectations time and time again. I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone!
