I really like Outdoor Adventures mission concerning conservation. My family and I volunteered with Outdoor Adventures and the Nebraska State and Parks Commission in the planting of new trees at several Omaha State Parks. It was great for my children to experience the act of contributing to the upkeep/beautification of our States parks and wildlife. Learning the importance/benefits of planting new trees for our ecosystem and life itself. I've also taught basic fishing skills to Omaha Boys and Girls clubs, a activity most of those kids have never experienced. While not actually fishing on those particular days, the use of simulated rods and magnetic fish, was a great way to introduce the sport by simulating the use of a fishing rod, including attaching the hook (magnetic), how to cast, and catching the fish (setting the hook/magnet to magnetic fish), and reeling in your catch. And of course educating the kids on the importance of "catch and release" when fishing. With this introduction, Outdoor Adventures hopes create a new interest/hobby for a child, and does provide equipment for those financially unable to purchase the equipment. Ourdoor Adventures will also provide 1 to 3 day fishing licenses to those who would like to give such activities a try.
