A BEAUTY CONTEST FOR PEOPLE ATTEMPTING TO RESCUE A DOG
Attempted to adopt a dog by following Outcast Rescues "process" which included filling out the long form that asks for personal information and references. References were contacted. Arranged and provided a home inspection (virtual) exposing the present material condition of the interior and exterior of my home. Next step was to speak with a person identified as the Foster Care Provider for the requested dog. On this phone call, I indicated that I do not permit my dogs to go up on furniture or my bed. This apparently disqualified my application for the dog as the Adoption Coordinator felt another applicant(?) who would allow the dog the "luxury" of using furniture would better serve the dog. If you engage in business with this group, understand that their "process" is arbitrary and apparently subject to undisclosed criteria for "FIT". IF I had any idea I could be treated this way, I would never have filled out the application.
Correspondence with OUTCAST suggests they have every right to request my information and investment of time attempting to rescue a dog but based on line 5 in the header of their application they have no obligation to treat people honestly, fairly or with dignity and respect. The full criteria for "FIT" were not provided in any format and remain unknown; likely they do not exist in writing. FIT in this situation appears to be based on feelings that staff can use to discriminate against potential adopters.
Terrible company! We adopted a dog that bites. Trying to to what is best for the dog, we returned him after three days. We didn't not want the dog to experience the extreme stress . The refused to refund any portion of the $375. AND forced me to sign a waiver that the dog does not bite. They redefined "bite" as needed medical attention. But the dog repeatedly bit. BE WARE!!!!!!! They absolutely LIE about temperament of their animals. Unreal. Very expensive lesson learned. I feel bad for the animals.
Horrible experience!!! They made me feel so bad about trying to do a good thing! - I applied for adopting a dog. They were completely rude and unprofessional during the phone call. I supplied them with everything needed-vet references for my dog and told her I would send the records for my cat later that day from the rescue I adopted her from recently. I also gave my landlord contact information. The girl had an attitude towards me for no reason. I had up to date records for vaccinations and she never contacted my landlord. She emailed me and said my vet said that “I should not adopt a dog” and that I did not give landlord contact info ..?? I gave her a work and a cell number for the landlord. This made absolutely no sense. The vet i use is a personal friend of mine, and I spoke with her. She stated she never would say that, as she knows I am a wonderful mom to my animals. Once I questioned the decision, being that I supplied everything asked, she emailed me to not contact them again. I was really taken back, but no problem. I have a been approved by other rescues, just was trying to broaden my chances of finding a companion. These people were so condescending!! 0 stars
My entire experience with the Outcast Rescue was amazing!! I cant express how much my heart overflows with the happiness that Mr.Marvin is in my home! My virtual home visit with Kim was wonderful.
She is a very kind and understanding and her passion for helping these precious babies shines through!
I recommend this Rescue to anyone without a doubt!
I can’t say enough amazing things about outcast rescue!
I started fostering clementine, a 3 yr old 3 legged pitbull, the day of the PA shutdown.
The minute I brought her home I fell in love. She was so sweet, well trained, and the rescue supported me in every way. They supplied food, medicine, health insurance, tick collars etc. any time I had a question (since i never had a pet) they answered me promptly, gave me advice and helped when it was needed.
This has been the GREATEST experience and I’m so thankful for outcast for bringing clementine into my life, I will be adopting her !
