Mission: OurFaiths, is a web community designed and managed by members of the religious faiths of the world. Founded in October, 2000, by 75 members of all faiths—living in all parts of the globe, OurFaiths is dedicated to the fact that members of all faiths share common values and goals and can and do work successfully together in speaking to each other and to the world on issues of faith. OurFaiths has recognized the individual need for faith in the Divine, fellowship with others, free access to information, and the equality of all believers. As the Internet is part of the process of the democratization of religion and the spiritual growth in faith of the individual, OurFaiths takes the lead in providing chats, message boards, and information on appropriate products and services to the whole person of faith. Member managed, we are the living example that it is not only possible for persons of faith to live together in friendship, but that it is the calling of each of us to be in harmony with all people of all faiths even as we cherish our own. In all things, OurFaiths is guided by the principles of religion. With international recognition for an eight year history of managing online religion communities of all faiths for Prodigy and Microsoft, hosting chats for AOL, the OurFaiths group is uniquely positioned to promote understanding and shed light on issues key to the strife between faiths with the purpose of resolving those issues directly between members of different faiths and the larger world. The people at OurFaiths have been involved in successfully pioneering successive stages of the new communications technologies for their various mainstream religious groups and collectively have considerable insight and experience with which to help further communications both within their own faith and between groups of different faiths. Through fellowship in the new, and still somewhat uncharted geography of cyberspace, OurFaiths brings together the practitioners and adherents of all faiths in discrete online areas under one banner with the guidelines and intimacy needed to foster faith and understanding.
