Run entirely by volunteers, this is a group of hard-working people doing what they do for no other reason than they love the river and will do their best to protect it. But perhaps more important is that they are knowledgeable and effective.

Our Santa Fe River keeps it's members informed about local environmental and water issues. Members regularly receive emails and newsletters. The Board members seem to be informed about every issue and attend countless local governmental meetings.

Look forward to this nonprofit email each weekend. A great comprehensive detailed look at environmental issues across Florida. After reading this email I am able to discuss environmental issues with acquaintances. Besides, this group does the heavy lifting by ensuring that our governmental agencies look out for the environment and the residents of Florida. They attend meetings, read press releases, and encourage others to become environmentally active.

They work very hard to protect our water sources and provide education for great
environmental information about the Springs that feed the rivers and how the rivers
and aquifer, and Springs are treated. They work with farmers, ranchers, industry to see that our water, fish, vegetation is allowed to be healthy and thrive. They have been very successful and continue to promote good management practices for the environment.

Our Santa Fe River is totally grass roots with no paid volunteers. It is the most active small environmental group in North Florida. Its members have multiple projects always on the plate. We publish op-eds frequently in newspapers such as Orlando Sentinel and Gainesville Sun. We are very active fighting a proposed phosphate mine and our work was in an episode of Judy Woodruff PBS Evening News. We attend most of the water management district meetings and many, many meetings of county commissioners. We do river cleanups. We actively opposed the Sabal Trail pipeline and one of our photographs appeared in U.S. News & World Report. At the moment we are fighting a water bottling permit . We also do tabling at many events to educate the public about our water crisis. We also speak to our legislators in Tallahassee and are currently challenging the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for failing to follow the law and protect our water supply. Additionally we are involved in a leadership role in our community with the new Nature's Rights movement

Our Santa Fe River is an very active organization with over 120 members. All are volunteers, no paid salaries. OSFR stopped 4 water bottling plans on the river, fought the Sabal Trail, a chicken CAFO, fracking, and are seriously fighting a proposed phosphate mine on the river. They organize and carry out river cleanups, do fundraising and donate to environmental causes.
This organization acts instead of just talks. Education is a primary goal and they have a powerpoint presentation to instruct.

This is a fantastic group of volunteers that expend limitless energies educating about, taking stewardship of, and advocating for the Santa Fe River and its associated springs and aquifer. We are proud to note that over 90% of our proceeds go directly into program activities, including river and sinkhole cleanups, booths at public events to raise awareness of the beauty of our springs and the threats that need to be curbed, and providing materials and speaking to County Commissions, Water Management Boards and the like to protect our beautiful river.

Our Santa Fe River Inc is a spirited group,of volunteers who carefully watch the environment effecting the wetlands and waterways of north central Florida. I have worked with the members for three years and have traveled with many of them to Commission meetings and legislative events to speak for the clean waters of Florida. They are highly successful in stating their concerns and offering suggestions to protect the health and wellbeing of our natural resources and the citizens who benefit from it.

This group of folks work hard to stay on top of things, "Giving Our River a Voice." They routinely attend meetings and make us aware of things that could potentially go unnoticed until too late...things that would harm our river and springs. I am proud to volunteer for and be a member of Our Santa Fe River Inc.

This group is devoted to educating the public about the perils facing the Santa Fe River that encompasses seven counties in Florida. They are also involved in many stewardship clean up programs and advocate for clean water and increasing minimum flow levels by involving themselves at the government level.

As seen recently in the news, Florida's fresh water is becoming so polluted it is literally turning green from over populations of algae growth that come from overpermitting of water use permits and agriculture and human use pollution that enter our water ways.

This group is spearheaded by some of the most intelligent anthropologists that all volunteer their time and at times, their own finances. Super dedicated group of volunteers!

Our Santa Fe River. Org is an amazing nonprofit organization as it’s main objective is to specifically keep the waters of Florida safe for drinking and farming for generations to come.

By that, the organization does educational outreach, takes time to organize river cleanups for North Central Florida and works to protect the environment especially related to water.
Only the person that creates and maintains our website receives payment for services and all of us volunteer our time, our talents and sweat equity.

This organization is working to repair and protect area rivers, springs and the aquifer in North Florida, with an emphasis on the unique Santa Fe River. It is all-volunteer, with every dime raised going for advocacy, education and stewardship. There is a fairly small group of volunteers who do the majority of the heavy lifting and a larger group of committed volunteers and interested people who get involved on and off throughout the year. It is an excellent way to stay abreast of what is happening of local water issues. Dues are low and a weekly newsletter is quite informative. Can't speak highly enough of work accomplished by this group

Our Santa Fe River Inc. is a non-profit where no one is paid a salary. That is important when I support a non-profit group. The people involved spend time fighting for the Santa Fe River's quality and quantity issues by attending various municipal board meetings such as the Suwannee River Water Management District. When regular and board members attend these meetings, they are doing something that is near and dear to their hearts. They are not reimbursed for gas money nor for wear and tear on their vehicles.

Their recent efforts are focused on preventing a phosphate mine that straddles the New River ( a major tributary that flows into the Santa Fe River) from being built and using manual methods of removing invasive plant species instead of toxic chemicals.

OSFR is a great organization to support with donations and membership.

Our Santa Fe River is the Voice of the beautiful Santa Fe River, an Oustanding Florida Waterway that wends it’s way through northern central Florida and empties into the historic Suwannee River, which ultimately goes to the Gulf of Mexico.
