Results: On a rolling basis, OFW consistently seeks funding opportunities to support our programs. In addition we several fundraisers ranging from online auctions, Ebay sales, garage sales, and much more. We are motivated to do our part in supporting our disabled troops and veterans.

Programs: Transitional Services Transition Service volunteers conduct or participate in pre-discharge transition assistance briefings, the Disability Transition Assistance Program (DTAP), the Transition Assistance Program (TAP), review service treatment records, and confer with Department of Defense and Department of Labor facilitators and other participants in the discharge process. The Transition Service program also allows OFW to assist service members in the development of evidence, completion of required claim applications for veterans benefits administered under federal and state laws. Homeless Veteran Services Many thousands of veterans who defended our country's freedom have been unable to find their way in society. They live in a bleak, hopeless world without decent shelter, adequate nutrition, or medical care. Some of these people are true war heroes who received physical and psychological injuries during horrific combat that few could imagine. OFW helps homeless veterans make the transition from life on the streets to one of productivity and normalcy. We must remain steadfast in our efforts to fulfill our promise to veterans by ensuring that no veteran who honorably served his or her country is ever left behind. Our goal is to establish a partnership between OFW and Federal, state, county, and local governments to develop programs to assist homeless veterans in becoming self-sufficient. Without question, proper VA assistance—including health care, substance abuse treatment, mental health services, education, and job training, etc.—will enable homeless veterans to improve their situations and begin the transition to once again become productive members of the society they served and defended. Direct Assistance OFW Direct Assistance program provides service members, veterans and their families’ assistance with unexpected car repairs, rental assistance, groceries and utility bills. It is not unusual for our troops and veterans to suffer a significant loss of income after injury or during separation. For some families, an error in pay or delays in processing cause them to not receive income—a situation that may not be corrected for months. Emergency Assistance ensures that the needs of the family, central to quality of life, are met until they are able to provide for themselves. The program also provides for emergency travel, often for medical care, including lodging, gas and food while on the road and receiving treatment. Our Forgotten Warriors full range of services.
