Gone are the days of volunteers. The CALL VOLUME has quadrupled in recent years. Providing 24 Hour ALS (Advanced Life Support comes with a price. Ossining Ambulance now employes Paramedics and EMT's on a per diem and full times basis they have 2 full crews at all times plus they are also home to the ALS fly car which is part of the Tri-Community EMS district. They are NOT funded by government. They are vasucally self sufficient. They also have 3 State of the art ALS AMBULANCES ready at all times. In addition to providing EMS to Ossining they have become an integral part of the war against COVID. doing testing and vaccinating by appointment. All if this comes with a cost. Anyone who can write a complaint and critcize them really needs yo understand that ANY MUNICIPALITY that provides EMS care will BILL for service. Probably at a higher cost. 99 % of people have some sort of insurance that will certainly cover the cost of transport. We are BLESSED TO HAVE THE BEST EMS SYSTEM IN THE STATE RIGHT HERE IN OSSINING.!

Absolutely shameful, unprofessional service. I called this service through 911, Ossining NY for my father, twice in the last 2 weeks. The EMT’s demeanor is disgusting- no introductions, no care for the family , rude, rough and gosh, wish I did not need them ! Mentioned it to the Ossining police officer who accompanies them, he said, “he’s the wrong guy to talk about their behaviors, they are good guys”. God help us.

Warning - Outrageous charges. My low rating is due to the outrageous amount of money ($1,080) they charged to take me 9 miles from my home in Ossining to Westchester Medical Center. They did not provide any ALS or even BLS services. I dislocated my shoulder and could not sit or stand straight so they lay me on their stretcher and took me to the ER. They are a volunteer corp but are allowed to do business as a private company, I guess. Either way, $1,080 to take someone in excruciating pain 9 miles without first warning of the exorbitant cost is shocking and should be illegal.
