Mission: Part i, line 1 and part iii, line 1 (continued)- for the benefit of the kosciusko county region, we seek to support the long-term sustainability and growth of warsaw's orthopedic community through charitable, educational and scientific activities focused on: talent development, talent attraction and innovation/entrepreneurship.
Programs: Talent development - ocf has supported a talent development initiative as an element of its overall university engagement strategy. An element of the strategy is an awareness campaign that includes a website, a brochure, social media and on-campus appearances to better inform students of opportunities for rewarding careers in the medical device industry. Another significant project within the initiative involved recruiting a team of interns from indiana universities. The interns began work in may 2017 to create a regulatory lifecycle overview that will be used to educate academics and their students regarding the highly regulated nature of the orthopedics industry. (continued on sch. O) (continued) - as part of the overall talent development initiative, ocf also supported a number of development seminars for co-ops and interns as well as cultural enrichment activities to better connect students to our region.
talent attraction - ocf has supported efforts by kosciusko county and 10 other northeastern indiana counties to participate in the state of indiana's regional cities initiative. Our region was approved and a total of 42 million has been allocated for quality of place projects. Ocf has continued our diversity/inclusion efforts through our diversity council, including participation in: city of warsaw first friday events; the sacred heart school culture fair; the annual warsaw diversity rally; and the committee to commemorate martin luther king.
innovation and research - in furtherance of its charitable, educational and scientific purposes, ocf supported planning for a medical device business accelerator to improve the innovation ecosystem in northern indiana. Business models and fund development plans were prepared to support the start-up and operation of the accelerator, which is designed to focus the region's medical device talent and the capabilities of indiana colleges and universities on efforts to stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in the region.
