Mission: The Organic Acidemia Association is a volunteer non-profit organization whose mission is to empower families and health care professionals with knowledge in organic acidemia metabolic disorders. We support early intervention through expanded newborn screening, solicit contributions and distribute funding that supports research toward improved treatment and eventual cures in the areas of Organic Acid disorders.
Programs: Support of various conferences that provides both families and professionals awareness on rare metabolic disorders. The conferences devote time to discussing disorders, medical and nutritional managment, family coping issues, effective drugs, and the latest in research and expanded newborn testing advocacy. The organization hosted a conference in partnership with fod-fatty oxidation disorders and children's national on july 25-26 in arlington, virginia. They provided educational seminars from professionals around the country.
