Programs: Oregon hospice association is a state-wide non-profit membership organization that promotes high quality hospice and palliative care to oregonians as they approach the end of life. The oregon hospice association supports the 54 licensed hospice programs in over 75 locations across the state who provide direct care to terminally ill oregonians and their families. Oregon hospice association's 2016educational events were attended by over 750 health care professionals. The agency participated in media events, public education, industry fora, and college and university education about end of life care. Additionally, the oregon hospice association provided consultation and support to oregonians with questions or concerns about end of life issues. The oregon hospice association's children's grief support program, me, too, provided support to over 60 children and their families. Oregon is a leader in end of life care. Oregonians use more hospice care than do people in 45 other states in the nation. The oregon hospice association continues to particpate as a member of the state-wide physician order for life-sustaining treatment (polst) taskforce. The polst taskforce works to ensure oregonians end of life wishes are met through use of a written physician order.
