Being introduced to OCPBR has changed my life! Not only did it allow me to volunteer with improving and saving the lives of these precious pups, but it also gave my family our beloved Max. I have met so many amazing people with the biggest hearts. ❤️

OCPBR is a small but very mighty group of extremely dedicated individuals looking to help pitbulls everywhere - and it's inspiring! I have had such a great time volunteering with the organization so far, seeing the success stories that come out of the organization and how much love these dogs receive. I cannot wait to do more with the nonprofit and continue to impact the lives of all these pups!

The experience I’m sharing is not my own but one I’ve followed in which OCPBR’s ‘Home is where the pit is’ program helped a woman who fell on hard times due to COVID-19. She not only lost her job but her home as well. Because of her love for her pittie she chose to sleep in her car n not leave him behind. OCPBR assisted her by temporarily fostering her sweet little boy while she got back on her feet. Watching the reunion of mom and pup was heart melting. Scenarios like this are exactly why I support OCPBR. They are a small but mighty rescue who truly advocate and care about this breed, making sure they are in loving homes.

OCPBR is an incredible organization full of true animal lovers. They helped me place my late parents’ senior pittie, with some health issues, into a wonderful new home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We had a very professional and socially distanced dog meeting and evaluation, including having Tara securely and safely meet a few of the rescue’s well trained dogs. Did I mention that Tara was not well socialized? That would be amazing enough but they went above and beyond to evaluate her health with their caring vet and make adjustments to her routine and diet so she could thrive in her new home.

Christine and OCPBR were so loving while also totally professional and gave me hope in a challenging situation. I’ve made a donation and plan to donate again and again in honor of my mother who shared Christine’s love of challenging but wonderful dogs.

I became a forever foster for Bowie from this rescue in 2016. OCPBR is amazing with support for fosters/adopters...with follow up and assistance any time you need assistance. They also do community outreach programs to help keep dogs with their families and helping with vet costs for those who need a little help. I admire their dedication to rescue work which is usually long hours, fundraisers, running on a shoe strong budget and the hard task of having to say no we can’t take on another rescue right now. But the reward this rescue will tell you they get out of rescuing dogs is priceless. Those freedom walks out of the shelter...their first freedom rides and placing them with their forever family is what it’s all about for Orange County Pit Bull Rescue. They definitely deserve to be recognized for their non-profit work.

OCPBR does so many amazing things in the rescue community! Not only do they rescue dogs (mostly Put Bulls), but they educate about the breed, make sure their dogs & fosters are ambassadors for the breed, back their fosters up with whatever support they need and they do an awesome outreach program in the community for people who need financial/vet care help so they can keep their dogs. Christine Bonner has assembled an awesome group of volunteers as well as fosters who she leads and makes it all look effortless. Secretly the woman has to be exhausted! I can’t say enough great things about OCPBR! I have been a proud foster for Bowie an alum of OCPBR for 2yrs now...and basically I am his person

OCPBR is the BEST rescue I’ve ever been able to be a part of. I’ve volunteered for some other rescues, but the passion the volunteers have for this misunderstood breed is more special than anything I’ve ever encountered. Not only are they thorough with their adoption process, the memebers actually UNDERSTAND the breed. They aren’t just a rescue who saves lives, but they also work alongside an amazing training facility to make sure the OCPBR dogs have wonderful training and purposeful outlets going into their new homes. They also give back with their Home Is Where The Pit Is program that helps KEEP dogs with their families. All in all, this organization is one of a kind. ❤️

An amazing rescue that focuses on keeping local pits at home with their families rather than just re-homing. They do a great job of following up with their adopted fosters and helping whenever there is a need can’t recommend this rescue more!

Orange County Pit Bull Rescue is and has been a top notch rescue! I love that they go above and beyond for each and every dog they help, whether by rescueing and taking on a new underdog or as part of their Community Program “Home is Where the Pit is”! OCPBR helped me when I was in dire need for my very ill senior boy Milo. OCPBR helped me with emergency vet care and his ongoing hospice needs . I am forever indebted to OCPBR for helping me get a 1.5 months extra time with my boy .

I have volunteered for and also adopted both of my fur babies from Orange County Pit Bull Rescue. What I loved the most about the rescue is that you could immediately see how much they care for these pups. They do everything with the best interest of these amazing hippos in mind. I feel like I am part of an amazing group of people who are doing great things to save the lives of innocent dogs in need. They really go above and beyond with the work that they do and I am proud to be a part of that.

Orange County pit Bull rescue always goes above and beyond to help dogs in their rescue and dogs that are needing assistance through their out reach program. They are always there ready and eager to assist giving recommendations, training tips, assisting with vet care, spay & Neuter, finding the perfect family for each and every one of their dogs. I give them 5 starts because I am truly blessed to be a part of such a caring organization. I met them through their outreach program. They are truly a blessing.

I can’t say enough good things about OCPBR! After losing our previous dog we were finally ready to add a member to our family. On their site we saw a dog named Dino, we applied to be his new mom & dad after reading his bio. We fell instantly for him. I know after going through OCPBR’s foster to adopt program that we absolutely made the right desision. Everyone who is involved with OCPBR genuinely is an advocate for all of their dogs. They make sure you as an adoptor know all you can about your new dog. Christine and all of the fosters/volunteers go above and beyond to make sure that you and your dog are a great match. They lay much of the foundation in regards to basic obedience training, good leash manners, crate training, house breaking and even provide after adoption support. We are so grateful for all the help in making Dino’s transition from his foster home to his new forever home. We are thrilled to be part of the OCPBR Pack and love seeing some of the other dogs that also were in their program.

We were looking for a new furry family menber and happened upon OCPBR as we were interested with adopting a Pit Bull.
We checked out their website to view their choices of beautiful dogs and one stuck out with me and that was Dino, if a picture could speak, it was his and we set fourth with the adoption.
We received a call from Chritine and she was great in informing us of everything that we needed to know about Dino. She shared with us his past and how he came to be an OCPBR rescue.
We were all in and started the adoption process. Christine and everyone involved wanted to make sure that we were all a good fit and they genuinely wanted the absolute best for Dino. We started with introductions with Dino and met with him several times a week which then led to him coming over to our home to visit with us for a couple of hours in the evening.
We then moved to overnights and the process continued for a short time, all the time Dino rocked it and settled wonderfully.
The traing that Dino received from OCPBR is nothing short of amazing and the care and instruction we received and continue to receive is excellent.
Dino has settled in and is our handsome boy and we are forever grateful to OCPBR for what they do and continue to do for the advocacy of the breed and the owners of these wonderful Pits.

I had decided I wanted to start donating my time and money to a rescue for dogs. I had attended several fundraisers for different rescues and then came across Orange County Pit Bull Rescue. I was immediately taken by their passion for these dogs. I did not become a volunteer right away, wanting to get to know the rescue better. In time it was apparent that this rescues falls nothing short of it's mission statement. They protect, educate and advocate for these dogs. They have Amazing outreach programs that assist current owners so they can keep their dogs. They provide medical care and training. They do what is necessary in order for their rescues to be successful in their forever homes. They do not fall short of their promise to their rescues and that has won my loyalty to them. They are a small rescue with Giant Hearts!!!

I highly recommend the OCPBR if you are looking to volunteer and support a very worthy cause. I have volunteered for the OCPBR for many happy years, and I plan to continue to do so into the future. Over the years, I have witnessed the lifesaving services provided by OCPBR to many dogs, including placement of pets into loving foster homes, veterinary care, food, supplies, and training. OCPBR also assists pet owners lacking the financial means or housing by providing veterinary care, food, supplies, and other assistance via the Home is Where the Pit is initiative..

If you are looking to save lives and advocate for this very loving breed, please support the OCPBR, you will be making a huge difference in the lives of these pets and their families!

Orange County Pit Bull Rescue are true advocates for the breed. Part of truely rescuing a dog involves proper placement and ensuring training is on board. OCPBR backs thier fosters 100%! And supports thier adopters through the life of the dogs.
They also have an outreach program that dedicate funds to helping homeless pets.

Orange County Pit Bull Rescue helped my husband and I get our first dog together. We can't be more grateful that we connected at the time that we did and ended up with what we think is the best pup ever! The support that OCPBR gives to its fosters, and potential adopters is incomparable to almost any rescue group that I have ever worked with or researched. They encourage potential adopters to start as fosters where they can help rescue a dog and are provided all the necessary supplies, food, etc. It really prevents animals being returned to shelters or neglected as they work to find a dog that fits your lifestyle and then support you the entire way through to make sure it is a mutually successful relationship. They encourage and provide heavy training so that animals are set up for success, and the amount of things we have learned about dog ownership, behavior, and interaction with OCPBR is invaluable. They are a small but mighty group and are working to educate the public on Pit Bull type dogs, so that some day the misconception and misunderstanding around these dogs will hopefully be gone!

I started as a volunteer with this rescue in 2010 not long after it founded, became a board member in 2011 and have had the honor of serving as it's Board President since 2013. OCPBR does more than just rescue dogs, we have outreach programs (Home Is Where The Pit Is & P.I.T. 101) which help families KEEP their dogs and also provide low cost group training classes. We of course rescue dogs, place them in foster homes, matchmake to find their forever home and back our dogs for their lives. Above all we advocate for the most misunderstood and abused 'breed' of dogs. We are a small but extremely hard working group of volunteers, we call ourselves The Pit Bull Tribe and are the Little Rescue That Could and DID!!
