From my first volunteer trip with SPLASH in 2009 until now I have been hooked on all that SPLASH accomplishes! They are one of the only grass roots environmental groups with boots on the ground! Their perseverance and stewardship of our bays and wetlands is second to none in our region! From the ongoing reconasense and cleanups to addressing point source pollution at storm drains, sewage treatment plant operations and outfalls no patch of our sensitive wetlands are unaddressed! Beyond the visuals Operation SPLASH has formed alliances with many other environmental groups, universities, and agencies increasing it's presence and influence! Stemming the tide of pollution is best served with robust education programs from elementary schools to college internships to guarantee our influence will secure a more environmentally friendly population for generations to come! From Grandparents to Grandchildren our future environment will be secured!

I have been involved with Splash for three years. I have been to there events and worked on their board. Splash really does a job no one else can do. Splash is not only organized, they work with every other Agency and nonprofit. Splash share information with everyone so they now how the environments health really in in our oceans and storm drains. I also really love their educational programs in the schools. You could learn so much about our environment by attending a sessions as an Adult. I live Splash and believe in their cause.

This group has been cleaning up garbage for over 25 years, from the western bays of Long Island. Their effects are far reaching. The clean up volunteers are self proclaimed "Aqua Garbologists" They are dedicated not only because it makes them feel good, but are helping the ecosystem. Another huge part of Operation SPLASH is the Educational Dept. They are informing thousands of school children about the effects of storm drain runoff and empowering them to make a difference. The children understand that with the power of ONE, they can make a difference and promote Social Change. SPLASH is DOING not just complaining about a problem. The ocean can breath cleaner with their amazing help. The old saying of "May All Being Be Happy and Free" could not be better said for these wonderful people doing a job because its the right thing to do.
