conservation capital program: this program provides grants and loans, primarily to other land trusts, to protect diverse landscapes that includes parks and preserves, as well as working farms and forests in the eastern united states and canada. This program also conducts research and education activities to identify conservation priorities and methods of attracting or developing new financing for permanent conservation. In 2017, the organization made 36 grants, totaling $4. 8 million resulting in the protection of 16,499 acres with a fair market value of $40 million in eleven states and provinces.
