Mission: Open Source Wellness is an Oakland-based nonprofit, operating since 2016. We facilitate the basic practices of health and wellness, including exercise, good food, stress reduction, and social connection. We make these practices accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable in clinical, community, and low-income housing based settings. We facilitate the adoption of healthy behavior patterns which will be sustained in lifestyle changes leading to improved health outcomes and the prevention of lifestyle-related disease.
Results: The Open Source Wellness model is highly efficacious, leading to over 50% drops in depression, anxiety, and isolation, 21-point drops in systolic blood pressure, and a 77% decrease in ER visits and unplanned hospitalizations. Within low income clinics, our work not only improves patient health, and provider experience, but is revenue positive for the clinic. Reach out for more information, or for our published outcomes.
