Open Hand Ministries is a great non profit. They just don’t give people temporary things. Nothing wrong with that. But I’m saying this to say, what OHMs do is giving the necessary financial education and home ownership opportunity to families especially for people of color. They make a profound change in people’s life and in the community through racial and economic justice. I’m grateful for them!

Nonprofit Overview
Mission: We walk with lower-income families on the financial wellness journey journey from surviving to thriving in Pittsburgh's East End. Our Family Development Teamworks program provides individual and group money management skills training. There is a mortage readiness component for participants whose life goal is home ownership. The Construction Services aspect of our program is supported by volunteer labor, which allows us to rehab vacant properties into safe, sound, energy efficient and affordable homes for our qualified home buyers.
