I saw a show with the DC branch of the office. As a social worker regularly working with children in need a psychiatric hospitalization, I was extremely impressed with the work they do on the units. During the performance I witnessed a child point out that a character in the show was not using their "coping skills." This type of program allowed the children to identify and practice some of the skills they were learning on the unit while enjoying themselves in a safe environment.
it was a lot of fun working with little kids, and getting them dressed up, watching them sing, dance, and do a lot of other fun activities. Hope to do it again soon.
They involved us with the children in a way that didn't feel forced and let us have fun along with the kids. I personally got called up to do a ballet dance with a line of little girls while wearing silly hats which was quite a bit of fun especially in front of other kids (and when you're 3 feet taller than every kid it makes for quite a image). All the staff was very friendly and open about getting involved and helping and we very enthusiastic about making the kids comfortable and excited which was nice.
I selected OMB as a Team Building Event for my department @ COACH, Inc. during the holidays. My contact, Chris Tran @ OMB made sure that all of the planning details and the event went off seamlessly. Everyone in my department had a great time! Chris brought everything we needed to make costumes for about 15 kids (crowns, masks and "bling"), all we had to provide was a conference room to set up in. After the costume making and lunch, we went off to a school for Autism here in NYC. Three actors from OMB put on a show for the kids and everyone helped participate and get the kids involved. After the show, we had a cupcake party and handed out goody bags. It was a great day and made even better by Chris' exceptional planning. I would (and will) recommend OMB to anyone looking for a fun, unique way to help kids and bring a little joy to their day.
We worked with Only Make Believe on a Team Building excercise at Coach Inc. Everyone had a really great experience and the energy level was high and very positive. We made costumes at our office (crowns and bling!!) after watching a short video outlining OMB's accomplishments and objectives. We put together gift bags for the children and brought them over to the hospital. At the hospital we decorated for an after party and took part in a play that was put on for the children. After the play we handed out refreshments to the children. Our OMB Team Leader Chris was awesome!!
Our company wanted to find a fun team-building event that also benefited the community in some way. We came upon OMB and presented it to our boss and we knew right away we had hit the jackpot! Our event planning was very easy and only required a few emails/calls to set up. It was so easy to just show up to one of our conference rooms as OMB brought all the supplies for us - and making the costumes was a great way to bond with our team-mates. During the process Chris became one of us, and was very helpful and motivating. Our event at the school for the kids was so rewarding, no words can ever attempt to describe it. I had high expectations and Chris and OMB exceeded them. Something like this is so much more meaningful and rewarding than bowling or other so-called "team-building" events. Everyone on the team was so happy to participate and we received amazing feedback. We are most-likely going to do it every year. I highly recommend this OMB for all the amazing work they do.
