One Love Brigade is music to my ears... !! One Love One Heart as the song goes. I was working with a volenteer group to teach young Jamaican kids to play guitar. My biggest problem was getting enough equipment down to Jamaica . Between 2 of us I could only carry 5 guitars per season . We needed more so the kids could take them home and practice. Then one day I heard about this guy in Minnesota collecting 300 bikes and shipping then to Jamaica . I contacted OLB and asked if they would help ship some guitars and equipment to another charity in Negril. With out hesitation Jon said we love the music . Just get it to Minnesota and they would be glad to deliver it . This was the beginning of my experience with OLB . Its been a great link and I know of at least 6 non for profits that OLB helps out . These guys have taken a crazy idea from the heart and made it reality . Its a massive undertaking to say the least. We now supply wheelchairs -bikes-med supplies-school backpacks and supplies-shoes- We could have never done it with out One Love Brigade ..Much respect !!
One Love Brigade is a non-profit that I’ve supported for several years. As a frequent visitor of Jamaica, I’ve made countless friendships with locals, many of whom, adults, that can’t read or write. The reason for this is mind blowing — many families cannot afford to send their children to school. The government does not provide books or transportation, and with an average unemployment rate of between 20 and 30 percent, something as simple as a bicycle can be the difference between a child getting an education and not. One Love Brigade staff takes no compensation. 100% of the contributions go towards the funding of shipping containers filled with donated bicycles and wheelchairs to the island. This is an organization with heart, and a passion for helping those less fortunate.
These people go above and beyond yo help the people of Jamaica. They helped me personally by getting a wheelchair for a cousin of mine.....these people help us to understand the true meaning of humanitarian
One Love Brigade makes such an impact in the lives they touch. One bike can give a child joy, but can also give a person transportation to a job, or even create a job for someone. And it's more than bikes, the independence they give to those who have never been able to leave their home when they receive a wheel chair!!! Amazing group with BIG HEARTS❤
