My experience with One Love Animal Rescue was amazing. It didn’t take long to be able to bring my new baby home. Communication from the volunteers was great from start to finish, and my pup’s foster Mom was awesome. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I started out by adopting a dog in 2016 from One Love. They asked me if I would be interested in fostering. I wasn't really sure about fostering because how do you let them go to another home once you have gotten attached. My first foster was Rosie, a blind, 3-legged Schnauzer. How was this poor dog going to be adopted? Well, it didn't take long, and Rosie went to a very loving home. Fast forward to 2024 and I have fostered over 200 dogs who have found wonderful loving families. The group works extremely well together whether it be the application process, fundraising, transport, medical, training, and helping with any questions or concerns. We all work as a team. It's a great rescue and I couldn't be happier to have found this group and work with them to help otherwise homeless animals find the best possible homes to spend the rest of their lives with.
Lisa was wonderful to work with. The foster who had our dog was very nice and was happy to have my husband and I visit and answered all of our questions. One Love provided all of his medical records and our vet confirmed he was in good health. We love our Enzo and so happy to have rescued him! One Love does amazing work!

My wife and I were looking to adopt a dog several months after we lost our own family dog. I have adopted 3 dogs from One Love Animal Rescue. The group of volunteers are all so caring and top notch all around. From the initial questionnaires to the meet and greet to the in-home visit to the final handoff, the process is flawless and flows well, with the potential adoptee’s best interest at heart. All animals in their care are well behaved and disciplined, not to mention, incredibly loved. This organization truly wants to find the perfect match for each animal and family. I unequivocally recommend One Love Animal Rescue if you are looking to add some “One Love” to your family.
We recently adopted our Dunbar from One Love Animal Rescue in May of 2024. Dunbar was in the process of training when we adopted him. You could see how much he loved his fosters and how much they loved him. We were given all the tools necessary to help him transition including some food, medications, his blanket and toys. On Dunbar's adoption day, his foster Dad even drove halfway to our home. We live in the Poconos and they live in South New Jersey. It was perfect! We keep in touch with Dunbar updates. One Love doesn't stop caring for their rescues once they're adopted. They have a Facebook page where we can update them on the pets they loved before their adoptions.
We adopted our dog Raven on Oct 29, 2016 from One Love Animal Rescue. They are a FIRST CLASS operation, and we even joined their Facebook just so we could keep in touch to show how pics of Raven for them to see. If you’re looking to adopt, and you SHOULD adopt, One Love is the way to go!!!

One of the best things I’ve ever done is checking out One Love when my family wanted to adopt a dog. They are very thorough in making sure the right family gets the right dog.
They came to our house beforehand, and then we got to meet our dog, Raven. The foster made it clear that if she was too much for us to bring her back. We never even thought about that. We took her to the vet 2 days after we got her, and she had a clean bill of health.
That was four and a half years ago, and this beautiful girl is one of the family! I can’t say enough good things about One Love!!!
One Love brought us our love-Luc.
We appreciated the adoption process. We first had to fill out an application. Then our home had to be approved. After that we got to meet Luc to see he was a good fit for us.

I am so happy that a neighbor told me about the One Love Animal Rescue. We had been wanting to rescue a dog for months when we found one on One Love. The pup we were interested in had a health concern and would not be ready for adoption but One love worked to find us the best match. The process was very thorough. After completing the application I was contacted by a team a people and even had to do a virtual tour of my home and yard. Only after I was approved could we meet with our dog to see if we were a match. Yes!! we were! Luc is such a sweet playful pup and we are so happy. I feel the vetting process that One Love uses is very professional and keeps the dogs best interest at heart. Luc is now in our hearts thanks to One Love.
One love exceeded my exceptions. And I support One Love Animal Rescue. I am so happy with Cocoa and how well she was treated at One Love. She is becoming a dog again. A very sweet dog.

We adopted Eddie approximately 6 months ago and his foster mom Dawn was a pleasure to work with. She brought him to our house to make sure we were compatible and our home was a safe environment for him. I was a foster home for One Love animal rescue. I never had to ask twice for anything i needed for the animals. They knew we were the ones who knew these pets and our word counted! I also became an adopter.
We had recently lost our 1dog & our remaining dog was completely lost without her. We knew she would be the one who ultimately decided who our next fur baby would be & we were able to find her a best friend at One Love. We saw a potential match & the organization did everything they could to help us to get her. They are inseparable today ❤️.
After my friend adopted her pup through One Love, I attended several events and met some of the most caring and dedicated people; we were searching for a new fur baby after our poodle passed; I immediately wanted to work with One Love Rescue and put in our application; after 3 months the foster mom sent me a text and we met and fell in love; there was never any pressure to adopt a pup that wouldn’t work for us; One Love Rescue is the best!
I began volunteering with One Love Animal Rescue 3 1/2 years ago. I have been very educated in all aspects of Rescue, dog ownership responsibility, adoption, etc. I now foster with this organization as well as have adopted 2 of my current dogs from them. The support and communication that is offered goes above and beyond. They stay connected with their adopters. They are very thorough in their application process to ensure safety and that every adoption is the right fit for the humans as well as the dogs.

This is a fantastic charity that really cares about the animals. They were pleasant to deal with and I liked that they took the time to interview me, check out my home and make sure the animal was going to the right home. I adopted Millie (formerly Emma) almost two years ago and she has really come out of her shell. We just love her so much!

I had to send my dog Baby over the rainbow bridge two years ago. I swore I wouldn’t get another dog for a long time. The hurt was too much. Well, a month later I saw One Love at a meet and greet in New Jersey and met my Tilly fka TT and fell in love with that little fur baby. Thanks to One Love, who carefully screened me and my vet references, something I find very crucial, I was rescued by my fur baby and can’t imagine my life without her having been part of it.

The dogs are fully vetted - spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, and receive any medical care needed before being adopted out. We adopted 4 dogs from this rescue. The people there are top-notch. The dogs receive outstanding medical care, spend time decompressing in a foster home before adoption, and care is taken to match them to the right forever family. This is an all-volunteer non-profit, and the board members and volunteers work tirelessly to save as many lives as they can. We adopted from other rescues before, but none compare to One Love!
This organization does wonderful work rescuing at-risk dogs, providing needed medical and grooming attention, placing them in caring foster homes, and finding permanent adopters for them. They are mindful of the needs and welfare of the dogs when they screen potential adopters and engage in follow-up to make sure all is well following adoption. We adopted a senior dog who was in pretty bad shape when rescued by One Love, such that one eye needed to be removed. One Love funded that surgery and fostered her until she was ready for us. She has settled in very nicely with the remainder of our small senior dog pack and is enjoying the good life.
This organization is completely unresponsive to potential adopters. We have filled out an application as well as emailed all required information to them as well as sent a follow up email. We have yet to hear a single word from them. If you are serious about adopting a pet, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

So sorry for your negative experience with One Love. We make a huge effort to respond to inquiries and applications as quickly as possible. However, since we are an all-volunteer organization, we sometimes have other pressing issues that need to be addressed first. Additionally, if there is an overwhelming number of applications and/or inquiries on a specific animal, it may take us a longer than normal time to respond. So sorry that you did not receive a response to your application.
One Love Animal Rescue is a fantastic rescue. All Volunteer based. We adopted two dogs already from One Love. The adoption process was a wonderful experience. They make sure to match you with the right dog. All the dogs and cats are with foster families first and you can meet them at their foster homes. One Love has such a smooth adoption process. They were communicative, responsive, and very easy to work with. We appreciate all the resources they provided when we adopted our sweet pup (our first dog). We also loved that they want you to take puppy obedience classes. It's smart to ensure your dog is getting a great foundation to be set up for success in life.

I adopted my sweet Chester from One Love and I just adore him. They were very detailed in the process, they want to make sure you are a good fit. And they made sure that I was qualified. They are looking out for their best interest! After I was approved, it moved quickly. I met Chester and took him home that day. He is my sweet and sassy boy! I’m very happy I opened my heart, after I lost my chihuahua Chloe.

We applied to adopt a dog from many rescues; with no luck. Then we saw Jordan on Pet Finder; applied on Monday and received a call from OLAR on Friday; and we were approved to Foster-Adopt our beloved JoJo (aka Jordan). Jordan was heart worm positive and was not spayed. Dawn was there to answer all of our questions during Jordan’s treatment. Jordan got really sick during her HW treatment, Dawn called me right back and told me to get Jordan to the vet. Dr. Campbell of Old York Animal Hospital treated Jordan and she recovered.
We love our JoJo, she has brought so much happiness to our lives, she is so sweet. JoJo is still adjusting to her new life, we are so happy to have her.

We adopted our dog from OLAR, and then a year later decided to become fosters. It’s been an easy and fluid role, with lots of support from OLAR. I’m very happy be part of this organization.
As a founding Board member of One Love Animal Rescue I am very proud of the work we do. I was able to see our wonderful processes and support in action when I adopted my boy Jimmy from One Love Animal Rescue a few years ago. Jimmy was a young adolescent pitbull we pulled from ACCT Philly. He was ill-mannered and needed some special training which One Love provided. I always felt supported by the rescue people around me and can only imagine that our adopters feel the same way. Jimmy is now a model canine citizen and is my dog testing dog. One Love and Jimmy are two of my passions.
I met OLAR at a farmer's market and fell in love instantly with one of the dogs (corgi mix) they brought. I went over and the members were so nice and friendly. We filled out an application and everything went so smooth and they were constantly communicating. They were one of the best experiences I had. June gets along like one of the family with the other dogs.

I discovered One Love Animal Rescue at a farmer's market. I fell in love immediately with one of their adoptable dogs. The foster mother was super nice and we completed the application immediately. Everyone that I spoke with to get the application approved was super nice and beyond helpful! I was kept informed every step of the way. After adoption, I was also able to continue reaching out to the foster mom to ask questions about little things that popped up so that I could address them with my new family member right away. I'll definitely consider adopting from them again in the future and will share my story with others.

I have adopted from and sometimes foster for One Love. I admire their thorough assessment of each potential adopter and the guidance they provide throughout the entire process. We were looking for an adult pit mix that would be good with cats. We spotted our boy on their adoptable dog page, and immediately put in an application. We heard from them the next day. We had a virtual homecheck, and our references were checked. Within a coupe of days the fosters brought Bohdi to our home to meet us, and two days later he was ours. They were supportive, professional, and six months later still checl in to make sure everything is fine. I have since recommended this rescue to two friends. One has already her dog, and the other friend recently filled out an application.

My husband and I rescued our beloved Chihuahua Mickey from One Love 7 years ago.
We live in PA the inquiry process was easy, though we could tell the best interest of the pets were One Loves main concern.
A meeting was scheduled once we passed the initial application process. This meeting consisted of their staff bringing our fur baby from NJ to our home.
That discovery process was good, as we had an opportunity to meet and learn if we could mesh with him.
That was successful. We paid the adoption fee online and the rest was history.
7 years later (much too late for this review) we are and will forever be grateful for One Love. Our fur baby succumbed to heart disease and we miss him dearly. Once we are ready to adopt again, we will most certainly seek out assistance of the helpful and kind staff at One Love.
I found One Love Animal Rescue Group through google and instantly fell in love with one of their cats they had in their foster system. Reading through their website I saw that they had a very thorough and effective adopting process and seemed liked they took good care of their pets. Even during COVID I was able to quickly set up a virtual appointment with my dream cat and adopt him soon after. All members I talked to were knowledgeable and informed. I have no qualms at all! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great pet.

We recently adopted a dog from One Love Animal Rescue Group. We were looking for a dog for a couple of months and dealt with quite a few other rescue groups. Some were good, and some not so good. One Love Animal Rescue is a fantastic group of people who do an outstanding job matching homeless animals with their most perfect fitting home. Their network of volunteers is well organized and very professional. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Emails were answered quickly, as were texts and phone calls. We ended up with a great little girl (Jade - formerly Star) who has made our lives complete again after losing our boy Otis. I can't say enough about Dawn and Kari. They've help us through some issues with Jade, and are always there to answer any questions we have. Kari even boarded Jade for us when we had a family emergency and had to leave town for 11 days. I highly recommend One Love to anybody looking to adopt a new furry family member.
A companion animal rescue which shows it really cares. When I first applied, the dog I was interested in was already adopted. OLAR continued to contact me from time to time if something looked interesting and understood as I deferred making up my mind for some time. Made us feel they were truly interested in adopting animals to the RIGHT people. Also, their foster families are caring, devoted, generous animal lovers. The foster family we dealt with invited us into their home weekly for the month it took to finalize adoption of our puppy (he wasn't quite old enough yet). I ALWAYS recommend OLAR to anyone searching for a new pet.
We adopted brother and sister kittens. One love cares for their pets so greatly and triple checked my family to make sure that the kittens were going to a great home. They worked with me on the date that I would be able to bring the kittens home and the kittens are so well adjusted, such little sweet hearts. I would definitely adopt from them again.

We wanted a senior dog not a puppy and took one look at Snoop and I said to Michael let's see if we can get her. It didn't take to long for us to be approved. She's really the dog we always wanted. Doesn't bark inappropriately. Well trained too. It was a big help with the assistance for her dential surgery since we did spend the money for her orthopedic beds so that helped a lot. She will be happy here as we love her so much already.
I found Pebbles, now Cami, through a friend who is a volunteer with One Love. She was being fostered by Dawn who was beyond helpful, extremely knowledgable, and very understanding as we are rather new dog parents. She would send me daily pictures and updates. When I went to pick Cami up, she gave me food and a harness to take Cami home with because I over estimated her size. She gave me so many helpful tips on crate training, a very solid schedule, and other things. It would have been a rough transition for all of us without her help. We are so very happy to have Cami. She was a great addition to our family and we are thankful for Dawn and all of her help. Cami has been such a good fur sister to our older puppy. She has brought lots of laughs and so much happiness to all of us
I have volunteered for many rescues over the years, and I can tell you OLAR is doing it right! They’re organized, thorough, and never cut corners. They have a multitude of resources including Veterinarians, Trainers, Groomers, and Photography. The Board is composed of college educated volunteers that assist in the business side of rescue. They do right by the animals they rescue, and the fosters and volunteers that work with them. They also provide everything your foster needs while in foster care, offsetting a lot of personal cost a foster would usually pay out of pocket. They provide education for their fosters and volunteers, whether behavioral seminars or training for online Pet Portals. Which leads me into marketing! This is also a big win for this rescue, they keep their social media and website up to date, not to mention fundraisers regularly. Their adopters know the animals they take home were well cared for, trained, and healthy! High recommend!
I first heard of One Love because of one of their fosters Suri. Her page showcased her and I started following OLAR. Fast forward a few months I went to an adoption event to meet Lucky. Well her and I did not connect and I met this amazing guy Ice. I put my app in buts sadly it wasn't the best.meet with my dog I had. I decided I didn't want to give up on Ice and became a volunteer. I have been with this group for over 5 years and foster failed with 2 dogs and I have not looked back. I love every opportunity provided, I love seeing the happy ever afters for the fosters.

I adopted my dog from OLAR - NJ in July. Little Maisy (nee Precious) came to the shelter from Alabama where she had been neglected for 7 months. When she arrived she was in pretty bad shape. OLAR and her foster mom Jane, took care to get her the needed surgery, dental work, all tests and vaccinations. I could tell when I visited Maisy at Jane's home that she was very well cared for. I liked that OLAR conducted a virtual home visit to ensure that we were a good match. I'm so happy that Maisy is in my life now. From the moment we showed interest in our dog Honey by viewing her bio and picture on PetFinder, One Love Animal Rescue Group was a pleasure to deal with. The people at One Love are dedicated to finding perfect matches for their rescue animals. Honey's foster family even sent a family member to our house to repair our broken gates in our backyard so that Honey would have a safe place to roam around. We love Honey very much and are very impressed with how dedicated, protective, and caring the people at One Love are.
I adopted my lil Oscar in May 2020. One Love Animal Rescue provided such great care, advice, information for me and they were so thorough in making sure I would provide a proper & responsible home for my new handsome pup. That really made me respect them so much. Oscar was fostered with a lot of love and he was ready to join a loving forever home with me. The dedication and communication from this organization exceeded my expectations.

About 4 years ago I walked into a pet store and there was an adoption event going on. I fell in love with my Penny and applied for her. Within a day my references were called and someone contacted me for a home check. The process was very smooth and professional. I adopted my Penny the following week. I was asked would I want to foster. I didn't think I could do that because I would want to keep all the dogs. I thought about fostering and decided to give it a try. Well about 127 foster dogs later I am still fostering. I have adopted 6 dogs from One Love Animal Rescue, these are dogs that I have fostered. As a volunteer and foster I find that everyone is very helpful, if there is a problem with a dog there is always someone you can reach out to. The group works together to find the best fit possible for the dogs that come into the rescue, it's not first come first serve, they really try to find the home that the dog or cat would live out the rest of their life in. I recommend One Love to everyone, people in the vet office, at the supermarket and even while out walking my dogs or a foster dog. This is a great organization and I hope we can continue to save more and more animals in the years to come.

I had such a positive experience adopting our dog Ginger! I could tell from the beginning that this is a rescue that truly cares about the needs of each individual animal they place in a home. They were careful to match the right dog with the right family. Even in the midst of a global pandemic, the adoption process was well organized and thorough. Lauren Lamb at One Love was so personable and a pleasure to work with in adopting one of her foster dogs “Ginny” (now Ginger). This rescue is careful and committed to following up with their rescue families to ensure each animal is being properly cared for and thriving in their new home.
My wife and I wanted to foster a dog first to see if they were compatible with our sons dogs. We found one love rescue and contacted them about fostering a dog. They came out to the house to see where the dog would be, asked questions about our dog history did background tests and all went well. Three weeks later they contacted us about a dog they just got in. Murphy was an American Fox Hound we saw pictures and his history and we decided to foster him. That was 6 weeks ago we have adopted him and he has been a welcome addition to our home and . One love was extremely helpful and answered all or questions and called frequently to see how Murphy was doing and how we were doing. One Love rescue REALLY cares about these animals they foster and it warms the heart to know these poor animals have an advocate as great as One Love. Absolutely amazing rescue group! So kind, patient and full of knowledge! When we decided to add a second fur baby to our family, One Love Rescue popped up with the sweetest girl. The application , home study and meet & greet process went so smooth. I also loved how Dawn was always very helpful with any questions I might have had. One love will always be a top recommendation from me when family/ friends are looking to recuse. Thank you for our sweet, attention loving (lol!) little lady.

Dawn could not have made the adoption any easier. When we saw Cozmo on their website, my husband said we have to meet him. We had just lost our 16 year old dog, so I had a soft spot for seniors which is what Cozmo was. We met him for the first time and he was so shy and kept staying by Dawn. I sat on the floor hoping he would come by me, he finally did. He gave me a lick on the cheek and I knew he was the one.
We were going on vacation in a couple of weeks so we asked Dawn if she could keep him until we got back and she said no problem.
We went and visited him a second time with my in laws and Dawn welcomed us in for the visit without hesitation.
Cozmo has now been with us for 3 1/2 years and he is the best dog!!
One Love really cares about these animals. They make sure they are healthy and the right fit. I would recommend them to adopt your next best friend!

I adopted my son Walter from One Love. He is the greatest joy of my life. I appreciate how diligent the team was at making sure the animals go to a safe, comfortable and loving home for both the animal and the family. Walter is the best dog I’ve ever owned and was healthy and clean upon adoption. The team clearly cares SO much about their pets and were incredibly thorough and informative. Dawn and her team truly have a passion for saving good and putting them into great homes. I started as a foster and ended up adopting my foster dog, Kaci. We adopted our second dog Cookie from this rescue, and the experience had been amazing! They were very thorough in making sure the needs of the dogs and the adoptive family were met — we had multiple meetings and home checks to ensure that the environment was right, and that she got along with our first dog. We knew exactly what to expect, and the rescue was responsive to our questions before and after. I highly recommend them to anyone considering adoption, because the support and the attention given to dogs and to adopters are unparalleled anywhere. This is the best rescue around!!! I was looking on so many adoption sites for another dog after our Penelope crossed the rainbow bridge. No one would get back to me or even answer any questions, some would answer after my persistence and say fill out an application..but I just have a question!!! One Love not only got back to me quickly, they were the warmest, most caring people..who loved each and every dog like it was their child!!! Their efforts always go beyond the call of duty for every animal they rescue...they are unstoppable getting to that animal that needs them!! I adopted Newt four ago..then I adopted One Love and became a volunteer.

In November of 2016 I had to put my dog down of 14 1/2 years. It was a very hard time for me. My neighbor ran into a couple who were fosters for One Love Animal Rescue. They were at the vet with a papillon chichuhua named Jack who was an owner surrender and afraid of his shadow and per the foster’s not really treated well. I filled out an application and met with the couple who were fostering Jack. I held him in my arms and I knew he had chosen me. A couple of months later I thought Jack could use a furry friend. So I called the people who had fostered Jack and they said they had the perfect match for Jack and introduced me to Max. Jack is about 16 pounds and Max is 5.6 pounds. It was and is a match made in Heaven. They are always together and you would think they were together all their life. I loved this organization so much that I became a volunteer and a foster. It’s amazing to see a dog come to life again once they are show. So much deserved love. After a few successful adoptions , I was fostering my one eyed wonder senior chi named Dexter who stole my heart and my rat pack loved him as much as me and now I have three.
I can’t say enough good things about One Love Animal Rescue. So many experienced fosters and all the dogs they take in get the medical care they need.
They did a very thorough investigation before I was able to adopt my Duffy. They also take very good care of their rescues and you have a meet and greet before adopting so that they can see if the rescue animal is compatible with the family. Very dedicated organization.
