Mission: One colorado education fund (ocef) is committed to securing and protecting equality and opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (lbgt) coloradans and their families.
Programs: Expanded ocef's statewide reach to include more than 55,000 supporters. Expanded ocef's donor base to more than 2,960 individual donors. Sustained the 3rd largest gay-straight alliance network in the country, with 220 gsas in middle schools, high schools and colleges across colorado. Hosted 4 regional leadership summits in colorado springs, ft. Collins, grand junction and denver with 250 youth leaders in attendance. Trained 1000 educators in colorado to address anti-lgbtq bullying to better meet the needs of lgbtq students in colorado schools. Published the "guidance for working with transgender and gender non- conforming students," in collaboration with the colorado association of school boards, the colorado association of school executives, the colorado education association, the colorado charter school league and the colorado high school activities and athletics association. Expanded "freedom for all coloradans," our coalition of businesses, faith leaders, conservatives and community organizations opposed to religious exemptions legislation. Hosted a teletownhall with senator michael bennet on lgbtq issues, with 2,458 attendees. Turned out 87% of one colorado supporters to vote in the 2016 election. Attended 9 prides across colorado with 79 volunteers to talk about one colorado's priorities. Hosted lgbtq lobby with 270 attendees, representing 25 of 32 senate districts and 55 of 65 house districts. Brought 64 coloradans to the capitol to testify on legislative priorities for lgbtq coloradans. Trained 210 lgbtq coloradans on their rights and protections in colorado's health insurance plan. Convened the lgbtq health coalition to collaborate with organizations improving the health of lgbtq coloradans. 237 individual media hits on transgender equality, religious exemptions, ocef's legislative priorities, lgbtq health, the orlando tragedy, and safe schools work in a range of print, online, television, and radio outlets statewide and nationally.
