Another awesome work experience and golf at the Charles Schwab Cup championship at Phoenix CC! Great clinic at the range, caddied during the Pro-Am with Stewart Cink’s group, and great camaraderie hanging with fellow veterans. John (The OCF rep) was great coordinating everything with Charles Schwab and the Phoenix CC staff. The On Course Foundation and golf has been a vital part of my daily life for my physical and mental health since becoming a member almost 2 years ago. It provides many opportunities for golf introductory and/or work experience in the golf industries. It is also a great opportunity to meet new military vets. Thank you On Course Foundation and John for another opportunity to attend! I’m very grateful!

A big thank you to the OnCourse Foundation for the incredible opportunity to be part of the Charles Schwab Championship Cup in Phoenix. Golf has been a tremendous support in managing my mental and emotional challenges, especially when I get to play alongside fellow veterans. The camaraderie was exceptional from the start, thanks to John’s thoughtful efforts to ensure we felt supported and connected. Being around others who truly understand and share similar experiences has helped me feel deeply connected in a way that only that shared background can provide. Playing with them made the experience even more meaningful—it wasn’t just about competition but about being part of something bigger, pushing myself, and celebrating that shared sense of achievement among people who know the value of resilience. Golf has provided both a welcome escape and a grounding force, keeping me balanced and emotionally strong. A. Flores

Great event in Phoenix! Received a ton of up close and on course golf experience. Didn’t think I’d be conferring with Stewart Cink over a putt, but it happened. John kept us all in line and on time! OCF has provided me with new opportunities and more importantly new friends, I would have never found on my own. Thank you OCF and can’t wait for the next one!

I have had the pleasure of working with On Course Foundation since 2010. The charity changes the lives of our Veterans, by rehabilitating them with the game of golf, and seeking to provide employment in the golf industry. Teaching the game of golf to these Veterans has been so meaningful to me. John Goudie continues to run some awesome events in the US and I've been happy to be a part of the SE Florida and Orlando clinics. Keep up the great work John!!

On Course Foundation USA has been an amazing outlet and organization for my recovery of combat injuries and transition from military service. I have attended multiple work experience events as well as team building events. They truly are invested in each Veterans life and ensure we always feel included in every event we do.

They are more than just golf, but use golf as the means to bring everyone together. I am grateful for all of their support and will continue attending events with On Course Foundation USA for years to come.

On Course Foundation (OCF) continues to be an uplifting and supportive asset to thousands of Veterans, both in the USA and the UK. I've been involved for several years now and can say they do so much to help our injured Veteran Community.

I'm proud to be part of this amazing organization and family. They brought warmth, joy and renewed energy, through the game of golf, to so many people in need, including myself.

The camaraderie and interactive support with our fellow injured sisters and brothers is totally unique and a major advantage of this organization.

I'm blessed to be part of the OCF family.

I’m proud to be apart of the On Course Foundation family. I attended my first OCFUSA event in 2017. Since then i have followed the program this foundation provides and with the support of the foundation and its members I have found a new life. I attended the golf academy of America, became a certified fitter working in the golf industry, developed as a player that led to being a Simpson Cup member for Team USA. A volunteer for the foundation as an ambassador, part time employee as event coordinator to now full time employee for the foundation as the national event manager and working for John Simpson and now the 2024, 2025 Simpson cup Team Captain.
Through the foundation and the support of its staff and members I found a new path after my injuries and Military service and the opportunity to help others on their journey.

As far as nonprofits go and foundations that help veterans, in my experience this is one of the great. In the act of on course clinics and the Ben Simpson Cup, The Oncourse Foundation honestly saved my life. I was going down a negative mental path and after being introduced to the foundation, I rediscovered my love for golf and life.

I was referred to On Course Foundation USA by another wounded Veteran. On Course then invited me to a work event at the PNC Championships a couple of years ago. I learned more about the game of golf and the profession as a whole in one week than I had in ten years of lessons and playing opportunities. We get to see what goes on behind the scenes of a professional golf event and all of the effort of course employees, volunteers, caddies, spectators and of course the prep the professionals engage in. On Course Foundation USA has exposed me to things I'd never experience elsewhere, and I've made lifelong friends across the globe.

Since my original review I've been invited back to other PGA events. Donations enable On Course Foundation to continue providing wounded Veterans the opportunity to meet new friends who have shared similar experiences. Most recently I was able to caddie at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship with Stewart Cink's group. What other organization provides to opportunity to spend 4-5 hours walking around with a pro athlete, sharing stories, gaining valuable work experience from professionals in the field?

I'm really thankful for what this group does for veterans by introducing us to golf and I'm genuinely proud to be a part of it. The staff works hard to create an inclusive environment for all vets regardless of when they served—whether you're new to golf like me or have been playing for years.

I've been to several On Course events and am always impressed by how professional, supportive, and caring everyone is. If you ever get the chance to attend one of their events, I highly recommend it!

Everything was run professionally and with great attention to ensuring that everyone who participated felt honored and welcome. The dedication and effort by The On Course Foundation to put together a world class event was clearly evident from day one. Every detail was taken care of by The On Course Foundation in partnership with Frank Dully and his staff. All I had to do was show up, and have a fantastic experience. As an honored member of the On Course Foundation, this Veteran centered, golf focused, not-for-profit organization coordinated for nine of its members (me as one) the opportunity to support the Arnold Palmer Invitational (API) golf tournament in Orlando, as a standard bearer (carrying a sign of the pro-golfer and their score).

The Professional Golfer I walked with was Joel Dahmen. This man was a true gentleman and showed me an attitude of genuine friendship.

Toward the latter part of the 18 holes, Dahmen's caddie (Geno) says to me, "I gotta split after hole 16, can you loop (caddy) Joel's bag the last two holes?" My response.. ummmm, no?!?! HECK YEAH, BROTHER!!!

THANK YOU On Course Foundation!

Being new to the game of golf, it is great to have organizations like the On Course Foundation that provides training for us to either learn or get better at the game. Also, you are encouraged to get better at the game to become competitive.
To top it off, they also help you on your personal life by providing work opportunities within the golf industry if it is what you derive.
Overall it is a great organization to include the interaction with other veterans that provide us the opportunity to create new friends that share the same interest as me.
I was part of the 2 day clinic at Bridlewood in Flowermoud TX. I had a foot time, learn some new techniques and met new friends.

Thank you for the opportunity.

I had the honor of attending a Simpson Cup qualifier held by On Course Foundation. Everything about the qualifier was top notch. The staff was amazing in making sure everyone was having a great time. I use golf as a mental and physical recovery tool, and On Course does everything they say they do and more to help service members utilize golf as a recovery tool. I look forward to the next time I can attend an On Course Foundation event.

Being able to golf alongside so many fellow veterans with similar experiences is hard to find outside of oncourse foundation. Will definitely continue to be a part of this great group.

I attended my first On Course Foundation event this past year and it was an amazing event. It was organized very well and was an extremely welcoming organization and group of people. What this organization does by bringing veterans together and providing opportunities through golf is extremely important and I am very proud to be a part of it.

OnCourse came into my life at the perfect time! I have been golfing for a few years at this point but I was not connected to any other veterans. I also was in a tough place with my pain management. OnCourse introduced me to other veterans that I can now say, will be life long friends. They will forever hold a special spot in my heart and I thank anyone who has ever been a part of this program. They have truly made it the best I have come across. Thank you!

It’s hard to find an organization with the quality of individuals, spirit, organization, or professionalism that the On Course Foundation has. And yet here they are exemplifying every single one of those qualities on every single occasion. There are no better ambassadors for the game of golf, disabled veteran community, or the armed forces in its entirety than The On Course Foundation.

On Course embraced me and the challenges that I thought were uniquely mine after leaving the military. They helped me identify with the sport of golf and explore career options. While employment in the game isn’t in my cards, volunteering in the game to assist veterans has been. Thank you On Course Foundation for all you have done for me and fellow servicemen and women.

Last week this time while vacationing in Orlando, I signed in to play a round of golf, the starter asked if I would mind pairing up with the two guys in line in front of me. I don't usually mind, it's a great way to meet new people, little did I know I would be getting paired up with two real life heros. From the introductions I could tell there was something special about Mike and John, they were super polite and extremely welcoming, I knew I was in for a great afternoon. We started talking and Mike told me about the On Course Foundation and what they do and that he and John were both "wounded warriors" but that obviously wasn't letting that hold either of them back. Having grown up in a military household and doing a lot of work with both active duty and veteran organizations we hit it off right away. We shared many laughs that afternoon (not just about our golf games). You would be hard pressed to find two better ambassadors for your organization. I look forward to working with them in the future and wish you nothing but the best. Merry Christmas!

My name is R. A. Headges. I greatly thank you On Course Foundation and specially Mike Lacy, for giving me and the rest of the Wounded Veterans, this amazing opportunity to experience and to participate in the 3 Day Golf Skills Improvement and Employment Event. We had an enjoyable time and we definitetely learned a lot about the golf industry.

To start. the management/opperations approach is centered upon creating extraordinary guess and member experiences by delivering superior service, preferred brands of clothing, golf carts, amenities and playing surfaces. The grounds operations is commited to achieving agronomic excellence, by using top of the line equipment, products, and improving upon proven techniques, which enables them to have one of the best playing surfaces in the Atlanta area. They maintain excellent turf health.

The food and beverage was a dinning experience. Great food selection. They ensure that the high level of quality food and service remains consistent. The formula for their success includes superior training, diverse menu selections, and affordable food and beverages.
We also learned about daily fee & marketing, events/golf tournaments scheduling and management operations.

Ms. Heidy and Anthony provided topnotch golf instructions to the participating veterans, making it a memorable experience. Veterans with various skills level and backgroung were able to participate in the instructions and even got to play golf.

These 3 days motivated us to discover more about the many opportunities your foundation has to offer. This experience was very helpful for me because. I was able to get out of the house and be myself around my fellow veterans. Participation in this program, with your support, has given me a boost of confidence in my everyday life.

My name is Jerry Graham and I was invited to participate with OCF by a fellow wounded veteran and it gave me an opportunity to be sociable with other wounded veterans from around the surrounding areas and be involved with learning more about golf. This organization is superb and the coordinator ( Mike Lacy) was caring and considerate. The experience has really been a learning opportunity and the knowledge obtained has helped me adjust as well as consider future opportunities to participate in the entire golf arena. The detailed overview of what it takes to support day to day course operations helped me appreciate the participants from in house to grounds keepers all the more. The lessons were informative for novice to experienced golfers and the willingness to assist those with special needs were second to none! Thank you Oncourse Foundation for the experience of a lifetime. I am going to share the experience with other veterans so that they too can have the excellent experience that OCF afforded me.

OCF is an amazing charity that assists wounded veterans to get their life "back on course". The events are run by OCF's US coordinator who is an injured retired Service Member, an American Hero, yet humble and kind in every way. The team of PGA professionals that assist from the Marriott Grande Vista in Orlando are second to none in their care and instruction of the injured former Service Members. OCF not only teaches these heroes the game of golf with intricate instruction, they assist these fine warriors in life skills, guiding them thru a difficult transition from service to civilian life. The events are top notch and I have witnessed first hand the participants' enrichment in all aspects of life thru the game of golf.

I would like to start my story of participation by extending my heart felt appreciation for everyone involved in the Qualifier at Kernwood Country Club! Special thanks to the staff and members of golf course! The pros were top notch and created a truly “professional feel” to the qualifier! Additionally the On-Course representatives were equally stellar! THANK YOU ALL!
Now, I am more than honored to have been invited to experience this fellowship of comrades. I struggle mightily with the mental anguish the toll of military conflict has had on all my being.
Physically golf has brought meaningful physical activity to my life. I have a personal motivation to go be active. I no longer feel as I have no means to remain active. Mental Stress Relief!
Mentally, returning to golf has changed my life. I have everything I need to stay, positively, mentally healthy! I am not sure the entire outcome of my future, but it will include the golf industry! It has given me a possible return to a socially productive life! I am not sure how long or if ever, but I now have a means to attempt a “Full Recovery!” I cannot tell you the positive life attitude it has created for me.
As for On-Course and my experience at Kernwood, It was life altering to say the least. I was able to go, WAAAAY, out of my comfort zone, and felt as safe as I have ever felt away from home! I suffer terrible anxiety and stress management. I never felt judged, not welcome, and totally accepted. (Even if embracing incidents happen)

The fellow veterans at this event were inspiring and truly motivating! I love the tight comradery of the guys fully committed to this program!! These guys are unbelievably positive and full of life! Hard not to feel free to laugh and have some refreshing locker room banter!
To end, I have been blessed to participate in this event. If you are reading this, it’s either you are a veteran or a potential donor!

Veterans: Not a better group to be involved with. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
Donors: Your money will be very well utilized to change the lives of many lost souls!

Great day to be alive, it is always a pleasure to listen and learn about golf opportunities. Tom Morrison (superintendent at Marriott Grande Vista) gave us some good insight about grounds keeping and how to enter the profession. Instruction was awesome, any day that I can come out and practice under the watchful eye of PGA professional Don Moyer I feel good. On Course Foundation I'm thankful for the invitation.

I enjoyed the information sharing of the program as much as I did the golf instruction and play. These events are extremely easy on the participant; which is key to those who struggle with being around people and getting out of the house. Mike Lacy has been extremely available and helpful during the process. I have increased my time outside the house working on my game in between events and I owe that all to the foundation. I have always enjoyed the game of golf. When I was injured in the military I thought those days of moving forward were over. It wasn't until joining up with On the Course Foundation USA, and all the help personally from John Dodds, was I able to find that true passion again. With their help, I now have a job at an amazing golf country club, where I'm able to immerse myself into the golf wold (in numerous areas). I'm able to learn more than I ever knew was possible, from some great people, and hopefully take my game to the next level. I couldn't be more appreciative for their help and guidance through the process of getting to this point. I now feel like my options in moving forward within the golf industry are limitless! First and foremost I would like to thank On Course Foundation and all of its staff for the help and support it has given me over the last year.

Each event I have attended over the last year has been outstanding and to top it off with warm weather training in Orlando has been the icing on the cake.

The facilities, training, hospitality and welcome we all received in Orlando has been first class.

Not only have I had top quality coaching from top quality professionals, I have also enjoyed being amounst like minded buddies from both sides of the Atlantic whom I could connect with.

Civvy street can be a tough club to be a part of after 20 years in the military and having the chance to spend a week with guys from the same background and who have had similar experiences is priceless.

In a nutshell, my golf has improved massively and I have met new friends for life! In my whole 6 years of being injured and discharged from the Army, no other charity has come close to achieving what On Course Foundation has given me!

BRENDAN MURRAY OCF MEMBER GBR

Firstly I have to thank every single person involved in putting together this great trip. The day I received the email I couldn't believe my luck, I had never been to the States and was looking forward in meeting more OCF members and playing some world class PGA Tour quality courses.
The trip was so awesome, I gained so much from it. I have an ongoing lower back Injury, which initially limited me considerably. Through The OnCourse Foundation I now focus more on the things I can do rather then what I cant.
I am fully making a recovery through golf, the charity really does what it says on the tin.
Golf has given me a sport I can almost fully compete in, develop and enjoy thoroughly.
The tuition we received from the Marriot Grande Vista staff was unbelievable.
Once in a life time coaching. Larry, Jim, Andy and Don all gave me so much time and catered to my limitations.
For anyone who isn't into golf, would think I'm talking rubbish, but I've found a new sense of confidence both in sport and socially.
Since being injured I have spend a lot time on my own at home, initially feeling quite down.
I now look forward to the OCF events, each time I make close friends which is so cool.
The Orlando trip took it to another level and we got to hang out with the Wounded Veterans from the U.S Forces aswell as our own Injured lads.
The banter was flowing and its realy uplifting to see people with horrific mental and physical injuries properly laugh and open up making new friendships.
I will keep this experience with me for the rest of my life.
Everyone involved worked tirelessly and questions or issues were addressed immediately. I really can not song their praises enough. Will Barker John Dodds and John Simpson, to name a few made this experience worthwhile meaningful and helped each of us individually so much.
Personally, I think my golf improved, a lot. My social skills improved and I managed to make new great friendships. The coaching didn't end in Orlando, I was filmed and set up on a Marriot coaching website, so when I got home I can go over the golf tution at my leisure.
The Charity is great and anyone who donates and supports it is making a real difference. Not all service men and woman have visable injuries and I was so surprised golf of all things would bring people together, helping them be involved whatever the Injury. Socially being able to open up while travelling round a golf course for 4-5hours.
The thing I've learnt is that golf is such a positive sport. I know I've got a long way to go before I can class myself as a medium skilled player, but all the guys never put you down, only encourage and guide you. And of course not forgetting that we are ex and serving military personnel, so the banter that so many of us miss upon leaving the service is fully flowing, and we can all take a joke.
Loved every minute of this trip and I'm so grateful for the opportunity. Learnt more about the golf industry, correct playing syles, professional coaching, Luxurious accommodation & superb dining.
Most of all was the friendships I made and how comfortable it is to speak to each other about our injuries.
Truly grateful, thank you to everyone

I don’t even know where to begin in terms of what I got out of the trip. Being in full time employment the R&R it provided was invaluable, just being around like minded individuals for a week was great and something I have always missed since being discharged from the military.

In terms of golf, the trip has done no end of good to my game, I have made some instant improvements and taken away loads for me to work on. The fitting with Randy was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am really looking forward to having my clubs set up based on his recommendations. The coaching was first class as usual and a great confidence boost with Simpson Cup qualifying just around the corner.

Getting to play the courses we played was something I never thought I would be able to do and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

It was great to hear some of the golf industry success stories and have an insight into some areas of the industry we would never get the opportunity to see. I feel if we could find somebody as enthusiastic as Randy is about club fitting in the UK and could try to expose more members to this environment we would have a queue of Apprentice club fitters looking for employment.

The only constructive feedback I could give relates to the intensity of the golf, as someone with a physical injury it was at times too intense, I feel it would have been more beneficial to have a little bit of rest time and although I know the activities were not essential it sometimes feels a little bit ungrateful or ignorant if you choose to sit something out. That said, on the flip side, what an itinerary, I am pleased I cracked on and managed to do most activities over the course of the week.

I have come back to the UK feeling refreshed, positive and confident and the benefits of the trip will be long lasting.

Thanks for all of your efforts and thanks to everyone at On Course involved in the organisation of an amazing trip and giving me the opportunity to attend.

I now have a new Family to assist in my transition to civilian life after medical retirement from the Army. My attendance at OCF clinics has given me new tools to seek employment in the golf industry, a new attitude on my transition and most of all a new sense of camaraderie and esprit de corps that was missing when I left the service. There is an unspoken code we attendees of these clinics share that allows us to be ourselves without judgment. The staff and golf professionals at all the venues I have visited are extremely and sincerely appreciative of our and our families' service and sacrifice for this great nation. Special thanks to Mike L. of OCF, Don M. of the Marriott Grande Vista, Orlando and Ted R. of Deercroft, Pinehurst. They are all awesome guys and great Americans!
Thanks to all.
