Mission: Education on traditional and customary practices
Programs: Kanu project - 416 community members continued to plant, maintain and harvest taro from 13 taro patches while participating in cultural and educational activities, an additional 3 acres were planted with 60+ bananas, coconuts, noni, etc. For sustainable agricultural purposes while engaging in traditional farming.
reforestation project - 307 volunteers assisted with clearing invasive plant species and planting nearly 300 native hawwaian plants that were traditionally used for food sources, weaponry and tools by the native hawaiian people.
poi shop - 184 program participants engaged in preparing 287 lbs. Of poi for their families after harvesting taro in the kanu project. Expenses included program materials, repair and maintenance of equipment and utilities to maintain poi shop operations.
