The major program achievement of the whole grains council is an increase in the consumption of whole grains -- something that nutrition scientists and the us government have advocated for many years. The supermarket dietitian education program brings together and develops resources for health professionals at supermarkets, in order to help consumers choose healthier foods. The african heritage and health program develops initiatives to promote the healthy foods and delicious eating traditions of african heritage for good health and community. The african heritage & health program supports people working at all levels towards better health-doctors, educators, community health organizations, students, families, and friends-- through a number of activities, including the african heritage diet pyramid; african heritage cooking classes; continuing professional education coureses for dietitians; recipes; newsletter and other educational resources in fy2012, the organization concentrated on the whole grains council, mediterranean foods alliance, and the african heritage and health program through educational conferences and publications for consumer and health professionals.
