My name is Jeff and I have been a volunteer for the Oklahoma Jail and Prison Ministry for approx. four (4) years at the Oklahoma City County Jail. I volunteer weekly and it is the absolute highlight of my week! I look forward to going with anticipation and excitement and without exception I come away each week with great joy in my heart after serving! Weekly I have the opportunity to either share the love and saving message of the gospel of Christ with an unbelieving inmate, or lovingly help improve a struggling inmate who is a believer with his walk with the Lord. Without humble volunteers there is no local jail or prison ministry! This ministry is so vital and the staff and other volunteers are such a pleasure to serve with. As Jesus said, "and the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’" There is no thrill like sharing the gospel, and there is no greater pleasure than sharing with "one of the least of these..." I love this ministry and I love serving those who arguably need to hear the good news the most. I would encourage anyone who has ever considered serving to jump aboard, you won't be sorry!

My name is Dickk and I have served in the Oklahoma Jail and Prison Ministry for the last 20 years. Seeing the mass number of faces I share the gospel of Jesus Christ with, I don't always remember what they look like. One one occasion, at a local 7-11 Convenience Store separated from the OJPM correction center by about 20 miles, I heard a voice from across the counter on the other side of the store yell out "Hey man! How you doin' ? Not recognizing his face and looking puzzled I responded "Fine, do I know you? " to which he with a loud voice said " I met you while I was in the slammer in the Chaplain's office and you explained how I could be saved by believing in the death, shed blood, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. God SAVED ME!
Just one of the MANY BLESSINGS I have received while serving in the OJPM.
PRAISE BE TO GOD!
