I am thrilled to share my experience with Ohlone Humane Society, a truly remarkable non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming cats in need. From the moment I reached out to them, I was impressed by their commitment to animal welfare and their passion for finding loving homes for every cat in their care. The team goes above and beyond to ensure that each cat receives the love and attention they deserve. It’s evident that the staff genuinely cares about the well-being of the animals, as they take the time to understand each cat’s unique personality and needs. The team also took the time to answer all my questions and provided valuable insights into the cats’ behaviors and histories. They ensured that I was matched with a cat that would be a good fit for my home and lifestyle, which made me feel confident in my decision. Even after the adoption, this organization continues to provide support. This level of care reassures me that I am part of a community that truly cares about the well-being of its animals. I wholeheartedly recommend Ohlone Humane Society to anyone considering adopting a cat. Their unwavering dedication to animal rescue, community education, and the well-being of their cats is inspiring. Supporting this organization not only helps save lives but also enriches the lives of those who adopt. Thank you, Ohlone Humane Society for the incredible work you do!
My girlfriend and I adopted two kittens(6 months) named Laverne and Shirley from this great non-proft about a month ago.
We had just lost our older cat who we loved so much about a month before and were starting to look around, they let us come meet her at her foster parents and helped us get to know them before we took the plunge.
They're a great and super helpful non-profit and they also just us advice on how to aid all the feral cats in our neighborhood.
The Ohlone Humane Society has been instrumental in providing resources to spay and neuter approximately a dozen cats at our local neighborhood park. Their support and guidance have prevented a significant surge in the cat population. We are grateful for the dedication of the wonderful volunteers (especially Wendy) who generously donate their time to care for these feral cats.”
Ohlone Wildlife Rehabilitation Center takes in injured, orphaned and distressed wildlife with the goal of releasing them back to their appropriate habitat. The volunteers prepare meals, clean habitats (not always a pleasant task) and check on the animals. It doesn’t always go according to plan, unfortunately due to extenuating circumstances, not all animals survive. We do the best we can, always with our patients best interest at heart.
Whoa, where to start!? Ohlone Humane Society volunteers work tirelessly, especially the TNR and kitten foster programs to do all they can to support the local cats and kittens who don’t have a voice nor a choice.
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is also amazing. They rehab our local wildlife and return them to their natural habitat here in the Bay Area. They also educate the community on the importance of our urban wildlife, SO critical.
Thank you OHS for all you do.
My experience with the Ohlone Humane Society has been wonderful! My family and I began fostering kittens with this organization about a year ago. During that time, we felt well informed in every step of the certification process. We received thorough training on caring for kittens. While fostering, the team went above and beyond to ensure that we had the resources and support needed. Beyond being well organized and detailed in their processes, their compassion for these animals and dedication to their wellbeing is remarkable. The time and care they give to see that these kittens are cared for every step of the way and are well matched with their forever home is really special. It feels great to be a part of such a compassionate organization dedicated to making a difference in these animals’ lives.
We continue to foster kittens, but have now adopted two of our own from the OHS. This process was so exciting and we received the care, detailed information, and support that we have come to know from the OHS.
Fosters were supportive and responsive.
They even provided sessions for my children to learn and be prepared for kittens to go home. It was a smooth transition from initial request to bringing the kittens home.
Highly recommend OHS!
Ohlone Humane taught me about TNR, gave me a training crate to feed our two feral cats in, helped with two separate trappings of our little abandoned guys (thanks, Hilary!); then a second person drove many miles on different days to have each cat neutered (thank you, driver!) and then after caring for them overnight, returned them, with updates all along the way. When we wanted to release them into our home instead of outside, Ohlone Humane put us in contact with a third person who answered all of our questions about domesticating the cats who found us and introducing them to our longtime cat. Three folks from Ohlone Humane helped us intensely over three weeks. They were so supportive, caring and knowledgeable every step of the way. These are such good people who do much good in the world.
Thanks to the Ohlone Humane Society I was able to get some much-needed help with spay and neutering. A pregnant cat showed up out of nowhere and had a litter of 4, My husband and I decided to keep them as it is hard to adopt them out sometimes. They are all so cute! THANK YOU Ohlone Humane Society!!! Seriously!
Oh my goodness! I can't begin to express how grateful I am for Ohlone Humane Society. I had the pleasure of adopting my kitten Charlie in October, and the past several months have been the best of my life. From start to finish, the team (particularly Cindy) was incredibly supportive, responsive, and knowledgeable. They truly care about the animals and take the time to ensure each one finds the perfect home. I cannot thank them enough!
We were looking for 2 young cats and were rejected repeatedly because we have small kids, despite having a long history of dog and cat ownership. Ohlone got to know us and found the two perfect brothers for our family. They are amazing with my kids, even curling up with the loud and wiggly 3 year old. Raised by a fantastic foster family, they are good with dogs, kids, and cats. We are so glad to have found Ohlone!
After losing our beloved 16.5 yr old girl my partner and I started looking to adopt. We came across a 1 yr old female who is not only beautiful but incredibly sweet. The entire adoption process was smooth and everyone I've worked with is not only kind and compassionate but super helpful. I am so thankful that she was saved and fostered, she's the perfect addition! I would definitely recommend working with OHS if you're looking to adopt.
We had a wonderful experience with Ohlone Humane Society. They were extremely responsive, and the adoption process was very smooth and efficient. The program and foster family had taken excellent care (including vaccines, microchip, neuter, socialization) of the kittens. We had an overall excellent experience and adore our two new kittens!
After filling out a form thru the website, I had a response within an hour, with pictures of available kittens. I was able to communicate w the foster family, arrange a time to visit, and then pick up the kitten the following days after he had been neutered. He was very well socialized, and is a loving addition to our family! I highly recommend this organization.
Ohlone is such a wonderful foundation. With a mission to help animals, Cindy helped us find a home for a kitten we found on our property. She will now have a safe environment with love to grow in.
Applied online and Cindy reached out within minutes. She was friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell she really cares about the cats. She put me in touch with a foster who had two adorable kitten brothers. The foster was equally as sweet, responsive and flexible. They both knew these kittens would pair well with our family…and they were so right! Thank you for making it a wonderful experience. Well take good care of the boys!
The OHS wildlife center has been nothing but incredible every time I have, unfortunately, needed them over the past several years. This most recent time, I found a deceased mother skunk in the road with 4 live babies desperately attempting to nurse on her, and sadly a 5th baby also deceased from being hit by a car. With no response from animal control, I had to stop traffic and get the babies into a box and knew they needed help. OHS was able to take them in and I know they are in the best hands possible. These people truly care about animal welfare and have absolute hearts of gold. I am so eternally grateful to have this wildlife rehab so close to home with a team of volunteers I know are there for all the right reasons. OHS as a whole has always been incredible. I’ve used their TNR spay/neuter vouchers many times and have had a lot of help from then regarding my work with ferals as well.

I’ve used OHS countless times over the years whether it be for TNR vouchers or taking injured wildlife to the wildlife center. Everyone I have encountered has always been nothing but helpful, and the overall compassion shown by each volunteer I have met has restored my faith in humanity a bit. I am very grateful to have OHS in my community and appreciate that I can turn to them with questions or for help.

Thank you so much! We strive to provide the best care possible for the animals and glad to see we were able to provide great customer service as well.
We have partnered with Ohlone Humane Society for several years on their Pet Pantry initiative. It has enabled our clients to receive the food they otherwise could not afford and also allowed many families and individuals to consider adopting a shelter pet now that they have a source of help with food for their new pet. It's a "win-win' all around!
Cindy and her team at Ohlone Humane Society are amazing. A stray and kitten in my yard and I was at a loss with what to do. Cindy and Sandra came down without any hesitation and helped me safely trap mama and kittens. Now they’re in the wonderful care of Cindy. You can really tell the love and care they have for animals and I hope they’re able to continue to do their amazing work
I learned about the Ohlone Humane Society during 2020 at the start of the COVID pandemic. At one of my volunteer sites, I met a representative from Ohlone Humane Society who was dropping off pet foods and partnered with the organization afterwards. This organization provides several services to families with pets. I’ve been fortunate to meet such a great team of volunteers. They have been generously providing pet food and supplies for my organization’s food distributions for several years now. On a personal level, they helped me with my community cats and use their TNR program.
I recently found 4 kittens and a mama cat in my backyard and reached out to Ohlone HS for advice on what to do. I was willing to help foster them, but did not have any knowledge of how to go about trapping and getting them socialized.
I left a message through the website and they reached out to me that same day to put me in contact with someone in their foster program. They helped me set up a trap and transfer the kittens once trapped, came over to help assess them and bathe them, and have been in constant contact with me to monitor progress with socialization. They also helped trap the mama cat and set up a TNR appointment!
The foster kitten team is fantastic, you can really tell they care about every animal they come across and want the best outcome for them. Very thankful for all of their help and advice.
My name is Keisha Miller. I am the program manager at BACS - South County Wellness Center. Our partnership with Ohlone Humane Society has become a vital part of our programming. OHS supports our homeless pets by providing us with essential items necessary for our pets to survive and remain healthy while unhoused. Their volunteers are knowledgeable about the pet community and its resources. They have supported us by providing resource information for all kinds of animal care. OHS is an important part of homeless services in the tri-city area because even the homeless have pets that they love and treat like family. From Myself and all my staff we greatly appreciate all that you do. THANK YOU!
The people at Ohlone Humane Society really impressed me, they truly care about the animals they rescue and make sure they find the right person to adopt their pets. The foster, Hilary, gave my cat all the love he needed and was generous enough to give me a blanket, toys and food to make sure the transition went well. Cindy has been very helpful with the introduction of my 2 cats since I've never experienced this before. I really appreciate the extra effort from both Hilary and Cindy, far more than I expected. Thank you so much!!
I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to Ohlone Humane society specifically Cindy Potter. From the moment I found your fostering service, I knew I was in good hands. The dedication to these animals is truly remarkable, and it's clear that you put your heart and soul into every kitten you care for.
The process of adopting a kitty was new to me but Cindy made it incredibly smooth. Cindy made sure that everything was in order and that my new furry baby was healthy and happy before sending him home with us. Cindy's knowledge and expertise were evident throughout the entire process and I felt confident I was making the right choice.
I cannot thank you enough for bringing this precious new fur baby into our lives. He has completed my family in ways I never thought possible, and I am so grateful to have found him through you. Your dedication to fostering these animals is truly inspiring and I know many other families will benefit from your kindness and compassion.
We recently adopted a cat from the Ohlone Humane Society and our experience of working with them through the adoption process has been amazing. The staff's dedication to animal welfare was evident, and even beyond adoption—they continue to provide ongoing support and valuable resources for any queries we have about the kitten. Kathie provided us with toys, food, and blankets to ensure our kitten felt comfortable and had his known toys while moving to his new home. We're thankful for the joy they've brought into our home.
I have continued to volunteer for the TNR team at OHS for 2 years now. It is an amazing group of volunteers. Most have full time jobs, but take time to TNR in the evenings and weekends. Others use their lunch breaks to pick up cats, or leave to drop off cats at the clinics 1 hour early so they can get to work on time. Our team coordinates appointments, drop offs, pickups, recovery, prehousing the cats, releasing them. We call those that put in the requests, access their needs, and try to get to them asap. I have personally logged a hundred mile a week to drive cats to appointments, meet people, return the cats, etc. It is so rewarding. OHS is there supporting the volunteers with supplies with appointments. It is a true gem in the Bay Area where we lack support. Our local shelter in Fremont does not have a s/n program for ferals for years, instead they rely on us to assist the community. We have volunteers going into a supermarket ditch to rescue a kitten, going down a chimmeny, getting cats that a glass bottle around their neck, cats that have fallen through ditches and been rescued after 10 days. Those are just the out of your ordinary stories. Others rescues include getting cats fixed at our local high schools, libraries, Lake Elizabeth, homeless around the Lake and other areas, people's businesses, backyards, etc. You name it, our TNR team has done it. Please support us.

Wonderful caring team of people. I have worked as a foster for kittens with Cindy and Feather for over a year. They provided me with all the training and equipment. They checked on me if I needed assistance. I text them and they help resolve the issues right the way. They truly care about the fosters, the kittens, the mama cats, and where and with whom they get placed. It is a 24/7 'job'. I admire their dedication and love for the animals. Here is a picture of the mama cat and her 7 kittens that I had last year.
I would like to express my profound gratitude to OHS for the endless support and guidance they have extended me over the years. I first contacted OHS in 2021 when I discovered a litter of kittens outside my home. Despite reaching out to 10+ local rescues organizations, it was only after contacting Cindy did I receive a response to my desperate cries for help. Cindy and Feather immediately expressed compassion and empathy for my situation, and provided me with all the necessary supplies to begin the rescue effort. They connected me to an incredible contact (thank you Rose!) who guided me every step of the way from TNR, through fostering, and all the way to adoption.
Even years later, when I recently contacted Cindy out of the blue for advice, she once again showed me the same care and compassion as when I first contacted her. Thank you to OHS for being a lifelong community resource and helping me save the animals I have crossed paths with. You have left an everlasting impact on me and my family's lives!
Ohlone Humane Society is a great place to volunteer to help animals. There are so many volunteer opportunities, something for everyone.
Pregnant calico cat having kittens 2 - 3 times a year in my neighborhood. People feeding cats need to have them sterilized to prevent more kittens. Ohlone Humane Society Inc. Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) program helped trap and this cat was fixed. She is still around the neighborhood, but no more kittens. She is well cared for by the community. I have worked with TNR, Kitten Team, Pets Meals on Wheels, the Ohlone Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and the wonderful volunteers that work tirelessly to make these programs work.
I'm so impressed with this organization. The program managers are top notch and deliver outstanding results for the community. They find creative solutions to challenges in order to make the lives of animals and those who love them better. I donate both my time and money and can say without question that both are very well spent!!
Ohlone Humane Society volunteers work tirelessly in their efforts to protect and care for our feathered, furry and scaly cohabitants on this earth. I've never met a more passionate group of people who will go to the ends of the earth for their cause.
My family and I were looking for a cat. We knew adoption centers were where we wanted to start because a lot of animals like cats are always in need of a home. We found this adoption center and we’re successful with getting not just 1 but 2 cats that are loving and playful! It was a very fast process and easy one. We were able to meet the cats before adopting and asked a lot of questions! Meet pompom and Luke both sister and brother. We knew we couldn’t separate the two so we decided to adopt both and give them a loving home where they will be played with, fed, loved, and cuddled with!
I recently adopted two kittens through the Ohlone Humane Society, and the entire process was extremely pleasant, smooth, and professional. I was helped by Cindy, who very kindly welcomed us into her home to meet our kitties and organized the adoption process for us through a foster. I could really feel how much passion Cindy has for animals, and that she works diligently to provide care for every cat/kitten she possibly can so that they can have a chance at a good life. Her vetting process and questions were very thorough as well, so it feels good knowing pets being adopted through here are being adopted to good homes.
The foster who was caring for the kittens was wonderful as well. She was very accommodating when I had to unexpectedly push back our pick up date for the kittens. When we adopted the kittens, they were in good health and well socialized.
Overall, my experience with Ohlone Humane Society was very positive, and I am so grateful for my babies that I already love so much
We have a very feral mama cat in our immediate area who gave birth to more litters than I can count. After her last few litters were either in my yard or my back neighbors, I started catching the kittens after they were old enough but not yet feral and found good homes for them. I received a voucher from a friend but had to get the voucher changed to my name and the clinic I had a spay appointment with. I called Cindy Potter at the last minute and she helped me through the entire process. I couldn't trap her for the first appointment but my neighbor was able to trap her the day before the second appointment. Although I still have her six adorable kittens I am fostering, it is the biggest relief to know I helped break this mama's feral cat cycle. Now mama can live out her life in peace and so can my neighbor and I. Cindy has been a godsend and has been there for me with any questions I have in regard to these 6 beautiful and not feral kittens!!! Thank you OHS and Cindy Potter!
OHS are such wonderful, kind, compassionate, caring people. My wife and I donate our time, money, and items on their Wish Lists to help with what's needed the most.
Fostering kittens at Ohlone Humane Society was an amazing first-time experience. Cindy, the manager, was a great guide throughout. They provided all the necessary supplies, had a caring team for food and also for health check-ups. I highly recommend volunteering with them if you're in Fremont. It’s also worth noting that Ohlone Humane Society is a non-profit organization, so you know your support goes toward a good cause.
Thank you to everyone at Ohlone Humane Society and especially the Wildlife Center.
A few weeks ago neighbors noticed a squirrel following people around and called me to take a look. The squirrel seemed unafraid of people and would take walnuts and sunflowers but seemed unable to chew them. The little guy had a bloody nose and some other injuries. I thought maybe he had hurt his mouth. I managed to get him into a carrier and wrote OHS Wildlife Center.
Though the Center was closed for remodeling my email was answered and, amazingly, Kelli called me at about 8pm suggesting I bring the squirrel to her house. She suspected he was young. Since he’d been following people for almost two days she suspected he hadn’t eaten in that time and needed immediate care. I dropped him off and, sure enough, Kelli thought he was only about 5 weeks old and couldn’t eat the walnuts because he still only had milk teeth! Mom was gone so he had no food. She took him to bottle feed.
OHS has helped me with many animals over many, many years - injured raccoon, tiny baby opossum, injured squirrel, injured skunk to name a few. They help with advice or action or both. I’ve dealt with many different OHS people and all are responsive and caring. I feel very lucky to have such a group close by.
I had an amazing experience working with Cindy and Kristen to adopt my 2.5 month old kitten. They communicated with me before during and after the adoption process, answered all of my questions, and provided many pictures upon request. I would certainly adopt from them again!
Cindy was amazing! She sent videos and photos of our kitty everyday. She kept our kitty a bit longer so I could take the time off to spend all day with our kitty. When we went to pick up our kitty she gave us the blanket she was used to and some food and treats. It was my first pet adoption and now I send Ohlone Humane Society page to everyone interested in adopting.
Great experience in fining our kitten (Lexi). She was well socialized and was not afraid of us or our bigger (Siberian) cat. Communications was very good throughout the process. The application for was simple. We got to meet and plat with Lexi in her foster home first before making the final decision.
100% recommend Ohlone !
OHS is such a blessing! We live in an area where lots of cats wander through it, and I do my best to catch them and have them fixed and then take care of them :-) I can only do this because of the great help of OHS! I donate on a regular basis because I know it makes a difference not only for the wildlife, but also to help with the cat population in the city! Everyone I’ve worked with has been awesome! These 2 little boys are fixed and an integral part of our world!
OHS is a useful organization for our community. Hundreds of cats and kittens have been saved and rescued by the TNR (trap, neuter, return) team and the Foster Kitten Programs . The Wildlife center rehabs and releases injured wild animals. I am a volunteer with the foster kitten program and have participated in and witnessed hundreds of rescued kittens receive the medical attention needed to keep them alive and to prosper in order to find them forever homes. I love working with the kittens through the organization and I have met many wonderful like minded individuals who I consider friends.
Thanks
Feather Marianchild
I have nothing but good things to say about Ohlone humane society. They helped me find my kitten Golu who has been an absolute joy to have. When I first got her she was having health issues which Cindy from ohlone humane society helped me get through. Thankfully she is all well now and I can’t thank Cindy enough for all the help. If you guys are looking to adopt any animal check out Ohlone! You will not regret it.
I never do reviews but wanted to make an exception for Ohlone Humane Society. Our beloved family boxer Brody passed away suddenly in September after short battle with cancer. Along with us, our little Frenchie Max was broken hearted and lonely. I was not ready (and still am not) ready to get another dog so in December my daughter suggested getting a kitten for Max to hang out with so I found OHS. It was hard as they had many cute kittens/cats that needed homes. We saw the pic of “Scooter” and immediately fell in love. He was exactly what we needed to smile again. He is so full of mischief that you can’t help but laugh. Cindy Potter was so helpful in the process.
Thank you OHS and Cindy!
We live our little Scoots :)
We adopted our second kitten from Ohlone Humane Society and were blown away by their dedication and care during the adoption process.
Our rep, Cindy, followed up with us quite frequently to make sure things were going smoothly once we picked up our kitten. She was super responsive and helpful with any questions I had.
We previously adopted a kitten from another organization, but never experienced such genuine care from the reps. It truly made such a huge difference in our adoption process. We will definitely be adopting from Ohlone in the future, if we plan to adopt again.
We adopted two kitten brothers and had such a pleasant experience during the process. Everything went easy and smooth and the foster parents were so kind and caring with these two boys. We love them and cannot imagine life without them now! Thank you!
OHS did a wonderful job for my kitten. He was born with a congenital defect and also suffered from significant upper respiratory infections. They organized and financed the veterinary care he needed. They ensured he had an amazing foster family. And, they have been great to work with through the adoption process. Thanks to OHS, Teddy is thriving.
We are very grateful for the Ohlone Humane Society. Their kitten foster & adoption program does a lot of outstanding work. Their volunteers save the lives of so many cats and ensure they go to loving and caring homes. We are so grateful for this program. They matched us up with our kitten “Rocky” who we now call “Paco”. While in foster care, Paco was treated for possible mega-colon. He was given love, medication, handled & played with daily. He brings so much love and laughter into our lives and we are eternally grateful.
We were looking for two sibling kittens. Our cat of 10 years loved the great outdoors, but was struck by a car and killed. We decided we never wanted to go through this again and have our cats go through this pain either. So we contacted the Ohlone Humane Society and waited for our siblings to arrive. As it happened, they were born within days of our sweet kitty’s passing. We made all the preparation‘s and picked up our sweet babies. We had the best experience going through the Humane Society. There was never a question that went on answered, and everyone was so loving and compassionate. It was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Many thanks to this amazing nonprofit organization!
After wanting a cat for years, I knew the two kittens I adopted from Ohlone Humane Society were perfect for me after seeing their ad for the first time!! The Ohlone Humane Society was polite, fast with responding, and incredibly informative. I couldn’t have had a better experience adopting. The people working there have a genuine passion for animals and you can very clearly tell how much they care. I am forever grateful for finding my 2 baby kittens!!!
This organization was so easy to work with and very helpful and understanding. I was blessed to be able to find them when i found some baby kittens in my backyard. Without them these babies may not have made it.
I worked with Ohlone Humane Society for both TNR a community of cats and volunteering to foster some kittens starting just a month or two ago.
First, I contacted OHS because I noticed an influx of unneutered cats around my neighborhood and a lot more fights at night. (I feed a couple spayed/neutered cats but the male recently passed away) After talking to the neighbors we identified about 15 cats that needed to be neutered. I worked many passionate members to trap and neuter these cats. Their service is so essential. I tried to get appointments to neuter these cats but were getting responses like 6-9 months from all the clinics around east bay. With OHS's relationship with the vet clinics, they were able to fit a pair of appointments here and there, and we were able to get most of the cats checked in within a couple of weeks. I've noticed a reduction in fights over territory; so a much calmer neighborhood once more.
Since I contacted OHS around the start of kitten season, a couple of the cats were pregnant and one of them gave birth right outside my house! Since this mom gave birth right outside house, I was offered the opportunity to help foster. I always thought fostering would be great but I have no experience what so ever. They assured that if I would want to foster, they would guide me every step of the way and provide me with resources to do a good job. They kept their word. I have been in communication with a bunch of members whom were all very willing and eager to answer any of my questions and provide me with resources and tips on what to do and when. I've spent 6 weeks with my cuddly furballs so far and 3 out of the 5 have secured their forever homes! The experience has been great both from a learning experience and also because it feels great to do something kind for some otherwise stray animal. The scared and protective momma cat got a chance to turn into a calm loveable purring machine and her kittens get a chance to live a life without fear of getting attacked at night or getting ran over by a car.
Both the fostering and TNR assistance that OHS provides is such an essential service to any community. We're lucky to have OHS here in the east bay. Without them, I don't know what I could have done with a ready-to-explode feline population. Not sure any city's animal services would do without a group like OHS.
It was a great experience to have my cat through OHS. Cami is our first pet and we were kind of nervous to adopt her to our family because we didn't have any experience. Cami had great care through fostering mom and she was very open to us to send pics, videos, and could visit her house as many as we could even during pandemics. I am very happy to work with them and thanks for their help!
We had a wonderful experience with OHS TNR program. The OHS team is extremely passionate about their work and showed great professionalism. Big shout out to Nancy, Deepa, Natalia, and Sandra who assisted us throughout the TNR service - SKV
I have volunteered with this organisation since 2018. I love the mission and have slowly become more and more involved. I adopted my kitten 'Blue' from them in 2020 and she gives them 5 stars also.
The volunteers at OHS put so much of their personal time into helping wild and domestic animals. It's not paid work. It's not glamorous. But they make a huge difference.
I was on a search day and night for a kitten preferably Russian Blue (mix) I reached out to local places and 1 of them was Ohlone Humane Society so I sent a few messages and was in contact with Cindy Potter! By far the most amazing kind hearted human. She was able to give me so many tips and advice even referred me to another great set of women with some experience in the questions I had. Couple weeks later she just so happened to find me a Russian Blue kitten who is currently in Foster and who I will pick up this weekend, can't wait. I cannot say enough good words for this group of caring people. I will forever appreciate this amazing organization "Ohlone Humane Society" and Ms Cindy Potter!! Thank you =)
I LOVE working as a foster mom for this fantastic group of animal lovers! It is a well run organization that supported over 300 kittens in 2020 and 246 in 2021. They do trapping, bottle feeding, vet visits, medications, socializing, adoptions...you name it they do it!
Fosters are well supported with food, toys, anything needed to give these babies the
best start to a healthy life. Because of all they do donations are critical to continuing this
work.
These people are such a gift to our community. They help with a huge variety of needs. They're really dependable and someone surely knows someone that can help with just about anything! They're an amazing attribute for Fremont!
This is an amazing organization full of people who have animals’ best interests in mind and a heart for the community
With OHS help we were personally able to save dozens of adult cats and kittens last year and we are bound to exceed this tally this year.
I was looking to adopt a cat at the peak of the pandemic when many others were looking for a companion. I had filled out so many application forms for other shelters and rescues, but hardly ever got a response. When I contacted Ohlone Humane Society about one of their adoptable cats online, they got back to me the very next day. The kitty I had been asking about had already found a home, but they asked me through text what I was looking for, and promptly sent me photos and personality descriptions of the cats and kittens that were still looking for a home. I found a little guy I wanted to meet, and fell in love with him and his foster brother. The foster mom was amazing, sending me updates, photos, and videos as I waited for all the preparations (neutering, vaccinations, chip, health check) to be complete. Gaining the trust of the feral babies took some time and patience, but it was the most worthwhile endeavor. These two boys are the most affectionate, social, and loving companions, and I am so happy that we all share a forever home!
My husband and I have been volunteering for Ohlone Humane since 2018. That's a fantastic organization doing so much good for the community: community animals and wildlife, struggling pet owners, kids, and seniors!
I started out as a client of OHS, after a litter of five kittens and their feral mama took up residence under our shed! OHS Kitten and TNR managers helped us through all the steps, from foster, to TNR the adult cats, to finding homes for the babies. Through OHS I learned just how great the need for cat population control is in our community, and I've been volunteering ever since!
Appreciate the opportunity to volunteer at OHS and love working with wonderful people who sincerely care about the animals and do everything they can to save lives.
I’m been rescuing animals for as long as I can remember ! In 2020 I started fostering with Ohlone humane society, they have an awesome program with hard working volunteers, they provide medical care, spay and neuter all animals before they are adopted out. They also provide vouchers for spay and neutering animals to the community . Ohlone not only helps kittens and dogs but wildlife animals as well. I recently found a baby squirrel in my yard who was too young to be without its mother, with just a few phone calls, I was able to take the squirrel to a wildlife volunteer who was able provide care for the baby who otherwise would not have make it without it. Ohlone is dedicated to saving the lives of animals!
This organization is run by true animal lovers who work hard to protect and nurture the animals in their care.
Work with OHS was amazing! They were incredibly responsive and helpful through the entire process of adopting our 2 kittens. You can really tell that everyone cares deeply about the animals they foster and work tirelessly to find forever homes for. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to add new family members.
