Programs: Action america, inc. (the organization) was incorporated on july 28, 2011 as a not-for-profit corporation in delaware . The organization is a nonprofit organization organized solely for charitable and educational purposes, specifically, to create collective action to remember those affected by the tragedy of september 11th and to turn the events of september 11th into positive action by: (i) informing and providing volunteer opportunities to serve the community, in particular by turning september 11th each year into a day of volunteer service; (ii) keeping the memory of the events of september 11, 2001 alive; (iii) supporting activities and organizations that honor the memory of those who died on september 11, 2001 and continue to serve our country and protect our freedom and liberty; and (iv) mobilizing people across the country to work together, in the spirit that followed september 11th, on charitable and educational projects. Description of activities1. Educating and informing the general public about charitable causes, programs and volunteer opportunities. The organization will educate the general public about charitable causes and programs and connecting individuals with organizations that are described under section 501(c)(3), including, but not limited to, charities and philanthropic organizations, schools and educational organizations, hospitals and health care, scientific and research organizations, literary and arts and cultural organizations and community organizations of all sizes. The organization may also promote volunteer opportunities and activities that benefit the general public and community, even though such activities may not be organized by an independent section 501(c)(3) organization. For example, the organization may work with federal, state and local government agencies or informal local community groups to promote volunteer programs. These programs could be as simple as organizing beautification and clean-up projects at local public parks and working with a local public school to promote volunteer opportunities at the school to promoting volunteer opportunities for professionals, such as lawyers and accountants, to assist low-income taxpayers with tax compliance at free legal aid clinics. The organization will not encourage or promote volunteerism for programs and activities that are not permitted or restricted for section 501(c)(3) organizations, such as participating or intervening in any political campaign on behalf of, or in opposition to, any candidate for public office; carrying on propaganda; and influencing legislation beyond what is permitted for section 501(c)(3) organizations. The nonprofits selected by the organization may be listed on the organizations website. The organization may provide information about the nonprofits and their charitable programs on the website and work with the nonprofits to highlight potential volunteer opportunities and may work with other existing charitable organizations that promote volunteerism to provide information about volunteer opportunities. 2. Educating and informing nonprofit organizations about engaging the general public and volunteers. The organizations work is not only directed at the general public. The organization will reach out to nonprofit organizations and projects, as described above, and educate them about effective means and techniques to engage the general public in volunteerism. For example, the organization, through its interaction with volunteers, may provide information to other nonprofits about the types of volunteer activities that individuals are most interested in or that are most successful in creating impact. The organization may also provide nonprofits with advice about the most effective means to reach and engage volunteers. 3. Facilitate financial support to nonprofits. The organization will not only ask individuals to volunteer in remembrance of september 11, but also ask them to provide financial support to organizations described under section 501(c)(3) that the organization will pre-select. These designated nonprofits will be highlighted on the organizations website and individuals will have the opportunity to make financial contributions to them directly. In early 2013, the organization provided financial assistance to other nonprofits by paying proceeds raised by action america.
