Oakseed Ministries International

Our family prays daily for Oakseed ministries using their seasonal prayer guide and bazaar catalog, which are permanent fixtures in the napkin holder of our dining room table. We are moved by the lives of sacrifice that these brothers and sisters around the world are leading as they meet needs and share Christ with some of the most vulnerable people in their communities. We are grateful to Oakseed for making us aware of these ministries and their needs, that we might have the opportunity to come alongside them in prayer. We have donated to Oakseed on several occasions without any doubt that the funds were going where we requested. We only wish we could give more!

One look through the Oakseed International website reveals an amazing variety of ministries doing gospel work across many parts of the world. The creativity and resourcefulness of each ministry partner shows how they are connected to most pressing needs of the communities they serve. The leadership team and local churches guarantee accountability regarding each mission's goals. I never worry that my monthly donation is wasted or misused. Communication with a donor like me means I receive a prayer trifold several times a year and daily prayer emails if I request them (I do!). I have great faith and joy in the work that is being accomplished in Christ's name through Oakseed.

I’ve been supporting Oakseed for over 25 years. They are totally focused on the local ministries they support. I know every penny I give will go towards those who really need help.

We have so much confidence in Oakseed. Their communication is excellent and we appreciate their ministry model. They vet the ministries that they support, then come along side the leaders to give not just financial support, but counsel, resources, and accountability. This ministry focuses on the marginalized and neediest groups in the underdeveloped world. We love what they are able to accomplish with our donations, and we have been moved to increase our giving because of how both mercy ministry and sharing of the gospel go forward under their banner.

I have been a sponsor of Oakseed since it's beginning. I have been so impressed with their goal of partnering with nationals who are doing work in their own countries. The nationals know best what the great needs are of the poor; the nationals already speak the language and understand their own culture. They can live with less income than a foreigner and they have such a great heart for their own people. I have been blessed through Oakseed to partner with these nationals and their ministries through prayer for them and through supporting their needs. It has also been a great blessing to support some of the orphans in Kenya through the Oakseed partnership. I know that my donations are being fully used for the partners.

I love Oakseed because they focus on supporting indigenous ministries through prayer, financial support and ministerial support. As a sponsor, 100% of my donation goes straight to the child.

I had the honor of knowing the founder of Oakseed, Ed Bradley, in 1992, the year Oakseed was founded. For thirty two years I have seen Oakseed minister to the poor through advice provided by the leadership team, funding and prayer. Oakseed exists to share the good news of Jesus Christ-Lord and Savior. Oakseed, a light along the path to those in the darkness of poverty, abuse and addiction, stewarts it's donations with the utmost care. I have no reservatins about the soundness and goodness of this ministry.

I worked with Oakseed as a liaison volunteer to South America for 4 years and was highly impressed with the whole structure and philosophy of this organization. Not only do they support indigenous ministries around the world, thereby letting the people minister to their own because they know the needs and customs the best, but they also value the personal interaction that a liaison can have with both those doing ministry as well as those being ministered to. Oakseed is not a remote partner detached from the personal aspect of support. Liaisons visit in person and each year Oakseed brings representative natives of those ministries to the States for a banquet where supporters can meet them in person. Moral, spiritual and financial accountability is vital to Oakseed's integrity. Their heart is in serving the Lord with the utmost sincerity so that those who support this ministry can know their donations are being utilized in the most efficient and transparent way possible. For these reasons and more, I was honored to accept the invitation to be a board member of this God honoring and glorifying ministry.

This is one of the most well run, impactful ministries my husband and I support. We've been supporting Oakseed for the last 7 years and love the high level of engagement and accountability the Ministry has with its partners, ensuring they are using donations and support for the glory of God and service to children within their respective communities. We're grateful for Oakseed and the impact it's making in the lives of the least of these across the globe!

I have considered it an honor to be a member of Oakseed Ministries International’s board these last six years. It is from that vantage point, that I offer such high praise to the Lord for Oakseed’s mission, leadership team, and fruitfulness over the last 30 years. Oakseed is a Christian ministry that is advancing the Gospel by selectively partnering with indigenous ministries in the developing world that are passionate about addressing both the spiritual and physical needs of the poor, especially widows and orphans.

My family and I learned about Oakseed when their director joined our church. We appreciate the resources provided to help us learn about what the Lord is doing worldwide through Oakseed's ministry partners and then join them in prayer. We also appreciate Oakseed's ministry model, which attempts to keep ministry partners from being financially dependent on foreign money but seeks to support and empower them to boldly and faithfully share the gospel in their communities. The focus on local church oversight and emphasis on the priority of gospel ministry as the focal point of mercy ministry is also essential.
We also appreciate how Oakseed provides practical opportunities to assist ministry partners in sharing the gospel through these mercy ministries. After Christmas last year, our family enjoyed gathering around the dining room table to choose gifts from the bazaar catalog to further partner with these various ministries worldwide.
I began working for Oakseed this summer, and my appreciation for this ministry has only grown as I have had the opportunity to hear more stories of how the Lord is working and to learn more about how the director, ministry liaisons, and board work together to shepherd and support these ministry partners.

Oakseed is doing the Lord’s work. They operate with honesty, integrity, and a love for the least among us. They are great at communicating and meeting with their donors.

There are several reasons why my wife and I have chosen to give to Oakseed for the last several years. First, we love their mission of helping the truly needy in some of the world's most impoverished places. Second, we like giving to an organization where we know our donation will be used well; Oakseed carefully and regularly reviews the work of its ministry partners to ensure the partners stay true to their advertised mission. Third, we like giving to an organization that doesn't swallow up a significant percentage of donations for administrative expenses - and that is certainly the case with Oakseed: all designated donations go 100% to the specified ministry and not to administrative overhead!

I've been a donor with Oakseed for about three years. Our local church enjoys a close relationship with some members of Oakseed's staff and ministry liaisons. I've especially appreciated the transparency and personal communication that Oakseed emphasizes. Oakseed walks alongside locals already ministering to the urban poor and provides encouragement, prayer, and support in meaningful ways. Through partnering with local ministries around the world, the physical and spiritual needs of the urban poor are being met one ministry, one person, one day at a time.

We absolutely love this nonprofit for our giving. They are honest and open and have great communication between their ministries and donors... really above and beyond what you would reasonably expect. We've also seen the way they keep themselves accountable, both to relay funds and to help build up ministries overseas by prayer and sending liaisons. We have been contributing to Oakseed Ministry International for a few years now. We love the fact that our contributions are being used in ministries that are doing godly work in so many different parts of the world and that these ministries are focused on the spread of the Good News of Jesus. I volunteered with Oakseed Ministries and one of their partner organizations, Love Link, during the summer of 2022. Oakseed does a fantastic job of supporting nonprofits like Love Link that are doing vital work around the world. As a volunteer, I felt that Oakseed went above and beyond to ensure my safety in El Salvador and was extremely helpful in figuring out the logistics of my trip. I was also able to see the amazing work being done by Love Link as they conduct community healthcare outreach and rehabilitate Salvadoran children from advanced states of malnutrition. Oakseed helps to make Love Link's mission (and the missions of many similar organizations) possible. I highly recommend them!

Oakseed is a wonderful Christian ministry that assists and provides support for many indigenous Christian ministries around the world which support poor and needy people (including but not limited to needy children and orphans, prisoners, abused women.) They are extremely careful to manage donations carefully and responsibly and with minimal overhead costs. What a heart for God-honoring, biblical ministry in fulfillment of the Great Commission! I have followed Oakseed for many years and I appreciate their ministry so much. I support them financially and with prayer and hope many others will too.

Oakseed was my introduction to indigenous missions work. It makes so much sense to come alongside those who understand the language/culture and have a passion to share the gospel with their community. Oakseed has been a steady presence for decades serving worldwide ministries that come alongside the poorest of the poor. They provide pastoral and financial support in a unique way. The overhead is low, so dollars go straight to critical needs (water, food, clothing, Bibles, education,etc). And the pastoral support is so appreciated by those on the front lines, with regular email/phone contact, periodic in-person visits, and sharing of ideas between ministries across the globe.

We have donated to Oakseed for years, and the integrity and commitment of the staff is amazing. We have received prompt and personal responses to every communication we have sent, and we are kept regularly informed about updates and prayer needs of the various ministries via (optional) emails and mailings. Oakseed works exclusively with existing ministries in developing countries and provides annual opportunities to hear from a ministry representative in person. Each ministry location has a personal liaison in the US and receives regular phone calls and an annual visit, to foster a true caring relationship, plus personal and financial accountability. Support of a specific ministry (we donate to Love Link, which provides nutrition and medical care to malnourished babies), child sponsorship, and one-time gifts through the "Bazaar Catalog" are all wonderful & easy ways to support Oakseed. We recommend this ministry 100%.

My husband and I have known Oakseed nearly 30 years, and its leaders have earned our utmost respect. I am now privileged to serve on its Board of Directors, where seeing the inside workings of the ministry has only increased that regard. I see Oakseed Ministries International as the epitome of what a helping organization should be. Its mission is to assist the neediest and most vulnerable of the world’s urban poor, especially children. Oakseed Ministries International provides support for indigenous ministries serving the poor around the globe. As a former board member and current donor, I have seen up close the impact that this organization has had in South America and India and other parts of the world. The organization is led by the founder's daughter who has honored her father 's legacy of service and commitment to bring the good news of the Gospel to the most underserved communities of the world. I have been a donor to this organization since its inception (some 30 or so years ago) and intend to continue investing in the work of this very worthy non-profit, small in size, but quite large in reach and impact.

Oakseed doesn't follow the traditional "big American, we're here to fix you" model of assistance. Instead, Oakseed is built on a model of partnerships - coming alongside existing indigenous ministries to assist them in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the people they serve. Oakseed partners with those serving some of the most neglected, marginalized, and exploited people in our world. Orphans, widows, the blind, malnourished babies - these are just some of the people who depend on Oakseed and its partners.

My family and I have been partnering with Oakseed Ministries International as donors for over 15 years, and I've been serving as a board member for about four years. We've always been impressed with the thoughtful, intentional way that Oakseed seeks to accomplish its mission, which is by assisting existing indigenous ministries through prayer, financial donations, pastoral encouragement, training, and other means. Those indigenous ministries are often in the best positions to see the mercy needs and most effective ways of meeting those needs. Oakseed limits the amount of financial support to those individual ministries so that they do not become over-dependent on Oakseed's donations as their sole source. There are many ways that we are able to maintain personal relationships with the people serving in those ministries. Oakseed maintains a very low overhead, so that a very high percentage of our financial support goes directly to the ministry.

For almost 30 years Oakseed Ministries International has supported nationals around the world who diligently and sacrificially serve people of all ages—the poor, the blind, the addicted, the orphan, the widow, the outcast, the malnourished and sick. The staff seeks to meet both physical and spiritual (and sometimes educational) needs, while trying to do and say everything with the love and joy of Jesus. Oakseed provides specific prayer requests and updates for their donors, and has regional directors who are in regular communication with each Oakseed partner. I knew the founder of the ministry and attest to his great love for the lost and hurting, and wanting them to know Jesus and His great love and care for them. The Oakseed Partners have been called by God to be Jesus’s hands and feet, already having the same culture and language! This is a very worthy ministry to support, both financially and with prayer.

Oakseed is an amazing ministry that the Lord has blessed for so many years. Oakseed serves and assists serving children and the poor by having partnerships with Ministry Partners in some of the largest cities in the world. After serving as Chairman of the Oakseed Board for the past four years, I can attest to the impact that this ministry is having in so many different ways -- bringing spiritual, physical and emotional support for so many that are in need of the love of Christ. Oakseed has also established ministry liaisons to further the relationships on the ground and be an encouragement to the ministry partners and provide support in various ways.

My wife and I have been donors to Oakseed for more than 25 years. At first we were small givers, but also volunteered frequently in their office nearby. That was a good opportunity to talk with Oakseed's founder about the work being done by their partners. The office has moved away; but our contributions increased while we were away for a work assignment, and have been second only to our support to our own church, since our return 20 years ago.
We have been impressed with Oakseed's partners: not "branches" or "subsidiaries" of Oakseed, but local organizations who do ALL the work, in 3rd-world urban communities that have myriad needs and no resources. Oakseed's contribution is a share of the outside financial resources allowing the partners to function, plus constant prayer support, and time-to-time advisory counsel. Oakseed has also been willing to cut ties to "partners" who seemed more interested in helping themselves than those in need.

I love the focus of Oakseed Ministries International, which is to support Gospel-centered indigenous ministries in major urban areas in the developing world. I have had the opportunity to visit some of the supported ministries and can testify that they are faithfully working to alleviate suffering and sharing the Good News of Jesus. Oakseed is unique! I don't know any other partner that operates in the way Oakseed Ministries International does. They act promptly not tied down by bureaucratic hurdles yet they remain professional.
