Mission: To provide the residents of norwood massachusetts the opportunity to produce public access television programs, to broadcast norwood public schools events and programs and to provide coverage of local government meetings.
Programs: The three largest programs provided in 2017:1 - youth video club and lights, camera, summer:npa-tv offers middle school students the opportunity to participate in a weekly workshop during the fall and winter; and a week long summer program. During the workshops the students learn how to film, edit and produce a program. At the end of the program 4-5 groups of students produce a program on their own with the assistance of npa staff. 2- government meeting coverage:npa-tv covers an average of 20 government meetings a month. Npa-tv covers eleven different government meetings on a regular basis and adds additional boards and committees as time permits. Npa-tv offers residents the opportunity to see the town government at work from their home. 3- school department relationship:npa-tv and the norwood public schools have built a relationship that benefits both parties involved but more importantly the students of norwood public schools. Npa-tv studios are located at norwood high school and the norwood high school students have full, exclusive use of the studios during the school day and the ability to book additional time outside of the school day. Npa-tv provides the majority of the equipment for the award winning norwood high school tv program.
