Nonprofit Overview

Mission: Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need.
Results: We have built homes locally for 30 families and will be breaking ground on our 31st home this summer. We have served 19.8 families internationally through Habitat International.
Target demographics: eliminate substandard housing for families in need
Geographic areas served: Charlevoix and Emmet Counties
Programs: home building for low income families that meet 3 initial criteria... 1) Need for shelter 2) Ability to pay a mortgage and 3) Willingness to partner with Habitat.
