Mission: The mission of the Northwest ISD Education Foundation is to provide financial support to empower NISD educators, engage the community and encourage future-ready students. Our Vision To be the recognized leader in providing financial support to teachers and students in the region that Northwest ISD serves.
Results: Since 1999, the Northwest ISD Education Foundation has funded more than $1.6 million in innovative teaching grants and more than $500,000 in student scholarships. In 2018, NEF awarded 27 teaching grants across 19 campuses totaling more than $84,000!
Target demographics: Our foundation’s goal is to provide resources to enable students and teachers to work at their highest potential, rewarding those teachers for their innovative efforts and exemplary teaching.
Geographic areas served: The mission of the Northwest ISD Education Foundation is to provide financial support to empower NISD educators, engage the community and encourage future-ready students.
Programs: The foundation’s innovative teaching grants allow teachers to take a more creative approach to education and dream bigger. Grants fund creative learning programs and new technology to classrooms, supporting a variety of subjects including literacy, fine arts, STEM, special education, social and emotional learning, and more. Each project is carefully chosen for its innovation and impact to students. This year, the foundation awarded 27 teaching grants across 19 campuses totaling more than $84,000. To date, NEF has awarded more than $1.6 million in grants. Student scholarships are awarded annually to help ensure that Northwest ISD graduates continue their paths to success, even after they leave the district. To date, NEF has funded more than $500,000 in scholarships. The foundation also provides resources outside of our main programs including a donation of more than 2,500 books, $7,000 in scholarships to students taking Advanced Placement exams, and $5,000 to support students taking dual credit and certification courses in the district's Culinary Academy.
