Causes: Environment, Garden Clubs
Mission: To promote and support horticulture in the pacific northwest. To provide inspiration and education to the northwest gardening community through classes, tours, symposiums, workshops, plant sales, publications and through scholarship grants. To provide further educational support of northwest horticulture through the support of the elisabeth c miller horticultural library. To provide further inspirational support through the support of related horticultural organizations and horticultural projects in the northwest.
Programs: Public lectures by international experts in horticulture were presented and over 1,000 persons attended. Horticultural tours and various classes were presented. A newsletter with horticultural information and lecture, tour and class schedules was provided. A website was maintained with horticultural information and lecture, tour and class schedules.
a cash grant to the elisabeth c miller horticultural library at the university of washington center for urban horticulture was given along with grants to the university of washington botanic garden, seattle children's playgarden. Great plant picks, uw foundation, garden raised bounty, seattle tilth, friends of north creek forest, the friends of jimi hendrix park, lakota middle school,and wsu extension urban horticultural program.
