Causes: Amateur Sports Competitions, Sports
Mission: Our director and instructors are committed to creating a positive learning environment for the arts, expanding the role of music education, and heightening the public’s appreciation of artistic expression. We, as well as the members of our program, work extremely hard and strive to bring positive recognition to our school district and community. Our program sets the foundation that members need to advance to the Northmont Intermediate Colorguard and Northmont High School Colorguard in the future.
Results: We have created a positive learning environment in which the students grow and develop strong character and confidence as well as teamwork.
Target demographics: Students in grades 1-6
Direct beneficiaries per year: 20+ Students
Geographic areas served: The Northmont Wee Bolts Colorguard program is a performance group made up of members who are in the 1st through 6th grades in the Northmont School District. The group uses a combination of flags and other equipment, as well as dance and interpretive movement to comprise varying performance pieces that are showcased during local parades, festivals, Northmont Wee Bolts Football games, Northmont High School Marching Band’s Ice cream Social, and the Northmont High School Football game during Wee Bolts Night. Practices and performances are held outdoors. Try it clinics/Information meetings typically take place in May and June with practices starting in July. Performances begin in early August and go through mid-October. See Website for more information.
Programs: Colorguard - is the fall program and performs during weekly football games, parades and other events. Winterguard - is the winter program and competes weekly in the MEPA Circuit of Winter Guard International.
