Mission: We are a team of professionals striving to prepare our patients and families for the end-of-life experience. We support the patient, family, and friends in facing the challenges of a life-limiting illness by offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support and comfort. At the heart of our excellent service is the profound respect for the patients wishes.
Target demographics: patients with a diagnosis of any terminal illness, and their families
Direct beneficiaries per year: hundreds of patients at the end of life and their families.
Geographic areas served: Northern Arizona
Programs: specialized end-of-life patient care, including medical, psychological and spiritual services to the terminally ill and their families and loved ones. We offer two hospice-specific assisted living homes in Flagstaff, Arizona, for those patients who lack adequate caregiving resources in their own homes. We provide financial aid to those who qualify so that no one is ever turned away from Northland Hospice due to inability to pay or lack of insurance. We also offer bereavement services to hospice patient families and the community at large for those coping with a loss. Support groups are provided specific to the needs of caregivers as well as age-specific bereavement groups for children through adults. We also operate a Certified Caregiver Education program to increase and diversify the pool of qualified Caregivers for assisted living and in-home settings in northern Arizona.
I have been involved with Northland Hospice fundraisers for years - the reason is simple: they have touched so many families I know in northern AZ! When families are going through the indescribably tough time of losing a loved one, having an nonprofit like them that offers their hospice services not only professionally ,but also with heart, makes all of the difference in the world. And they help any patient or family who needs it, they don't turn people away because they don't have insurance or can't pay. Their quality of service is top notch and their people are so genuinely caring. I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad they're there for our community!
