I got to see these folks "work" the Bandfest Parade in Mason City and let me tell you, They are SO GOOD at what they do!
This used to be one of the best clubs in the area. Unfortunately, its leadership has been taken over by individuals who have lost focus and prioritized their personal interests above all else.
Since then, new clubs have emerged in the area, and I would much rather spend my time with them instead.
I do NOT recommend this club and encurage others not to engage with them.
I really enjoy being part of this group. NACG has a very diverse collection of poeple interested in all kinds of different things related to radio and technology. I always look forward to the activities that NACG hosts.
my only negative about the group is wishing they would advertised more, so more people knew they were here for us, and how great they are!

Amateur Radio Field Day is always the last full weekend in June! Our 2022 Field Day plan to be at EAST PARK in mason city again. We will be at shelters 2 & 3 all weekend, so come hang out with us and learn some more.

These people are amazing. I can't offer them much in the way of direct donations myself, but i always make sure i have them selected as the organization i support when i do stuff such as shop on amazon (PS. I stole their Amazon Smile photo from Facebook to post here)

I saw this group set up in East Park during one of their "Field day" events A while back. I learned that this is an open-house type event that they put on every summer. There was a plethora of interesting things to see, and I learned so much! These pictures are from that activity.
Then I ran into members of this group just last weekend as they were providing public service during the Bandfest parade! One of the group members took a moment to give me their organizations business card and answer some questions.
I had no idea that this group of radio hobbyist was so busy serving our community.

Ahh! the Glow Run event! We had so much fun "working" this nighttime run and making sure everyone was safe and accounted for. So many of you had such amazing outfits!

ke0pou 06/17/2022 Thank you! Events like bandfest are a lot of fun for us, our Mason city repeater is right on the parade route too, so we have fantastic radio coverage of this area. Fun fact, even the Police officer in that photo has his amateur radio license.
