They at least try..
First, there's nothing wrong with the food, amenities, and other attractions & games. I'm mainly talking about the practices.
The lodges are DISGUSTING. i was in the Rector lodge and there was blood on the mattress, unusable windows, and the AC was broken in some of the rooms. Oh, and I forgot to mention. TONS of bugs in the room, even since day 1. I don't know how many are venomous, but I was scared sleeping in there. whenever I think of this summer, 4h doesn't fall under the biggest memories
I have had the opportunity to utilize the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center for many years. It is a wonderful facility for all ages and offers varied educational programs and events. I personally attended summer 4-H Camp as an adult chaperone and was so impressed with the staff, varied creative activities, volunteers, and surrounding beauty. The price of camp was very reasonable so that kids from all socio-economic income levels were able to attend. I still have numerous fond memories of attending 4-H Camp!
I also appreciate the James E. Swart Animal Center on the property of the 4-H Center. This was formerly used as a Remount Depot during WWI & WWII, where horses, mules and dogs were trained and bred for use. This is a unique facility that we hope to rehabilitate and utilize more fully.

When I was employed with Virginia Cooperative Extension, I brought hundreds of kids and volunteers to 4-H Camp at the Northern VA 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal. It was always a highlight of the summer and an opportunity for urban kids to enjoy beautiful Harmony Hollow, gain new leadership life skills, and make lasting memories. The staff was fantastic, the surroundings breathtaking and the price was extremely reasonable for the invaluable experiences. I would definitely recommend the Northern VA 4-H Educational Center for its camps and other events, or plan your next retreat or program there!
The NOVA 4-H Center is a great place! My kids have gone to 4-H Camp and participated in several school trips there. The 4-H Center has a truly outstanding staff who are great at working with kids. They run outstanding outdoor education and team-building programs. It has a low and high ropes course, a large outdoor pool, a pond for fishing and canoeing, and horse stables. The center is just a stones throw from the Appalachian Trail. The center is a great place if you want to hold a retreat or meeting in a more rustic setting to get away from the city. I highly recommend it!
For 35 years, the NoVA 4-H Center has been home to Camp Fantastic and many other programs hosted by Special Love for children with cancer and their families. Their facility is beautiful and spacious with something for everyone and the staff is friendly and eager to help. It's a hidden jewel in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
