Causes: Environment, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection
Mission: Northern Catskills Audubon, Inc, founded in 1994, is the local chapter of the National Audubon Society. We provide a means for local participation in nature-related activities and advocacy on behalf of the environment, consistent with constraints of 501-C3 status. The RamsHorn-Livingston Sanctuary is a local site that affords NCAS a destination to broaden residents'' horizons in environmental appreciation and concerns.
Programs: NCAS sponsors the annual Christmas Bird Count, the Catskill-Coxsackie Count Circle. We contribute to a long running bird banding program at a local Audubon Sanctuary and are a member of the Audubon Council of New York State.
